WHOOOA!😮 This is absolutely gorgeous my friend. I mean it, dude. Finally, someone shows me an actual use for that chunky glitter that is always thrown (Dumped)🙄🤨 in the resin that I purchase. This is cool and inspirational. Good for you sis😉😋. Thanks loads🎉
Thank you! Sure, here's the process I follow and some links to more detailed tutorials I've recorded. -How to mix Resin: ruclips.net/video/DmgSo-Kgy1E/видео.html -The long version of this video: ruclips.net/video/DmgSo-Kgy1E/видео.html -Similar blue platter with instructional voice over: ruclips.net/video/qtJSdup5OeU/видео.html voice over -Similar green platter with instructional voice over: ruclips.net/video/xJeQRRiI2vQ/видео.html green with voice over 1) Protect surfaces and wear proper PPE for the type of resin you are using 2) Mix resin (clear) 3) Split resin into individual cups (2-3 colors, 1 white, leave 1 clear) 4) Add pigment/alcohol ink dyes into color cups, and acrylic shells/stones into the clear 5) Put shell/stone and resin mix on lower 1/4 - 1/3 of trey. 6) Drizzle colored resin (not white) on the upper 2/3 to 3/4 of trey. 7) Swirl colors 8) Heat with heat gun 9) Drizzle on white resin 10) Use heat gun to slightly move the white resin (don’t over do it or it will combine) 11) Let cue 12) Add stain/finish or paint to wood boarder 13) Add handles and mounting hardware I don't really have measurements for most of my projects, aside from making sure the proportion of resin to hardener is correct, I estimate most of the pigments/dyes, and times.
Thank you! I really enjoyed making these! Here is a more detailed tutorial I have if you’re interested ruclips.net/video/qtJSdup5OeU/видео.htmlsi=5nwjisKiycr__1M9
Glad to hear! Good question, it is epoxy-resin. It’s not quite paint, it starts as 2 liquids that when mixed together turn into a plastic like material.
Thanks! There is a small amount of transparent blue liquid dye in all the resin to prevent yellowing. I think all the pigments in this piece are mixed of pearl-ex pigments. -The dark blue is a combo sapphire, black, and a bit of reflex violet -The light blue is duo-blue green and macropearl I mix pigments to get more unique colors 😊
Well done !! Simply beautiful ! Can you share the products you are using, especially the white that is pored in between the beach & the water ? Thank you
Thank you! All the Resin use in this piece is General 2 Part Epoxy from the Epoxy Resin Store Brand. The white pigment is a mix of pearl white color powered pigment from Jacquard Pearl Ex brand, and a opaque white ink dye that the label is missing from. Most of the colors are a mix of powders and ink dyes to create custom colors unique to each piece. The wood frame is a 14" Wood Craft Platter with a combo of red oak stain and grey stain. The crushed acrylics are from the mosaics part of the craft store. I use drawer pulls for handles, a picture hanging tab on the back with anti scuff adhesive pads (for chair bottoms) to protect walls or tables.
It depends on the depth of resin you want to pour and how much volume the stones you use to take up. This is the basic estimate I use. I typically use .25 or .33 of an inch for the resin depth on these projects, and negate the stones, it's better to have too much resin mixed than not enough. Volume =πr^2 (* depth) V = π 4^2 (* .25) V = 50.3 (*.25) V = 12.6 in^3 I use cups to measure so that converts to 0.87cups or 206ml.
I don't really have a good answer for you. It took some trial and error, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I'd say avoid over swirling the colors together, degas the colors before adding the white, and then only heat the edges of the white until they starts to bubble. I think keeping the white on the top is dependent on keeping the temperatures/viscosities different.
It's actually a piece of wood, so it stays with the resin as a frame. I think I got this one at a craft store like Michael's or Hobby Lobby, but I've also cut them out with a jigsaw and router.

Two ways bubbles happen, because resin goes through an exothermic reaction it heats up and areas of different temps move past each other, the metallic pigments and timelapse make it more noticeable. The other that can happen is the heat pulls trapped air bubbles out of the wood base and they escape out of the resin. The wood I used was pretty dry so most likely the first option.

It was part of a pack with 3 sizes that I got at a craft store. I’m pretty sure it was Hobby Lobby, but it could have been Michaels. Unfortunately, I don’t have a link to share, sorry :(
@@ResWorkshop hey, thats completely fine, do you have any email or social media page, i have few queries that i want to ask that would be a great help from you❤
-I order the resin from Amazon.com -The brand is The Epoxy Resin Store -The type is Platinum Clear General Purpose Epoxy Resin & Hardener 1:1 Kit (I hope the translation works)
I’m not quite sure what you are asking - I’m thinking you are asking about if resin is a replacement for epoxy? The product I use is Epoxy-Resin. Because both terms are in the name many people use them interchangeably. Technically there are multiple types and resins, and multiple types of epoxies, this product happens to fit both categories. Hope this helps!
I do a lot of pigment and dye mixing to achieve unique colors. The Deep Blue pigment is Pearl Ex sapphire, Carbon Black, Reflex Violet, and Black ink dye. The Blue-green pigment is Pearl Ex Duo Blue-Green and Eye Candy Okinawa green. The white is opaque white ink dye.
I have a few on my Esty store right now! Including shipping they range from $45 to $65 depending on size and color. There is a 14" Blue one with the same handles and finish still available, and if you use Code: RUclips you'll get 15% off. www.etsy.com/shop/ResWoodAndResinWorks
With proper ppe it’s pretty low risk. I use low voc resin, pour in well ventilated areas if not outside, wearing a respirator (hence I talk in few videos), with liquid or nitrile gloves, and safety glasses. I keep isopropyl alcohol nearby for spills or skin contact.
Your not a true resin artist unless you have atleast made some kind of beach scene like this! Lol i dont think i have ever watched a resin artist that has never made a beach scene b4! Lol its like a staple! It should be a crime if your a resin artist and you have never done one of these!! JAIL TIME!! Lol So like i said you aint no resin artist unless you made one of these!! Lol

Where do you get the wood frame from??
If we want 8 inch frame then how much ml solution is required ?

I use either nitrile gloves or liquid gloves, in this case liquid gloves which are noncomedogenic & paraban free
