  • In this episode, Troy Sharpe, CFP®, interviews Dr. Lindsey Mitchell as they talk about the psychology of retirement. What to expect when going into retirement and how you can manage to break through the changes.
    Troy Sharpe is the president of Oak Harvest Financial Group, a local family-owned financial services firm. Troy leads a team of experienced professionals, analysts, and support staff to help clients create customized financial strategies that align with their unique retirement goals.
    Troy holds a Series 65 license as well as a Texas life insurance license. He also earned a finance degree from Florida State University and completed his Certified Financial Planning certification at the Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University. Additionally, Troy is a Registered Financial Consultant with the International Association of Registered Financial Consultants.

    This information needs to be updated to 2021 version. First of all no one has the financial end figured out even if they THINK they do. Our economy is in chaos. Inflation is escalating rapidly and some are predicting hyperinflation very soon.
    As for the psychology of retirement, the only thing I got out of this is that I will be in a "honeymoon phase" for 2-3 months. Awesome, because I am on week 4. Now let's talk about the "psychology " affect on so many of us who were forced to retire before we had planned because of mandates. I did like that you said it takes about 18 months to get into a groove for this new phase of life. That was something to be aware of.
