I listened to the xm4 and xm5 today for 30min each in store and went home with the xm4. I love a good bass and the xm4 just deliver a bit more in that regard.

Bought these in 2020. Occasional problem with high pitch noise when near invasive signals which can be alleviated by increasing the ambient sound level on the app. Otherwise, they’ve been Premium phones. Hope you have yours for at least as long! Cheers.

I got these as a Christmas present for myself, i work in really noisy warehouse job...🤫 Probably not the safety thing. But they actually better than ear defenders with ANC on.

I have these, they're a quantum leap from my previous headphones which cost £30. The only issue is they are sweaty as hell in the summer so I might consider buying different suede ear cups for them for the summer but they cost £50!

Hello I bought this headphones last month and I use it every now and then but every time I put them on I can’t go on for more than maybe 30 minutes or less with them before it starts to hurt my ears. Did you experience this as well?
Hey, I've not experienced this, is the pain inside your ear or around them? If it feels like pressure, you might benefit from changing the noise cancelling levels or turning it off? Hope this helps, and thanks for your comment 👍
@@brucejunboxing mostly on the edges of my ear specially the top part of them. Since I don’t use them everyday i know I haven’t got use to them and it’s been years since the last time I use over the ear headphones but I know it shouldn’t be uncomfortable. I really don’t want to return it (I don’t think I can I passed their return policy timeframe) but it’s just annoying. I bought them mostly for when I go on trip I can cancel my surroundings.
How to I change the levels of the noise cancellation? Do I turn off ambience sound completely or not?
And they are louder than the rest of most headphones (105 dB / mW) !!!!!!

Just bought the Sony Xm4, the noise cancelling gives me nausea, I will be returning these.
Hey, I'm sorry to hear that they give you nausea, and in some people, this is happening on all noice cancelling type devices. Did you try them without the noise cancelling feature?
@@brucejunboxing Yeah, it's fine without them, but I bought them due for noise cancelling for travelling. I didn't think I would have a problem with noise cancelling, as I ANC on smaller in-ear earbuds with no problem, but that's perhaps because they are built slightly different and not as powerful.
Funny thing is, I was able to test them in the store, but turning the ANC on/off was done through a special touch screen set up, I wonder if it was just turning down the volume to give you a similar perception to ANC without actually turning them on.

The sound leaking is so bad it can be heard at 50% from across the room, more of a speaker than a headset
So would you recommend the newer xm5 model over these if the folding is irrelevant to the buyer? The xm4 and xm5 price difference in Australia is under $100 now and the foldable feature is not relevant to me in the slightest, in fact I would consider it a negative. People are saying that the xm5 doesn't really bring much to the table for the added price, though.
I'd personally say the XM5 is basically a design change and though I've not tested them I too have seen a lot of people claim there isn't much improvement. I guess it comes down to how much cash you're willing to drop and if the foldable feature isn't much of a deal breaker then their newer model is for you 😀

@@hamburglar4843 No. I plan on using these for gaming and according to Reddit Bluetooth latency is noticeable on the headset. A friend of mine has them and says he doesn't notice it though.
I probably will end up buying them though because ultimately I can just return them if the latency is a deal breaker.
