    Can you help me this question please
    The first four moments of a distribution about the value 4 of the variable are -15,17,-30 and 108
    a,find the first four moments about the mean
    b,find 1st for moment about the origin

      Hi
      This question is based on specific formulas that are not discussed in the video.
      Will upload a video solving this question within a week.

      Hello
      The above data provided is incorrect.
      Because that gives second central moment as a negative value and that is not possible. Since second moment about mean is variance and variance is always positive.
      Will upload a video with a different example.

    I have a question that if the arbitrary no is not given in a set of given data then can we take any value for A?

    • @apparacademy4616
      @apparacademy4616  3 года назад +1

      When we are saying raw moments we are simply talking about moments about an arbitrary point. Raw Moments will vary with arbitrary point.
      Moments about arbitrary point 2 will be different from moment about aribtrary point 4.
      So if we are asked to calculate raw moments, arbitrary point will always be mentioned because answer will change with each value of arbitrary point.

    Mam,you made a mistake in your video, when you wrote the formula of Moments about arbitrary point for ungrouped data
    You didn’t wrote r in the power of (X-A).
    Though it’s not a major mistake.but yea i think that, my comment will be helpful for other students.
