Not one usually for modern symphonic music but this was certainly an 'I-opener'!! Love all the percussion, love the wind instruments, love the bow with the branches signifying we are in this together, all of us!! Mostly, & always, love the connection between the conductor & her team. Sorry not to fully understand the mural at the back but am sure there's lots of meaning there.
The mural is a large graphic score. The markings are interpreted as sound gestures that are not specific like in traditional music notation. Dina gave us suggestions to how the sounds would proceed and the rest was improvisatory. We had a workshop with the composer and he explained all of the symbols. I would encourage you also to visit the KAG for more. Thank you for watching and listening!
The resulting music is utterly trivial and devoid of any brilliance. It is not even suitable for the accompaniment of dancing monkeys, jugglers, mountebanks, swallowers of swords and snakes in public squares and at dirty street corners.
This isn't personal I hope but if it is, I hope you 2 can let bygones be bygones. Because some board just gave the composer a HUGE prize. Lol anywayssssss.

Primates can't be trained. Humans are Primates. Read it the first time as count...without an o.
