    Yeah, Greenwood Leflore was the Choctaw chief in the 1830s when the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit was signed (the treaty that gave big sections of Mississippi land to the United States, in exchange for reservations built for the Choctaws who didn't move to Oklahoma).

      Some of GL relatives don't speak well of him, because "He sold his own people out". Lived like a king in his mansion, truly. Buried on the grounds but there is a report that his grave was robbed, the corpse was taken, and no one knows where Greenwood Leflore is actually buried.

    What was your Mom’s maiden name? You said she grew up on Crockett Ave. in Greenwood. I did too and was wondering if I knew any of your family.
