    Beautiful! He was good enough to qualify for an international competition and poetry is ALWAYS subjective. In my 'opinion' this is a hopeful and nostalgic song.

    The great John Charles recorded a very worthy rendition of this song. Not surprisingly he sang many french art songs in recital during his career. So it wasn't all "Open Road" "The green eyed dragon," and "Home on the range".
