I used to have one but he passed away, and watching this video makes me want to get another one. Jack Blenny was a really good eater, always fat! I enjoyed this video - thank you! 👍🏻👍🏻
Your tank is beautiful. What are your water parameters like the specifically the nitrates and what kind of par do you have on your Sandbed? I’m curious I’m trying to get my corals to look like that.
I have had 2 Algae Blennies and both have died. They wouldn’t eat anything and basically starved to death. I don’t know why? There’s plenty of algae on the glass, rocks etc, plus feeding mixture of frozen foods, spirulina, grazer tablets, nori seaweed and still no luck. All the other fish, invertebrates etc flourishing. Any advice will be appreciated
Hi Andrew, Somehow it died at some time while being absolutely fat and chubby, don't know what happened to him.. The dragonets have been devoured by a Decorator Crab that I bought. But that was years ago :)
Thanks!
Your spinning algae ball is fascinating to me, I never seen one of those.

Aww that's sad to hear, but good to hear you liked the video regardless and are considering a new one!
I read they only have a two to three year life span.
i have a lawnmower blenny also great personality and comical to watch mine loves to eat nori
Yeah I agree, they really are nice to have! And indeed Nori is also something they love, but my Foxface just shreds it apart haha
@@DutchReefer Does the lawnmower blenny also eat chaeto?

Beautiful tank
Great video as usual. I really enjoy you focus Friday vids.😎😎😎
Thanks for the message, appreciate it!
Much the same as my Starry Blenny.. Great character and very inquisitive.
Yeah Starry Blenny that's the one I referred to as well, great species too!!
Looove the dragon nets, have never been able to keep those alive.
They are indeed hard to keep alive for longer than a year :(

They are great fish for a reef tank
Dave's Nano Tanks David.harland.
I like your videos. Great information.
Thank you, love your nickname heh!
amazing tank....
What is the mint green coral or anemone in the far right? Stunning
That's a Toadstool soft coral, Sacropython
Great video again!
Is this Tunze care magnet stay in the tank all the time?
Thanks John! Yeah it is, has been for over a year, no issues :)
@@DutchReefer Thanks!
What was the food that was stuck on your front glass
It's Masstick! A product by Easyreefs. It's also in my latest video :)
Subscribed! Nano reefer here! Still making videos?
Thank you!! And well I wasn't for a while, but I'm back now with a new tank! Nano's are cool by the way :)
@@DutchReefer thanks! first time having an aquarium. nano is definitely easier as a newbie!
Hey man how’s your Blenny doing right now? What about the dragonet? How big were they when you got them?
Hi Andrew, Somehow it died at some time while being absolutely fat and chubby, don't know what happened to him.. The dragonets have been devoured by a Decorator Crab that I bought. But that was years ago :)
@@DutchReefer ahh okay sorry to hear about your losses regardless. :( How big was the Blenny when you got it? If it was big maybe it died of old age.
great video, i have 3 types of bunnies in my tank, red sea reefer 525xl?
Thanks! Yeah it's a 525XL, and rabbitfish are cool!

Is that large toadstool on the right hand side still sulking matey ?
Yeah it's on and off really, the one day it is super nice and then it starts shedding skin again. I guess it's a phase :P
Do you keep your light on a reverse light cycle to your tank or do you run it all the time in your sump?
No it's on 24/7, I read that because macro algae are fairly simple plants they can take it
Would a lawnmower blenny eat your macroalgae? I want one to deal with hair algae.@@DutchReefer
@@johnatella8498hmm good question. I can't vouch for all blennies but they should leave macros alone!
I've had one for the past 6 weeks but he will not eat any spirulina tablets or LRS seaweed or any food that I feed the other fish.
Hmm that's quite odd. Do you see it eating other algea or picking the rocks in your tank?
What is the submersible light u have on the chaeto? Thx
That was a Tunze 8850!
what's the names of corals growing on your back panel, pls?
On the left there's Green Star Polyp, and on the right a Cyphastrea and a Montipora Confusa
@@DutchReefer Thank you...i like the effect, i might try too...so you simply glue a frag on the panel?
Yeah pretty much that's it! It helps if there are already some coraline algae!
👌🏻
They like to play peekaboo.
I woke up this morning to see my maxi-mini feasting on my blenny.
Smh...
Damn, that's harsh.. Mine ate a foxface not too long ago :(
@@DutchReefer
Sure is... It's controlled chaos in a reef tank.
Please provide the water test data.
