Honestly, I think this is pretty much what the producers were after. I mean I'm pretty sure they already have preauditions and knew they had to put a unique group somehow to draw interest to audience. They think a band in an idol show would probably fit that category. Shows like PD101 contact companies to send in trainees. PD101 brought in actors and even models w/o trainee experience. They probably have some kind of storyline in mind for entertainment. Like how would the disadvantaged survive in this set-up.
RBW CEO definitely has an eye for unique talents. Even i could feel their charisma even if they were nervous. I guess it matters what kind of people was looking for and it wasn't a raw performance like what these boys just served.

I don't think these judges understand the beauty of live music, playing instruments, enjoying yourself intead of frantically trying to remember a choreography, honestly they just feel attracted to all that flashy stuff, I don't like it.
yeah, that's what shows like The Unit are all about. showcasing and promoting flashy marketable groups to Korean audiences. this group would have gotten a better response if they had tried out for a show like Superband, where live music is understood and appreciated. anyway, they managed to debut as a band (ONEWE) so it didn't matter in the end.
mainly because that's the group they are trying to form. im sure they appreciate the fact that they can sing live, and can enjoy themselves on stage. but they want a group that showcases singing and dancing in their performance in the first place. it's a show to give another chance to failed idols. and idols sing and dance, they cant make use of their instrumental skills on a performance unless it's an award show performance. im sure they can see how great they perform as a band and all they said was they dont fit the program they cant just forget the aim of the show, but they still let them in

Well, there's better platform for band to show their talent. or better they join Kpopstar or Korean National band competition. Interpark, Rolling Hall, Gogos is good place to start.
Or maybe it's just an strategy.. even if they don't do well in The Unit, at least they left a good first impression (for those who don't know them).. Even if they cant dance, The Unit is a famous show and surely a lot of people searched for their music and MVs after their performance... Also, a lot of artists join these kind of shows just to get their names known, if they do well in the competition is "super bonus" xD.. But I still think they can do well in The Unit, they just need to improve their dancing skills.. those places you mentioned are known for receiving indie artists, but if you check MAS stuff you will see they are more like k-pop band even if they started as independent group.. they started as busking singers MAS0094 and joined an independent lable, then changed to MAS when they signed under RBW Ent (as far as i know.. feel free to correct me anyone), same company as Mamamoo~ Also, MAS member Son Dongmyung participated in "Produce 101" 2 as RBW trainee.. so I think The Unit can be a good show for them.. i hope so :)
MAS has always performing on live club, like rolling hall or evans, since 2015. and they starts with busking on sideroad and parks around seoul. but dongmyung saying the stages for bands in Korea are limited is not wrong too. i think showing different side of them through this program is good. we, as fans, missed them being on the live club stages. but they recently signed to a mid-sized agency and maybe this is just something they have to go through before they can go back releasing their own music again.
vernandaa I also think It's okay for them to be on The Unit because they can show other sides of themselves and get more attention! They're a Band but still Kpop Idols in the end😊✌🏾

Well, there's better platform for band to show their talent. or better they join Kpopstar or Korean National band competition. Interpark, Rolling Hall, Gogos is good place to start.
Agree, this show is so dancing+singing idol-centered and I don't think band fits this
Or maybe it's just an strategy.. even if they don't do well in The Unit, at least they left a good first impression (for those who don't know them).. Even if they cant dance, The Unit is a famous show and surely a lot of people searched for their music and MVs after their performance... Also, a lot of artists join these kind of shows just to get their names known, if they do well in the competition is "super bonus" xD.. But I still think they can do well in The Unit, they just need to improve their dancing skills.. those places you mentioned are known for receiving indie artists, but if you check MAS stuff you will see they are more like k-pop band even if they started as independent group.. they started as busking singers MAS0094 and joined an independent lable, then changed to MAS when they signed under RBW Ent (as far as i know.. feel free to correct me anyone), same company as Mamamoo~ Also, MAS member Son Dongmyung participated in "Produce 101" 2 as RBW trainee.. so I think The Unit can be a good show for them.. i hope so :)

MAS has always performing on live club, like rolling hall or evans, since 2015. and they starts with busking on sideroad and parks around seoul.
but dongmyung saying the stages for bands in Korea are limited is not wrong too. i think showing different side of them through this program is good.
we, as fans, missed them being on the live club stages. but they recently signed to a mid-sized agency and maybe this is just something they have to go through before they can go back releasing their own music again.

people don't actually like band no? how sad. How can't they see the band's talent? it's not so easy singing with your instruments, it's just the same with idols singing while dancing but people can't see them fairly. seems like they care about idols and not bands
