When theiry Henry was playing their were some pretty good strikers and players at that time. shevchenko van nistelrooy Ronaldo nazario Ronaldinho eto etc Not like the last decade just Messi ronaldo
Ronaldo's prime was in the 90's not the same time Henry's, so 04, 05 and 06 Henry was better. Just watch what happened in Arsenal x Real in 06 Shev never scored more than him Nistelrooy was a great scorer but Henry was way more better overall player Ronaldinho was the only true competition but in 04 he didn't win nothing and Henry won golden boot, and a premier league without losing one game. He should have won
Messi and Ronaldo stand above others during their era, not because of lack of competition. Zlatan is a beast and yet I can't think of an year when he managed to beat them. Neymar, Mbappe, Ribery, Robben, Suarez, Levandowski, Aguero, Etoo. There are plenty of great forwards in this generation. Messi and Ronaldo are just too good.

Ronaldo won World Cup 2002 with 8 goals while Henry scored 0 and France did shit. 2003 Arsenal did not win the League while Van Nistelrooy scored more. At the same time Nedved carried Juventus to a Championship and a CL final. 2004 Schevchenko was the best goalscorer in Italy which was a stronger league then PL at that time. Henry did not prove anything in Euro 2004 and another fail in CL. Deco did carry Porto to victory. 2005 Chelsea took over in England and Liverpool won CL. Lampard and Gerrard was their key players. At the same time Ronaldinho was inhuman and dominated in spain. 2006 Ronaldinho was still having a show and his team won against Arsenal aswell. In World Cup Henry did good but Zidane was even better. Cannavaro did a fantastic tournament and his team won, while he also won the Italian League as a keyplayer. Shevchenko actually had a better goalration then Henry in CL. Van Nistelrooy had alot better and so Raul. Even Inzaghi had better. It's clear that people dosn't care about Premier League only, it was the third best leauge back then and if Henry and Arsenal did not succeed in Champions League or he did something special in WC or Euro-tournaments he would not win the price.

Modric didn't carry Croatia at all. He captained then. But it's absolutely delusional to think he carried them. That team has Rakitic, Mandzukic, all great players. He didn't carry them.

Modric is anyway doing very will this season witout Ronaldo, currently ahead of Barcelona in the league and with 1 more trophy this season. Someone literally try to argue with me and try say nedved played better 😪
Neither did I. But it was surely something political back in the days. I remember that in 1996 Ronaldo lost it by one vote to Matthias Sammer who did nothing special. Fans will come and talk about Champions League victory but he wasnt in squad 6 games of 11 games like he missed 17 games in the league. While that season Ronaldo scored 52 goals in 53 games including national team. Which was one of the best seasons in history. And moreover he scored a sensational goal against Compostela. Even his assists was outstanding.
@@sholito9 Nedved performance against Barcelona and Madrid in Ucl quarter and semi was out of the world . U never Watched him play, so stop crying .Henry was a big flop in Ucl knockout and International tournament, thats why he never won .
Henry truly deserved it in 02-03. He had like 24 goals and 20 assists in the league and he was absolutely sensational that year.
In 06, he was also unbelievable. I don't think Buffon or Cannavaro deserved it over him in total body of work. He was robbed twice, in my opinion.

He was Inter's playmaker, Milito was the best scorer and was fantastic but Sneijder arguably contributed more to Inter's success that year than Milito. In fact, journalists and critics pretty much all favored Sneijder, Messi got it from Team Captains and National Team Coaches who mostly votes for who their favorite players are, disregarding what they did during the year or what the players achievements are during the period. That's why you'll see ridiculous claims like voting Benzema as the winner in a year where he has nothing to claim for, the same can be told for a lot of players...

There are a few exceptionally talented technical players you can name over the past 20yrs or so, but in addition to his superior technical ability for me Henry’s PACE and unmitigated GUILE is what has always made him my favorite all player.
What are you talking about lewa, aguero, zlatan are just as good as shevchenko, and vannistelrooy so your statement is pointless. Name one premier league player that has won ballon in the past 20 years? Even gerrald couldn’t win it and he won the champions league for Liverpool pretty much
@@Al-oe7md Michael Owen.
