One of my favorite videos ever. I used to fish very similar areas of Guntersville and had a lot of success twitching a Zoom trick worm weightless across the weeds and letting it drop down into holes. Awesome video Chad.
Great video and thank for sharing it! Those bass were massive. I never knew that night fishing was more active than day time. Thank you for your channel!
I definitely learned a lot from this video thanks for taking the time to film this night action. I gotta say your definitely a grinder to be fishing the night, napping on the kayak and then fishing to the following morning haha your a beast man. Keep up the great work!
Bro! What an awesome video, some awesome fish, keep this content coming! Can't wait to see you in a month or so and we are going to have a blast for the Veteran's day weekend! Glad to you let the camera guy/editor/best son in the world fish a little too! Gene didn't look happy at all until you all started catching them!
Chad, your podcast the other day was real, honest, and thought provoking. When the chips are cashed in brother it will be known that you fundamentally changed the landscape of the sport. Thanks, Chad and thank you for your service.
I love that I am only 2 hours away from FISHUSA have to stop by there every time I am in PA to get some kayaking/fishing accessories! I have not tried fishing at night from my outback yet but will have to try it sometime seems like a lot of big bass like to bite in the dark!
I love it!! Great video. I do most of my bass fishing in the evening and then catfishing after it gets dark but now I will try more bassing after dark. Soo excited to meet you and fish Guntersville on veterans day.
My Daiwa Aird-X heavy is a heavy with a moderate fast tip and it lets me slow my reaction and hook up more. Love topwater frogging. Great video. You 2 are hilarious together
Awesome content, thanks for sharing! I want to thank you again for meeting me and my family as we drove through Huntsville. I appreciate the pictures and insight on new headquarters. River was proud to say who you were. Keep up the great work!
Awesome stuff. Would love to see some more of this night fishing . I know what its like when its night and with your senses on high alert. Then BOOOOM !!!!! Nothing like it indeed. Keepem comin . You both are doing a great job. Thumbs up!
Would like to get some of the locations you fish on Guntersville just getting started in kayak fishing and would love to get on some big Guntersville toads thanks!!!
Now this is what I'm talking about! True country fishin! Giant hogs at night. Definitely keep producing this type of content! No one else is doing this!
Been waiting for you to upload. Thanks for everything you do man. I cannot wait to get down to Big G and throw in that grass. Contemplating getting into the kayak game myself.
Fishing where other people don’t or won’t has paid off for me many many times. We don’t get many fish that big up here in PA, but I find the “local” pigs up there in those skinny waters and thick cover.
Great video Chad. Any of you guys in South Florida fish from your kayak at night? I have yet to do it because of the fear of gators. I've only done it from a boat. Would love to hear if you guys have done it.
MAN what a video! the only problem i see is i wasn't up there chasin' critters with y'all!!!! ida been wanting to throw at every single pocket, i don't see how y'all could choose where to fish. it was all toooooooo purty!
I’ve had that Teckel for a while now and never used it. What’s wrong with me! 😂 I have zero confidence in frog fishing but I’m definitely giving it another go now.
I'm more of an inflatable yak guy, soooo, I'd probably have hiked the packed boat and fish gear down closer to the water, assembled the boat and launched from there (hint, inflatables are hella lighter, and even the really good fishing yaks are a LOT less expensive than your hardshells:) Even so, I'm guessing the bottoms of your hard shell boats are damned tough, other wise wouldn't you have tandem carried em down one at a time? Or were you afraid someone might have bogarted your stuff in the time it took to get em down there and got back for the second boat?.
Love the fishing. What about night vision camera or infant red camera that mite be a thing .I know hunters use it mite work for you're night fishing. 🌙 thanks agen .
Awesome fish! I think I need to check my scale see how accurate it is. The two biggest bass I've caught in past 5ish weeks, one was 26" long & 16.75 girth my scale said 9.39 my second biggest was 25.25 & 17.5" girth my scale said 8.6. After doing the math to your formulas they should both been heavier...?
Awesome video Chad! You and Austin are knocking it out of the park with killer content and quality edits. Love the night stuff. I was blown away when I saw this video mainly because I was there fishing with you in that same spot just a short time ago. I showed it to my wife, and she thought I was crazy. I even showed her on the video where I fell on my butt and did the dying cockroach thing when dragging the kayak to the water. Glad you didn't catch that on film. Looked like you were pretty close to the spot where I caught my PB. Man, that was exciting! I'm pretty sure I missed some of those big ones you've been catching. Never thought I would like fishing in the slop, but I loved it. Can't wait to get back out there and do it again! Keep it up Brother!
Should be legnth x length x girth / 1,200 for bass. The way you done it is for trout. What I've always been told when I donit like you done it. Still a hogg though. Awsome video.
Never have tested it. But I will one of these days. I've always done it the same way you did. The way my dad told me to do it when I was younger. Wasn't trying to correct you. Was kinda asking a question, but didnt sound like it after I reread it.
From what Ive always seen the 1200 is for “torpedo shaped” bass or “California” bass and the 800 is the more commonly accepted formula for standard largemouth
The 1200 formula would have made that bass between 6.6 and 7.5 pounds and that fish was waaaaay bigger than that. I’m getting a digital scale that’s calibrated soon for these situations. I’m expecting to start catching a whole lot more. I kinda think not having my Boga Grip or measuring board was my “good luck charm” for this fish since it’s the first time I didn’t have either in months, maybe even years
This is a monster for Gville in summer! Congrats to the editor! Worth mention is @yabigman your LxLxG/1200 calculation is correct. This is the closest measurement calculation for bass. I have dozens of lengths and girth’s memorized from 8-11lbers which were certified on Brecknells or similar scales. If it is winter or early spring and the fish are butterballs, you can add maybe a half pound. This is for Standard frame fish which is most of what is in our area. California and parts of TX I don’t think any calculation will be correct.
Are lights on the Kayak for navigation not required in Alabama? The lake cops and wardens nail us in Texas! Do you carry pliers? I bet your dentist hates you re bending hooks with your pearly whites You should have got Gene to weigh that fish, I know he’s got a scale in all that crap he Carry’s
We were both in kayaks that didn’t have all of our stuff. You don’t have to have navigation lights unless you are motorized. There was also no one “navigating” where we were so we didn’t have to worry about boats. We both had bright lights on our boats and a flood light if needed.
@@ChadHooverFishing thanks man the main reason I was asking is my sister in law lives in Guntersville or close by and I was thinking about taking my kayak with me from Texas but wasn’t sure of what the laws there are
Yes sir, I would like to know more about night fishing safety in a kayak
One of my favorite videos ever. I used to fish very similar areas of Guntersville and had a lot of success twitching a Zoom trick worm weightless across the weeds and letting it drop down into holes. Awesome video Chad.
Yessir, that works very well and I’ve also been having a lot of success on the DShad (Fluke) from Yamamoto
Absolutely keep ‘em coming. Use to summertime night fish from a Jon boat. This back to basics stealth fishing is the best.
Thanks and will do.
That was a PIG of a fish. Would’ve like to seen flukemasters face when he seen you hold that pig up. You guys are awesome together.
He paddled away and hid… 😂😂😂😂

Wow! What an awesome video! Those Bass had some beautiful colors. 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, y'all caught some nice ones!! Austin getting in on the action, too! Nice!!

BASS IN THE GRASS! Another great video with the kayak masters. Thank for sharing
Great video and thank for sharing it! Those bass were massive. I never knew that night fishing was more active than day time. Thank you for your channel!
Awesome night fishing and I’ve always tell my son fish the shallows for monsters he still doesn’t but I do
Then you have more fish to yourself 😂😂😂

Awesome stuff. Certainly welcome more information about bass forecast, packing for night fishing and all the little tips and tricks. Solid work Chad!

Thanks Randy. I’m going to keep working on ways to dial in the night shooting better. We still have a couple of months of it left
almost 25" bass.... oh yeah, Im coming to Guntersville...!!!
Common wit it, theres a bunch of them here!
@ChadHooverFishing Cool... all I need now is a guide... lol.
What do you normally use to measure the girth?
Well, I don’t “normally” measure it because I usually have a Boga Grip and a Ketch board so I just did what I could to “improvise”
great video making, keep up the great work your doing mr. hoover

Great Video Chad. Caught some beasts!

Come on in, the water is warm….. literally! 😂😂😂
Going to be doing this type of night fishing this summer. How deep was it in this video . Thanks
The average was about two feet. Deepest around five and shallowest was inches

I’ve done it in many, many places with gators and they are never an issue.
FishUSA Looked like an awesome time! Definitely enjoy hitting top water in the evening. Looking to more videos like this! How'd Gene do?
Gene caught a bunch but nothing very big and he didn’t film any of his night catches
@@ChadHooverFishing after that 10#, I wouldn’t want to film any dinks either 😂
Awesome video Chad that’s a toad
Fishusa
Thanks Chris
What months are best in N Bama
Do you ever throw the hollow body ribbit?
Yes; the Top Toad is also one of my favorites
How do you keep from "professionally over-running" when casting in the dark?
Because I set the reel up correctly and cast by feel during the daytime so there is no difference when casting at night for me
thanks@@ChadHooverFishing
