    I'm not a Rocket player nor do I intend to be, but this is hands down one of the best guides I've seen for Rivals so far. Well spoken AND with captions (I'm deaf in one ear and have hearing loss in the other so the CC helps SO much. Not many creators put the time and effort in making CC so thank you very much.) Even though I don't plan on playing Rocket you have provided tips that apply to other heros as well that I can use. Also you showed actual gameplay with your talking points that help visual learners like myself understand what you are talking about. Gave great general tips as well. I'm surprised that you are a new channel with how much work that went into to this video. I will sub and can't wait for more content from you! (I can tell you are a fellow OW player not only by your pfp but how you called Rocket's ult "bongo" just like Orisa's OW 1 ult lol)

    No character in Rivals is “bad”. People just don’t know how to play them initially. I am happy that people like you learn how to master these characters and then share their knowledge, so they can get the spotlight. Thank you!

    Hands down best guide for Marvel Rivals. I really like how you take the time to break down the main priorities, since I think undertanding your hero's goals first is more useful than trying to optimize each ability.

    This guide is hands down the best I've come across in a digital sea of guide videos. Thank you for sharing your in-depth knowledge through practical examples. I particularly appreciate the specific escapes and methods to handle characters that give Rocket trouble, as well as the breakdown of priorities and general gameplay tips. If you master other characters (Cloak and Dagger maybe :D), please consider making more videos. It is gleefully ironic that the best guide doesn't claim it is the "best" unlike many others. Cheers!

    This is great. Below Diamond, I'd suggest a couple tweaks. Priority #2 may be healing co-support. I'd also say doing dmg to build ult is valuable. It's important to be careful not to trigger a reload because you were dealing dmg and now you need to heal. If I am low on healing balls I'll look to see if I can safely empty some of the clip.

  • @Jellyhead9000
    @Jellyhead9000 4 дня назад

    I really like the presentation, the game footage, the reasoning, the timestamps.
    Very well organized video.
    As a Rocket enthusiast myself, the one point I would disagree with is spacing to healbot vs taking kills yourself.
    If the team is in good shape, there are certain targets you can absolutely shred with rocket, this includes flying enemies if you can use your mobility to get above them. Typically, I only engage in these fights if my DPS are bad or lack awareness (flanking ironman setting up ult for example). Hulk/venom are also food for Rocket's gun at mid-range.
    As strategists, the calculation to consider when healing vs damaging is: "Will shooting this enemy result in more net health for my team than healing someone" If the answer is yes, then damaging that target = healing.

    • @Nage.
      @Nage.  3 дня назад +1

      Thank you! That is a very valid point. It all comes down to the state of the fight: who has more pressure in terms of health levels. Since overhealing won't contribute much when allies are healthy, shooting will apply more pressure.
      I had trouble identifying when it was safe for me to shoot targets when I was playing so I defaulted to easy mode healbotting from the back. There were too many times where I started shooting and then failed to realize my team was slowly dying in my peripheral and then we get wiped. In the new season I've started shooting a lot more Storms than expected though. Weaving shoots/heals from an aerial position with his wall running might be the way to dominate as Rocket.

    Another thing is opportunity cost of their divers targeting you. I find it hilarious how calm I am and how easy it is to live vs nearly every diver, so I like to play around with them when they dive me instead of outright running away. In their minds they probably think they almost have me or they're preventing me from healing, but neither is the case. Them spending so much time and resources on me basically takes them out of the fight for long periods. So try to master escape, but bait yourself at the same time by not being so elusive that they just ignore you.

    Amazing guide. At 16:26 did you mean enemy duelists, not enemy strategists?

    • @Nage.
      @Nage.  3 дня назад

      At 16:26, I did mean enemy strategists.
      I tried to keep the video short but the general idea to avoid dueling strategists is because if they are fighting you, they are not healing the team. If you keep healing your team and stay alive until the strategist chasing you gives up, the teams are essentially fighting a 5v6. Within those few seconds of enemy team with 1 healer, your team is very likely to get a kill or pressure them into poor positions.
      Alternatively, they could be distracting you while keeping heals on the team (Mantis heal over time, Cloak & Dagger bubble, etc.). In that case you definitely do not want to let your team fight without your heals.
      If you choose to duel them (1v1), you need to be super close which is not ideal due to how close Rocket's damage fall off is (I believe it's reduced to 40% damage at 20m+ and it starts falling off at 10m!). It also comes down to mechanical skill level of who aims better and who strafes better. Note that strategists have a hard time killing each other because they have small hitboxes and self preservation.
      An option you can try is weaving shots and healing the team while dueling them. I've been trying that out this season and it works OK with the 3 support meta. Maybe Rocket was meant to be played weaving both shooting and healing.

      @@Ukiyo_wonders damage amplifier must be worth something

    • @Nage.
      @Nage.  2 дня назад +2

      I believe it's because his ultimate's impact is hard to see.
      If his team's damage is boosted and someone other than Rocket kills you, it's very unlikely for you to notice that what made you die so fast was his amplifier. In an extreme example, if a Punisher with the damage amp. deleted you, you would attribute the kill to the Punisher's good aim and tracking. The Rocket's damage boost that enabled Punisher to kill you that fast would come second.
      In contrast, defensive support ults like Luna Snow's are very obvious "my team can't die" buttons. They are also very easy to use because you can usually save it to counter an enemy offensive ult. People would rather have the ultimate that is easy to use and has obvious impact but that doesn't mean Rocket's ultimate is bad. It all comes down to the strategist's decision making.

      Sorry to hear that you've had a poor solo queue experience. Everybody gets their share of bad and toxic teammates but communication can be the key to a good team. I've had unpleasant experiences as well in my climb but I've also encountered some great in game leaders whose communications have contributed greatly to our victory.
