It's crazy how much time you put in on that bench. It is appreciated. Even if it's a rifle or caliber I'd never be interested in I still watch because you can get more out of a rifle with factory ammo than a lot of reloaders could ever dream. 👍
@@DasGoodSoup because the average shooter doesn't shoot .25" groups whether they are a reloader or not. He can usually get a .50" from factory ammo consistently and often times better than that.
The only factory ammo I shoot is 22LR cuz I am poor. It is still very cool to see slinger reviews with off the shelf ammo for a realistic comparison between brands n models.
This might have already been suggested, but when testing all copper boooolots, start with a clean barrel. Like clean to bare steel, Barnes and and Hammer actually note this for the best groups. All copper bullets tend to not like gilding copper from jacketed bullets in the barrel. You can go from all copper to jacketed but not the other way.
WhoTee, I've had nothing but great results from 165 grainers. I have an old 1968 Model 70 Winchester 30-06 that love them, especially those 165 BTSP, it also loves the newer SSTs. Love the channel man, keep up the good work.

Try a 165 in the copper. I'm a Barnes TTSX fan. As you know copper is lighter than led so a 165 gr bullet in copper is longer than a 165gr bullet in led which changes the BC of the bullet. I haven't checked on the 30 calibers but I have with my 243 the 85gr Barnes TTSX is a little longer than the 100gr led bullets so I'm faster with better accuracy. May I add that our military men and women should never be forgotten. They are the best in the world hands down. If our leaders of this nation want to take care of anybody in the world then our military men and women should take priority. May God Bless Our Military Men And Women Who Paid The Ultimate Price So That We May Be Free. May God bless all of the families of soldiers here at home and abroad. Thanks Adam for the videos and I hope you and your family along with the WHO TEE WHO family has a safe Memorial Day.
@tolt1776 Yes, 165 gr of copper and 165 gr of led are the same but copper is lighter than led so the bullet will be slightly longer. Copper's density is 8.96 grams per cubic centimeter. Lead density is 11.4 grams per cubic centimeter. Copper and lead bullets of the same weight, the copper bullet is typically longer.
@maxloader5278 fairly certain you can't have "longer" bullets...they wouldn't fit in the barrel? One can have longer bullets in a cartridge designed for them..6.5, prc, etc....but a 308 copper and a 308 lead are the same dimensions otherwise it wouldn't work.
I have a Brn and Rem 30-06. Both of those prefer 165 - 168gr projectiles. 150 gr is ok/serviceable and 180 gr is ok. 165 gr is the magic number for both of those. But, as we know, guns can be persnickety about ammo. Thank you for the video - well done.
I’ve tried that American whitetail in a few different caliber slingers of mine and could never get good groups. Always have had good luck with any one of federal’s flavours
I have had relatively good luck with the Hornady American Whitetail in 308 & 270 . Using 150 SP and 140 SP . The rifles in the 308 were Mossberg Patriot , Christianson Arms Mesa Joe & Remington 783 . In the 270 win I used my old stand by a Santa Barbara Mauser the thing can be a tack driver until she gets warm then things open up.
winchestrer used to have a all copper hollow point. My 3006 loved it and it's excellent on deer. They replaced the copper hollow points with the copper tipped bullets. Ive tried them in my 06 and .308 and out of both guns they both hated these new red tipped copper bullets. i was using 150 grains for both. Luckily my 06 likes the barnes ttsx with hardly any point of impact change so i have something lined up after i use up all of my hollow points. great videos man
Good budget option rifle. Very good groups for the most part. I would look at that Whitetail from Hornady again. That looked like it wanted to group but that 2nd shot drifted off. Thank you. Are you going to chronograph any of these? Oh never mind I just remembered what happened to your chronograph...lol.
Awesome shooter! I’m surprised you haven’t had any luck with 165 grainers. Each of my 30 slingers, as well as my buddies WsM slingers, like them. Did you reshoot the 1.87” group to see if it did better?

@WhoTeeWho As someone who has tried a lot of different ammo, what do you think about Hornady's new 'drag variability reduction technology'? Its supposed to reduce the number of 'flyers' like with those 165gr rounds. I watched their podcast introducing it. It looks to me like it acts like a 'drag reducing aerospike'. Have you heard anything about that? Have you tried them? I'd like to see a video where you test them against bullets you know make tight groups from your most accurate rifles. It would be cool to get bc as similar as you can when choosing which rounds to put up against the new Hornady bullets. Thanks for another fun video!
