Yeah like when kit said how they always share silent reactions together. I was like THEY DO I’ve seen it. They do it all the time during interviews. Like when the person who plays mal (sad to say I don’t know he’s name) told amita that she could work in his hospital. Both kit and Freddy looked at each other like what? Lol
I usually hate it when adaptations change everything but this is one of those rare times where i much prefer the adaptions over the books. Love this cast so much and the chemistry they all have together
I think for me it's about respecting the source material. The plot might change, but the characters and world are on point. You could say the vibe is correct 😅
I have never come across a cast that respects the original source material and their characters this much as this one. They know how to embody the story and give the fans a performance they know it will love. We’re lucky to have them portray our favorite characters, for real.
It's probably because they have all read the books and so they understand their characters very well, where as in other adaptations, MANY actors prefer not to read the books.
The way they respect their characters and the world makes me so happy! Mad respect for everyone's work and does look like S2 is going to be even better than S1. Can’t wait
They casted perfectly and not just in matching the characters looks and quality acting, but in actors who really respect the source material, but also adapt to changes in a way that honors the story and feels faithful to their characters as well. Given that the crows storyline in season one was created from scratch for the show, it tied in as well as if it had been a part of the books (hats off to the writers there too), and they really shined. Such a great adaptation!
This might be my favorite interview so far from this season's press. All their responses and interactions are so much fun. Amita hitting Jessie, Jessie's little growl, Kit's faces 😂 I just love them so much.
The second season was phenomenal!!! I can’t wait to see where the show takes this story. I loved what Jessie said about the show giving book readers something new, I’m a book fan and am really enjoying the show exploring a different avenue from them!!
I never thought I would write this as a passionate bookworm: But I find the series better than the books! In my eyes, the books are aimed more at a younger audience. Alina is much more naive, needs more time to grow. The series is simply brilliant. I've never seen so many great actors in one bunch, breathing life into such lovable characters. For me, the books have laid the groundwork to create a wonderful fantasy world in a fabulous series. Season 2 in particular often brought a tear to my eye. Many thanks for the great realisation!
They need to promote this show without crazy book fans being mad that they didn't adapt everything from the books. I did rlly like Shadow and bone but for something to be good TV, I hope they have a good spin and do make it a bit different from the books. However, jesper kaz and inej are very much unique characters I have never seen come to life so interestingly before. I hope they have good screen time
From what I can tell most fans are actually quite happy with the changes that have been made in the show. I've heard so many people say that they actually like the show more than the books. (Myself included) Or ok to be more precise The show is better than the shadow and bones books. But the Six of Crows books are better than the show. It's somewhere in between.
I'm a book fan but I understand why they did not follow the book page by page. And I saw season 1 and it was still close to the book with some changes but still same in whole point of view and combining the shadow and bone with the crows. Plus im happy with the changes too. And well I wasn't fan of Mal much so.. I'm hoping but... Yeah.. 😂😂 Edit: And you need to check and research cause I'm pretty sure many book fans are happy with the show and they are also the reason of the hype of this show. I saw many fan arts that changed the art they previously did closed to the faces of the actors from the show. And many more others.
8:54 “Actually this is the third time I’ve come back to a character” Me being mildly obsessed with Ben Barnes: “Well actually it’s your fourth. Caspian in the Narnia films, Logan in Westworld, Billy Russo/Jigsaw in The Punisher, and now the Darkling. But third time in a TV series I guess.”
I loved season 2 even more than 1 cause I love character development. It was darker and more real. It is also true to how we are as people. There is this darkness due to pain, but we also possess light and these characters were dealing with their inner demons and trying to make the best decision based on what they knew. I loved the hallucination scene with the crows and Kaz and Inej’s love was powerful. The unsaid words were more powerful. I also thought the Darkling when he mentioned peace at the end, was heartbreaking. He had suffered for many years and Alina had been a source of peace for him. He had truly loved her. He had in his own way also tried to protect Alina which was a twist for me. The writing and delivery were all perfect.
I have read numerous books and seen their love adaptations. One thing I realised is that a character inside a book and the same character on televison are two different entities. I really love the characters inside the books and I love how the entire cast has created the best version of this characters in real life. I cannot imagine any other people playing this parts....
i like how the show is different but they're staying true to their characters and the world and it only enriches what the books give us (except for when they told us aleksander's name right away lol)
I feel kind of stupid for not realizing Leigh made a cameo in season 1... 💀Also so excited for season 2, I have literally re-watched season 1 three times in the last week.
a part of the show came up and Aline said "I will destroy the only thing you have left" and then RIGHT AFTER THAT a Mr. Clean add came on and it was like "Mr. Clean magic eraser" and I laughed SO HARD
Well, unless you've read the books beforehand... I already knew that part, I started watching s2 just yesterday (and am about to finish it), by the end of 5 going into 6, I was like, "Hurry this up already! MAL IS THE FIREBIRD!!!" and then Mal tells Alina and she tells Nikolai 😎😎
@@Mr.JeffreyEchala Yes! I love how everyone's storyline connects. The casting for Wylan, Nikolai and the twins Tolya and Tamar was great too. With Wylan and Jesper's dynamic, I was like, "I'm totally okay with this!" and then there's Kaz and Inej after the battle and their scene there before she left... 😮If Shadow and Bone is greenlit for s3, I am most excited to see how the last few chapters of Ruin and Rising will play out on screen. The last chapters of Ruin and Rising and Crooked Kingdom are coming up, and we still have to see The Crows (minus Inej) break Matthias out of the prison... JAIL BREAK!!!!
I’m personally not even an Alina Starkov hater, but Jessie makes Alina so much more likeable and interesting than she is in the book
YES
I'll never read the book then 😅😂
Not gonna lie I don’t agree. I don’t know if it’s the bad writing at times but I do not think she is a good actress
@@Gokhan202 that's what i thought at first. Idk if it's because she's a bad actress or not, I think she's just average..
@@windyks you’re right just an average actress
I love Kit and Freddy's friendship and how their dynamic on and off screen! Loved their answers in this discussion a lot!
Yeah like when kit said how they always share silent reactions together. I was like THEY DO I’ve seen it. They do it all the time during interviews. 4:33 idk why I absolutely loved Freddy's explanation like that metaphor was amazing
He is charming af
He actually read the books.
Because is channeling Kaz's intelligence + his = a very sharpe mind

Kit making a playlist for Jesper is absolutely amazing, wish we could listen to it - I’d love to know what songs he thinks fits with the character!
If this show doesn't get a season 3, we riot
i love the cast SO MUCH i can't express how perfect they are

I love the dynamic of the cast so much, they are so perfect
"you're the gun guy"
"That's dangerous"
Oh I love Kit
Their chemistry is just immaculate 😂 I love them so much!!
i just noticed soemthing going thru s1 and s2. s1 ep 8 is called "no mourners" s2 ep 8 is "no funerals" HOW CUTEEEE
Freddie is so right tho, Milo was such a “cultural reset” 😫👌

Omg! Completely agree!
strange because like, six of crows definitely feels like it was for an older audience. so for them to mesh that together, suppose it makes sense.
Freddy said Wesper!!! I'M NOT SCREAMING, YOU'RE SCREAMING!!!!
I LITERALLY AM SCREAMING
I’m definitely screaming!!!!
*happy volcra screeches*

@@coffeewithoutcafeine 4:33 when he was talking about the crows expanding
It's actually the 4th time for Ben to come back to a character. It was Caspian, Logan, Billy Russo and now the Darkling.
Alina looks so much more mature and angry this season, I rewatched the first season and she looked so innocent and afraid, big change
17:08 imagine this with Jack Wolfe now that he's Wylan
