For historical accuracy, he's also being paid ¢5 an hour.
Lmao 😂😂
Not bad

Been “playing” piano for 10 years and this kid is leagues better than me. Pardon me while I re-evaluate my life decisions.
Presumably because you don’t focus on one instrument. Maple leaf rag is tough, but if he is playing better than you then I highly doubt what you’re saying is true. His playing is okay at most.
(Ryder’s Dad) Keys isn’t the only instrument he plays…nor is it the primary instrument he plays. He learned to play Maple Leaf Rag in its entirety on his own, without a piano teacher. He was invited as a guest by a rep from major keyboard company to play as a guest artist at their exhibit at NAMM, the biggest music trade show there is. His playing ability speaks for itself.
I used to be able to do this, I miss being able to practice an hour a day and still have time for things, I got a family now and I’ve let my skills lapse.
I could also play that at 11! Two talented kids i guess
@@hahhey1372youre a snob if you thibk his playing is "ok", everyone around him is amazed...
That's ,The Maple Leaf Rag. Joplin was a rock star. Amazing job. a very difficult piece.
It's decently difficult, mostly the third and fourth part are kinda difficult
I would like to disagree that it's difficult, especially when compared to actually difficult piano pieces like Chopin etudes.
@@Mrncgntu Well compared to those most piano pieces are difficult. But in the realm of ragtime joplins songs this one is maybe midrange. There are some more difficult songs he wrote but also easier ones (id say the entertainer and pineapple rag are easier)
@@dsamurai4725 ok. have a nice day!
@@dsamurai4725 I agree, the third page part after the 2 repeat sections where the right hand chords by themselves sound funky, is kind of hard sometimes
Really like how the focus is on the music , he has none of these irriating mannerisms and affectations other pianists develope . Just a genuine unpretentious delivery
Yeah I don’t get when pianists go over the top
Cut them pianists some slacks 😂. Sometimes they just love the music and get into the groove. Let them show their flair a bit
@@KhanhTheLearner depends on the artist, yes expression and feeling the music is great but with too many they are too aware of themselves and their performance instead of sincere connection to the music.
@@asylumrainit depends on the musical period, such as the romantic period pianist would show lots of emotion while playing but I feel like ragtime was more straight foward and not so over the top
Ryder is self-taught, so he hasn't had a teacher breathing down his neck correcting posture, hand placement, sitting vs. standing. So what you see is Ryder playing and being himself. - Ryder's Dad
I love how people on the back was like "Look, a prodigy"
Maple Leaf Ray really slaps, good job Scott Joplin for creating that. Also a good a saloon song.
This is REALLY good playing and style, REALLY good. Well done young man, I will learn from you
Thanks a lot!
I’m 18 and I just got good at that song, now I feel dumb 😂
LOL, not very many people can play it and was a hard song for me to finally get right! Keep it up!
@@RyderPlaysMusic nah I dont think its hard. I dont know for how long do you play piano. If you want some Real shit go and check tom brier. He is ragtime master
@@Chaosmod_PvPno, the middle of this is vicious, and very hard to get as smoothly and stylishly as this young man
@@Chaosmod_PvP Have you heard of what happened to Tom Brier a few years ago? It's actually quite sad he can probably never play piano again.
This took me forever to learn, but this kid just bangs it out like ABC. Maestro in the making!🎶🎵🎶
Probably took them a while to learn as well
Bro a guy in grade 4 in my school memorized this whole song and played it in assembly infront of everybody
I learned the first 20 bars in 2 hours, but the rest of the song took a while longer. There are 2 difficult sections that waited until the end to learn.
@@RyderPlaysMusic Keep working at your piano. Someday, you'll be a concert pianist. All I can play now is hymns out of the Presbyterian Hymnal! ( The old one, not the one they use now!). 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
What I learned about humans is that for some reason the younger you are, the quicker you learn things. God damnit, why can't we just be like that forever??
Bro... Been trying to learn this piece for like a month and a half...
I'm well older than this kid, and have been playing piano for 7-8 years...
He demolished me. 😭
It's a hard song. There were two sections that I didn't learn for a year.
I can play the first part to the part where it’s going up and i have been playing 3 months
Scott Joplin may be a legend but this kid is his successor
He can play this better than I can! Your doin great pal!
Song: Maple Leaf Rag
I think we all know that
Thanks
The lady in the background: 😮
I was going to write a thought out comment but I guess I'm just speechless at how good he is. Hope you'll post some more of this in the future
Does anyone realize how hard this song is to play and he sounds flawless!? Amazing job young man 👏👏👏👏
Thanks for the comment! This was Ryder’s first complete song that he learned on keys. Some parts were harder than others, but he taught himself how to play it when he was 10 and took his time learning it. - Ryder’s Dad
Scott Joplin would’ve said something like “STOP PLAYING IT SO FAST” lmao it was a note on like every one of his pieces
That’s true, but no one plays ragtime songs slow at Disneyland!
Probably was nerves affecting him
@@ThemanlymanStan for sure
Way to go young man, it really sounds good
bros workin overtime!
Kids are the best performers!
Esplosivo veramente in gamba .
Sembra che suoni da 40 anni...e' un grande mistero.
I like the garter on his arm. Nice touch.
OMG RUN CHILD!!!! RUN AWAY Fast!!! The plans Disney has for you will scar you forever....
For anyone wondering, the piece is Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin.
this is the kind of kid my parents would compare me as a pianist to
Amazing standing up playing as no bpdy weight etc for the keys
I've always played standing up, so now it's hard for me to play sitting down.
Damn. He beat me to learning that song by 1 year😭
TALENTED. BRAVO
Scott Joplin
love this tune
Musical Genius!!! 👑😎 🎯🏆📻🎵 🎶 💯
Это самый красивый рэгтайм Джоплина и самый сложный !!!
This is a really good piece if you have grown to have long fingers, around this kids age, and have decent experience. This is pure talent here
I can also kinda play this and im 11
Man's got some serious skill
Ridiculously spot on note for note 🎉😮❤ amazing
I have a 1916 player piano. Joplin recorded several songs at the QRS player piano roll company. There still in business today. I can listen to Joplin's music as if your watching him playing the music from the early part on the 20th century.
Nice job "Tot Joplin!" :)
Go kid go!
Joplin would be proud
I woulda thought it was fake if I couldn't see his hands so clearly. Talented kid.
It's like this Kid is from the early 1900s love this
I can barely play that song, only difference is I’m 23 🤣 never stop playing kid
Wow! Super impressive
Thank you!
Holy smokes!
He doesn't miss one note !
Maple leaf rag
Lil bro is literally Wilson.
This was so amazing and neat! Loved how your focus was completely on the keys during the whole performance! Keep playing 😁👍
Thank you!
This song is really, really hard.
no its not. it is a very entry level song.
Love how this popped up as i, an 11 year old, am learning this piece lol
Let’s goooo good job you killed it, also nice name i like it a lot🤣
Crazy and master Joplin
Talent!!
Thanks!
@@RyderPlaysMusic Your welcome! I don’t think I can even do the right hand slow of this song.
Kids a genius
Give that boy a shilling
Kid's got stride for sure. Next up: Athlete's Rag!
У прохожих мимо, челюсти отвисли😂Молодец браво!!!
The girl in the background is so shocked 😮😮

I love when kids do crazy stuff like this iconic
Awesome
Thats scott joplins great grandson 😂
Bravo 👏👏
Whoa amazing!
Thank you!
I've been playing 18months. I can barely play happy birthday.
This kid as no skillissue he just has a good gaming chair. Legit has gaming fingers
The piano and guitar are my games!
Well done young man!
Thanks!
Dawg is NOT in meep city 😭🙏
Same
Been playing this piece for over 5 years. This is a great performance especially when considering his age
Yes, considering his age and he's self-taught - Ryder's Dad
Next Tom brier
honestly i think its easier at his age. kids can learn stuff significantly easier than adults and it being an easier song on the piano its not that impressive.
Bravo! Fantastic performance 😃
Thank you, Jeremie! It was a huge honor to play at Disneyland!
THATS TALENT RIGHT THERE
Joplin ❤
Why did this cut off???
RUclips Shorts can’t be longer than 60 seconds.
A very good hand motion and technique 👍🏽
かっこーいい!
Thanks!
Kids got talent ain’t no lie about that

Wooowww...!! Fantastic..!!!
I'm sorry. 11?!?!? I'm a teenager who started playing at like 12 and I can't do this! Keep it up, kiddo!
Maple leaf
