Rean got no choice but to fight her 1 on 1. You can see that Rean can even beat Aurelia himself, with his power of course. She even gave Rean a quite well comment on his strength.

Rean not learn much, he is but a pawn for Osborn. He did not even get stronger. McBurn still own him like nothing, despite they share unhuman abilities. ryugajin not really, Rean isnstronger than everyone actually. Justifying every time he and New C7 are saved is easy. Its an ambush, Rean is cannonically actually stronger than everyone in C7. Ambushes are effective, and in most cutscenes, when there effect runs out, they restart getting demolished (eg. sara in CS2 in act 1-3 against mcburn)
ryugajin basically, yeah, ogre makes canonically stronger than everyone (not counting dk and the fact that Rean becomes one of th emost powerful characters in the series in sen iv)
You forget that everyone in class 7 grows in power exponentially. So of course they’re going to be crazy strong. However in the story, Rean is still powerful than everybody in class 7 including Sara. And just like the guy above me said, Rean becomes one of the most powerful characters in the series by the end of CS4 even without his ogre form

Actually this whole scene shows that Rean is still immature in his decisions and prone to self-sacrifice when there's no need for that.
