Vladimir Nabokov “I was the shadow of the waxwing slain By the false azure in the windowpane; I was the smudge of ashen fluff -and I Lived on, flew on, in the reflected sky. And from the inside, too, I'd duplicate Myself, my lamp, an apple on a plate: Uncurtaining the night, I'd let dark glass Hang all the furniture above the grass, And how delightful when a fall of snow Covered my glimpse of lawn and reached up so As to make chair and bed exactly stand Upon that snow, out in that crystal land!” ― Vladimir Nabokov, Pale Fire Thought I'd add this bit of absolutely magnificent, complex and revelatory verbal magic from the august Master Nabokov. God Bless.
I am very driven to hear audio clips of CS Lewis's writings and broadcasts. I have found that many (or most) RUclips CS Lewis channels in a suspect way present the audio as CS Lewis "actually" speaking. The human or AI speaker then adds commentary here and there without clarifying that it is commentary and not the actual words of CS Lewis! It destroys the verisimilitude of the information or actually destroys the purity of the information spoken. I would really appreciate it if maybe Hillsdale College could direct us to RUclips or other places to hear CS Lewis that is attributed accurately from where, what and when the excerpt comes and is presented with a transparent honest way to us. Thank you and God Bless!
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
