You can't go wrong playing in release order. That's the order that almost everybody plays and the intended order. I'm not even a COD player, but I'm enjoying your play throughs of these games.
Glad you're playing this in release order, it "closes" the first Black Ops story before you move on the next ones! If you're interested I translated the Portuguese/Spanish lines from the first mission: 25:29 "Get in line! I've got orders for you!" "I'm gonna kill all of our enemies!" "What are you doing, idiot? Get back in line! Enemy soldiers were spotted in the area. You, is that the way to hold your rifle? You call yourself a soldier? Get back in line. Are you still crying for your mother? Do you want to be a child or be a man?" "Over here, we found something!" "Move, search the whole area for them!" 29:42 "The American is telling you not to move." "He thinks he's in control... but he's not." "The Americans know nothing about loyalty. Perhaps we... should demonstrate it."
I personally know him most as the Vortigaunts from Half-Life 2 Episode 2. A shame. But, he was already up there in age back then. May he rest in peace.
Glad you’re playing in release order, especially with BO6 being out now. There are major moments in BO2 that are talked about in BO6 that wouldn’t make sense had you have played in chronological order.
Seeing Woods again was truly a surprise, but certainly a welcome one 10:51 Jonas Savimbi was a prominent figure during the Angola's Independence War and the Angola's Civil War
So in the career record you can see choices made, no spoilers obviously as it only shows missions you've already completed. But it can be interesting to skim over. Also, the giant boxes that look like minecraft blocks, are ammo caches, and they're EVERYWHERE you shouldn't be low on ammo at any point in this game
The decisions you make in this game actually affect the ending. They’re not two or three fixed endings, the ending is dependent on each choice during each mission.
@ SPOILERS . . . . . I think it’s the one where Menendez is imprisoned, Karma survives, Farid survives instead of Harper (unfortunately), killing DeFalco before he escapes, shooting Mason in the leg instead of head, injuring Briggs, completing all those drone missions.
Glad you’re playing this first. It will make some aspects of 6 when you get to it make a lot more sense. Also side note the moment I launched the game and saw that intro I knew the game was gonna be amazing. It made me actually feel really bad for the villian. It’s the reason why I think menendez is my favorite cod villian.
Been looking forward to this playthrough, so happy you decided not to skip it. (It’s best to play in release order IMO) Easily one of the best CoD games of the 2010s.
cant wait to watch this, just wanna say these call of duty playthroughs and war movie reactions have been one of my favorite things to watch recently in my free time. keep up the good work!
2:51 I'm pretty sure I didn't see anyone telling you to play in chronological order, maybe 1 or 2 people but whatever, I'm happy you decided to play in release order. You did the right thing
So they don't outright confirm whether or not Mason did kill Kennedy, but they did heavily imply it and left the rest for us to piece together. I'm pretty sure he did, all the evidence we have suggests so. I think it's better to let us figure it out, rather than just tell us directly. Bo2 is absolutely amazing. I'm glad you decided to play it, it hits a lot harder when playing it right after Bo1.
You made the correct decision. The story is told best through the release order, because otherwise you miss references. If you had played Cold War, you would have missed some things that happen during this game.
As a people of Myanmar, the “Celerium” mission is very weird for us. Because the location is displayed in khakaborzi, which is in Kachin state of Northern Myanmar. But we can see the pagodas and temples from Bagan where they are actually located in Mandalay region, the middle of Myanmar. When I played this game, I am very proud of being Burmese. But after playing that mission, I cried out of laughter as the geography and location of the mission is presented wrongfully with the actual one. Another wronged fact is khakaborzi is an ice mountain with 19295 ft which is the highest mountain in Southeast Asia, not the one with green trees. And the surrounding area is the icy area, not with heavy rainy land.
Michael Rooker voices Harper probably know him from the walking dead Merle Dixon but he's in lots of movies as well Days of Thunder, cliffhanger, Guardians of the Galaxy....
I'm glad the rope climbing is as cool as I remember it and Harper is voiced by Michel Rooke. He played Daryl's brother in The Walking dead and Yondo in Guardians of the Galaxy, at least that's where I know him from. Also no the Nano gloves are not a thing in real life, however there are exoskeletons that can help with movements. I reckon you could intergrate one in a graphene glove to really boost your grip strength and therefore your rock climbing ability
Nah no way, of all the million times I’ve watched and played this game. There is a character called Chloe Lynch and I just realised she is voiced by a person who played the pink ranger in my childhood power rangers (time force) series….
Also here's the timeline order, World at war/Vangaurd, Black ops, Cold War, Black ops 2 flashbacks, Black ops 6, MW 2019, MW2 newest one, MW3 newest one, Black ops 2 future missions, Black ops 3. Also Zombies the Dark Aether story is also in the campaign universe. Those timeliness run as such, Vanguard campaign then zombies follows, cold war campaign then zombies follows, Bo6 campaign zombies follows, MWZ takes place between MW 2019 campaign and MW2's campaign.
This game has multiple endings, it’s good you decided to play BO2 first instead of future installments, the canonical ending is spoiled in those games.
Sadly they do not address the assassination thing because technically nobody is supposed to know about that except for Dragovic but he is already dead.
Here's a little Black Ops timeline for you: Black Ops II takes place between 1986-1989 and in 2025. Black Ops Cold War is set in 1981. Black Ops 6 occurs in 1991. But it's best to play Black Ops II first because it explains details like how Woods survived his "death" after Bo1, that happening 1973. Cold War and Black Ops 6 never tell you that and also few other things, as both games assume you've already played Black Ops II. I hope this helps you understand better. But belive me, you did the right call by playing Bo2 before CW and Bo6.
Hello again from Vietnam Teegan !! So i want to suggesting you on playing a different first person shooting game is the 2014 remake of Wolfenstein the new order and it's sequel Wolfenstein the new colossus !! Have a great day Teegan !!!
Personally, after BO2, I think that you should play the original Modern Warfare trilogy (Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare [2007], Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 [2009], and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 [2011]) before playing Cold War and BO6. Not that those games are connected, but I just think it would be good to clear out the original games first.
Not sure if you've already finished the game by now and are just editing them, but definitely pay VERY CLOSE ATTENTION to the story. Don't get lost and unknowing of what's happening. It will heavily affect your experience not just with BO2 but Cold War and BO6 as well. Trust me
Hi Lite, just so you know, it's obviously best to play the games in order (well you can skip Black ops 3 (but you could still do it after Black ops 6)) and just by the opening Black ops 2 is best to play after one, since you know why Woods is alive. But that said, Black Ops 2 can't even be 100% canon due to some unexplained thing throughout the games, and some things that don't make sense in those timeline, as well as the current timeline. (I don't wanna spoil anything so I just say it like that) And I don't know if you are aware, but Vanguard, Modern Warfare 2019, 2022 and 2023 are all "canon" to Black Ops 6, but aren't to Black Ops 2.
Fun fact, jonas savimbi is a real person btw, I'm saying that because the real Jonas savimbi passed away 22 years ago in a clash in Angola. Real story btw
Better to play BO2 first for sanity's sake on the timeline. Release order is better for new players. And this campaign is amazing, you'll love it. 😇 This game released in 2012. Just turned 12 years old the other day!
How is the interface compared to MOH? Is it just as good, better? And the historicity? And playability? By comparison? I'm unduly die-hard on MOH and its paratroopers from Vanguard, Airborne*, and European Assault!
You can't go wrong playing in release order. That's the order that almost everybody plays and the intended order. I'm not even a COD player, but I'm enjoying your play throughs of these games.
Yeah but you can just skip bo3😂
@@alarrim29574 Yeah Black ops 3 messed the campaign up only good thing is the zombies maybe multiplayer

Rip Tony Todd.
May he verbally assault everyone at the pearly gates

Ed Harris was unavailable at the time, Hudson is voiced by Michael Keaton (Batman 1989, Beetlejuice) in Black Ops 2.
I still think Mason is a huge badass for the moment at 30:04. He countered the hell out of Raul's reversal.

The only thing that can kill woods. Is woods
Woods: "YOU CAN'T KILL ME!"
