      I can speak for the 90s, AMAZING. People were cool, werent crazy and social media obsessed at eachothers throats, no cell phones but still some tech and good gaming, PEAK. 2020s by far the worst decade.

    The biggest thing I notice between then and now is that these days nobody and almost nobody does Pull Ups man. Arnold, Mike, Lee Haney they all were pretty big guys too. All in the 200-220 weight range but still they did regular bodyweight pull ups before touching a Barbell on Back Day. Hence the beautiful V Taper along with the thickness.
    Nowadays it's just about who can be heavier and bigger. Bodybuilders these days are not a pleasant sight to see.

    I cannot believe the way they're doing the seated cable rows.
    If I did it like they did and swung my upper body back and forth that much like they did, my back would be paralyzed.
    Everything they do, I can just feel the pain in my lower back as I watch it.
    I just can't believe how Arnold didn't sustain any permanent back injury with that kind of motion.
    I guess those guys were just built different.

    • @superservices4818
      @superservices4818 Month ago +1

      ...no, they didn't get injured precisely because they did the movement with a proper full range of motion. You guys just do partials then wonder why you're injured all the time

    • @henrykwon8068
      @henrykwon8068 Month ago +2

      @superservices4818That may be so, but you still have to have a pretty healthy and strong lower back to move like that and not get injured. And I don't have that.

    I was one of the 4,000 people who attended the 1974 Mr. Olympia in New York City.
    Arnold competed against Lou Ferrigno, Franco Columbu, Frank Zane. He was at his all-time best at that contest.
    To say that Arnold destroyed the competition is an understatement. When he hit a pose, his muscles exploded. He had the finish to his muscles that no one else had. Size, shape, definition, finish. It wasn’t even close. My jaw dropped more than a few times. My friends and I were flabbergasted.
    That’s how good he was.

      wow... you’re incredibly lucky to have witnessed that live. being one of the 4,000 people at the 1974 mr. olympia in new york, seeing arnold at his absolute peak against lou ferrigno, franco columbu, and frank zane… that event is already written in history books as one of the greatest bodybuilding shows of all time.

      @adamkaminski Month ago

      @forasagothe point is, genius, if you are natural, you won't be able to execute the same amount of exercises he did without seriious injuries and lack of results due to overtraining. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve credit for what he accomplished. It's just a warning for those who think the kind of training he did would fit to anyone. Without the deugs, your body wouldn't support that.

    A lot of people argue about Arnold’s training method as opposed to Mike Mitzner but you look at both of them and there is no doubt you can argue with either of them that they are living proof that each of their methods works. It is about what works for you and what you want to achieve

    • @luchiani1171
      @luchiani1171 Month ago +3

      Arnold’s only works because of steroids not knocking him down but a natural lifter cant push themselves as hard with overtraining
      Vs mike mentzer was geared more towards natural lifters who no where near the recovery speed or muscle building power of anabolic steroids

    • @dominicksans7204
      @dominicksans7204 Month ago +2

      @luchiani1171 this is not true Arnold‘s work for him and it could work for natural lifters too just all depending upon what your goals are. That’s what I said both can work. It just depends on what goals you’re trying to achieve and with the individual body make up is some people are naturally lean and naturally shredded so they’ll have an easier time staying shredded then gaining weight versus some other others. Have a much easier time putting on Waite building mass but have a much harder time shredding cutting down or getting defined so with those two individuals and all depends on what they’re trying to achieve. They can employ one of these methods and they can work for them even naturally.

    • @luchiani1171
      @luchiani1171 Month ago

      @dominicksans7204doubt it, dont think most people could dead lift, squat and bench 200lbs+ for 5-6days in row without a rest day, i could see people working out 5-6 days weeks 2hours a day with light weights and cardio but no way with heavy loads like arnold was doin or telling people to do

      that’s exactly it. if you already have the width, slowing down is the key to building thickness. control the weight, pause and squeeze every rep. focus more on heavy rows... barbell rows, t bar rows, seated cable rows, chest supported rows, and one arm dumbbell rows. rack pulls and deadlifts also add serious mid back density. Try this Joshua 💪💯

    • @gymfreak422
      @gymfreak422 Month ago +2
