I like digital for its compactness for when I'm on the go, but I also like CD/Vinyl because I like to have a physical copy of my music in my hand. If I can physically hold my music, it feels more permanent.
Same here.like all my music i own, some are burned cds or amazon mp3 downloads but i prefer the artwork & the official-ness of the real product.so if i burn a cd or download a few songs on my ipod that's to get me into it. I always buy cds or vinyl if it's not available on cd. Once i own the official i give the burned copy to a friend to get em hooked on the band.i went to a bestbuy last week & there were practically NO cds available, and the ones that were were nothing i emwant. They had no Carcass,Devourment,Buzzoven,Weedeater,Six Feet Under,Un Flames,Mnemic,Skeletonwitch,Bleeding Through,Amorphis. I found 2 cds worth buying BTBAM-Coma Ecliptic & Pink Floyd-Momentary Lapse of Reason
exactly! go to listen to a song, the video has been removed. well fuck now i cant. oh wait i have the album!
I'm a CD guy myself. I don't have the means for vinyl, but if I did, I'd jump right on it.
Haha well it's not so much yet, but I got 7 new ones in after I uploaded this video..:-p
Thanks for your vids, they're as timeless as old-school death metal. I was in my early 20-ties in the 90-ties, grew up with Sepultura, Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary whom I all had a chance to see at Dynamo Open Air. Always kept listening to a lot of heavy stuff, but lost track of what was coming in new. Now I picked that up again and got some real good advise from your vids. Really cool. Keep it coming. Disparaged is really top, you presented those guys on some vid about their label.
I definitely prefer vinyl when it comes to the format of choice. Such a satisfying medium on every level, the artwork, the multitude of color combinations, the sound quality (assuming it was properly and specifically mastered for vinyl and preferably analog), and extra goodies like full-size booklets, posters, and mp3 download codes. Absolutely nothing beats a vinyl box set, those are by far the most rewarding and well done releases a collector/fan can own. Unfortunately, vinyls are more expensive (unless you're digging out disco LPs from the bargain bin) than CDs and tapes, hence my CDs outnumber my LPs five to one.
Only one thing beats a box set coloured vinyl
Don't worry Ed. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Love the videos, the longer the better dude!
I'm not really into death metal or any old school metal music, but i really love your videos and the way you see things and deal with them! You are truly an inspiration, many "Metalheads" from Portugal could and SHOULD take you as an example!
Hey Ed, I think you're videos are great and you inspire me to collect albums as well. Got a pretty good collection so far, thanks man!
He just likes Angry Birds....
Just found your channel and subbed!!
hey man ive been listening to metal since i was about 5/6 when i found the album "vulgar display of power" in my brothers room and now im 17 and im always keen to find you bands from any genre in metal. just wanted to say that youve introduced me alot of new bands and made me more open minded towards other individuals. your doing an amazing job man keep up the good work
It's always awesome to learn about some bands I haven't heard of before from your channel.
Hey, during the video I was thinking about how cool it is of you to do these in your second language to allow as many of us to enjoy you as possible, then you go and talk about it at the end! Thanks so much, you're awesome man, keep it up!
I like how casual your videos are and the lengths are actually a bonus. Short videos sometimes feel rushed, which is a bit frustrating to watch when it's something you're interested in. Anyway, hope you manage to get a record player soon - well worth it!
I'm really impressed by all your color albums. I only have a few but me and my brother get really excited by them and get them when we can. The record store near us is REALY limited on metal and when it shows up it goes quickly, so we have to order most of our stuff. I'm stam gettingto watch all your videos and loving it! Thanks so much for sharing
Yeah that's true. I like to purchase self-released albums via for instance bandcamp for the simple fact that i love to know that most of the money actually goes directly to the artists. Btw, it is just absolutely amazing that you always take the time to respond to most of these comments, especially considering how big your channel is.
Hey Ed! You're one of many reasons why I'm proud to be a metalhead! keep up the amazing work you're doing! I just love to see your videos.. :)
I love long, rambling videos. Keep them coming!
Hahahahaha, dammit, now I need some three piece suit lawyer..:-p
And I am glad you like the video so much, I like sharing good stuff with you guys..;-)
Thanks! I am glad you like the videos!
Dear mother of god the detail on that last drawing is beyond amazing
You have turned me onto Nocturnus... and I thank you GREATLY!
Holy fucking shit, this is a monster of a vid! I loved every second of it. I subbed and am going back to watch all of your vids (as well as future ones). It got my metal juices flowing and am so happy I found your page!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
Thanks! I am always glad to hear that!
Awesome video man, lots of good topics, lots of great musical referrals!
Holy hell... who have I managed to miss this guy!? He is amazing! Dude, I really have to start watch your videos! Cheers from Finland fellow metalhead and keep your fist up in the air for metal!
really jealous of your collection dude! never knew you could get vinyl in different colours, you learn something new every day!
I thank you for doing these things, it helps me find bands I've never heard of. You have helped me so much Infidelamsterdam!
Awesome video man, you're amazing! You've inspired me to start my little Slam/Brutal Death Metal CD Collection! Thank you for all your videos \m/
Haven't seen you in a while but your intro: WOW you've stepped it up a bit. NICE !
as always, great video, Ed!
Cheers from Croatia!
Dude, I love your collection!
Man you have an excellent taste in music, I'm loving every single band you recommend.
Wow nice, what did you get?
Well I am already working on the new one and I can tell you, it's not gonna be a quick video again..:-p
Nice going man, how is the new Volbeat?
No problem, I try to respond as much as possible to people..;-)
Your videos make my day !
What was the vinyl that you sold for the most? This stuff can be pretty expensive.
Working on it...45 minutes with music is on the way!
Your long videos are the best.
But that code only works for that particular cd, not for other cds. Or do you mean the demigod album
Been wishing for The Key to be re-released ever since I first heard it. Thanks for that awesome share!
On ya Infi, another great weekly update!
Wow, thanks man! I really appreciate those kind words my friend!
There is no need to thank me, man. I want to thank you for being so epic and so supportive in general about the problems that metalheads have in general. You're like our voice, our "Ambassador" in a social way if you get my meaning and what I want to say. In other words, I want to thank you for giving us and teaching us all these lesson in this period of time. Since you started to make videos and became so fucking popular around us. I thank you, Ed. Long live the Infidel!
Thanks, glad you like it!..
I'm really jealous of your Slumber of Sullen Eyes album, my eyes nearly popped out when I saw that vinyl as well!
There are quite a lot of albums in your collection (mostly the modern stuff) that I don't like at all and some even downright don't like, but hey we each have our personal taste and I can see you have a genuine passion for the music and that is really cool to see.
Thanks man, glad you like it!
Cheers for the heads up! Nocturnus CD ordered. At last! Thanks!
i dont know why it is so entertaining to listen to you talk
That's in the description..
The first of your Videos i got to watch....instantly fall in Love :D
Great Job Dude ! keep it going (: \m/
great video ed !!!
I remember you from our talk on that video. Good choice. You don;t have to spent hundreds of $ at the same time, every sale is support for the scene and the music!
Keep up the good work!
Ed, your videos always make me want to listen to metal. Every time I watch one of your videos, when it's done I listen to metal. Might I suggest putting music in the background of the whole video? Don't make it too loud obviously, just drop it in to the 2nd audio track of the timeline in your editing program (you might need to add a track) and turn the volume down so it can be heard but your voice can still be clearly understood. What do you think?
Really enjoyed this video man.
Thanks for that compliment man!
Finally! Almost a full hour of ed!
You mean Spectrum of death from Morbid saint?
I have that one on cd.
awesome video in every sense of the word! also found alot of amazing bands that i need cd's of now!
Awesome man! Love the vid.
That's good to hear dude, keep up the good work!
Cheers!
You're the kind of guy I would love to have a beer with ! Keep up the videos buddy !
Just like you just said in my other video, why would I care what you think?
What are your thoughts on remixing and remastering? Do you think they make older albums better or worse?
Wow I'm impressed, what an amazing job. Really talented girl Fernanda!
Thank you! I really appreciate your videos!
Haha, thanks! Glad you liked it!
"Music is what you think it is. There is no definition. Don't take your opinion and make it a definition of the subject." You're amazing Ed. Cheers from NY!
Thanks man, I like hearing that!
Great video Ed, awesome colection ;)
Just found Autopsy - Mental Funeral, first press 1991 at my local used record store for 6 pounds. Hell yeah!
Haven't heard it yet, but thanks for the heads up. I do have their first full length
I just recently went to a Clutch show, and they had a picture disc 7', of their latest single, Pigtown Blues, It's so rad!! for those of you who don't know Clutch, I highly suggest them, and thank you Infidel for all of the awesome updates and videos! You have the best vinyl collection! \m/
awesome stuff man, congrats. I am sure you started early, did you manage to collect some of the 1980s trash metal vinyls? (nuclear assault, violence, forbidden, kreator, etc).
keep up the awesome collection man!
I agree with you about "The Key" by Nocturnus. It is a great album or "a masterpiece" as you said. I almost jumped on the chair shouting when you said that Earache has reprinted it! Thank you for the info. Great video! Cheers from Italy.
Thanks!, Glad you liked it!
ed what happens if your gets filled with cds and vinyls then what will you do ?
I do, that's why sometimes it takes a while for a new video to appear
No you will have a hard time ever finding that at a store. However if you will settle for a re-press, that one is sold on the Xtreem music website.
what song in the beginning?
Well so far it's still here. And a lot of people also thought that vinyl was gonna be dead by now and it just gets back more and more...people see the value of having something real instead of some file on a pc again.
Ended up checking out all of the bands, damm you have a great taste of music
Nice one! You're gonna love that album! Enjoy!
Loved the part with the Satan act hilarious great job on video as usual thanks again for what you do.
That artwork was really bad ass! Cool video brother, Clicked your bell some can catch more of your vids! Metal 4 Life!
He'll be back!
cuanto tengo que esperar para tener esas barbas? gracias
Haha, nice one..congrats on the new machine!
From the band, go check their facebook!
They also have their EP on a real cd now
where do you find all the news about the metal scene?
Where would you go about finding most of these vinyls?
Well you will probably be surprised but yes, that's often the case. Cerebral Bore did not get paid at all for playing on bloodstock, and it cost them a lot to get there. The festival just takes the position of "If you don't want to play here, some other band will"...So a lot of beginning and even progressed bands still play for very little or nothing.
Hell yeah, I am still looking for an EP they once brought out.
Hey Ed, I was wondering how you feel about albums being remastered. You probably know about the Death albums being remastered as well as The Key by Nocturnus among many others. Do you prefer the originals or think that (sometimes) remasters can ruin an album or even improve it - or are they another way for record labels to make some more money? (that's not a bad thing)
Hey Infidel, I'm curious about your opinion on the artwork of Morbid Angel's Altars of Madness? I think it corresponds perfectly with the album's mood and especially with Chapel of Ghouls. Should be in every decent vinyl collection. Great album & awesome artwork.
amazing stuff men, cheers from Argentina !
