    I see the Lancaster (pos thats the one) fly over a couple times a year and boy is that thing Loud. Cant imagine hundreds flying past all at once, that would have been wild to witness.

    Radials look so temperamental on startup but they are tough to kill in combat. With water cooled engines one bullet in a coolant line and it’s all over.

    I don’t think the inline engines were as temperamental as the radials on startup

      Beg to differ - outside air temp, other variables- I saw a vid of a Mustang at an airshow - he made five or six attempts to start it , cranked, cranked, while it continually blew flame out of the stacks, flooded - took him forever to get it running.
