How have I lived 73 years and never learned this before? This is wonderful! You made that Tassel so quickly and perfectly. I have shopped for ready made tassels and had to settle for something less that I wanted (or do without). Your method looks like fun. Thank you for this wonderful video.
You learn something new everyday!😊. Embroidery floss comes in a rainbow of colours. You can double up for a fuller tassel or cut in half for a little one. You can add beads and mix and match colours as well. Have fun and thanks again for watching🙏
This was another level of amazing, Angela. Again you make it so simple - everything even measures out exactly as you go! Thank you so much, for teaching us and sharing your professional knowledge, skills and experience 💐
Hi. I completely agree with you Arvetta. Only today I settled for something I didn't really want!! But you know something? I'm going to make what I want after seeing this!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👀 How can I not?????🥰😁 Thank you soooo much to you Notches Sewing. Sooooo glad I stopped by!!!!👍🏼😘😘
This is the cleverest tassel making tutorial I have ever seen. The use of the sleeve is brilliant. And the classic wrapping part is so well demonstrated. I will share on my jewelry making blog (beadinggem) for anyone who needs to know how to make tassels for earrings etc.
I just searched for how to make tassels and stoped first at one from Martha Stewart,as I never settle for the first thing I see, good for me, I next went to your video, and I struck gold. The best tutorial for making tassels, quick, easy, efficient and a snap to make, thank you!. I had to subscribe to see other tutorials you have.
There are many ways to make a simple and basic tassel. With this method, there won’t be any short strands to hide and the tied knots will be a bit stronger. Hope you give it a try😊
Thank you I know this is couple years old but I typed into safari how to make tassel with embroidery thread & your the 1st video it recommends thank you
Oh my gosh, you just took so much stress and anxiety out of things i have been crafting. I have needed tassels for years and never been very happy with what was available and had no clue how to make them. Yours makes so much sense and makes me think what happened to my brain in the past. I'm now 71 and have just learned a new trick for tassel's that i will be making many of. Thank you so much for sharing with us. Shirley from the UK.
These instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I had to buy embroidery floss to make my own tassels because I needed specific colors. But I really had no idea how to begin. Thank you so much for this wonderful, easy way. Genius to use the wrapper to keep it all together as you work on it.
Thank you. Glad it was helpful. You can find a couple more tutorials on my channel about tassels / how to add to cushion and how to add to ends of straps😊
Oh how I do love elegant solutions! This is how will make my little tassels for the rest of my life. I needed very small tassels so I use each end and following your very clear steps, it worked out wonderfully! Thank you
I made this yesterday and it turned out so nice! I just want to say for anyone who may be struggling with the instructions and may not have it exactly like the video, just keep going and it may not be EXACTLY like the video, but you will be pleased with your results if you are patient with yourself and just go slow on your first try. Also watch the entire video before trying helps SO MUCH!
Thanks Zippy! Yes practice practice…. I must’ve made a dozen of these before perfecting the method. You can also adjust the playback to a slower speed in your settings at top right of video. Thanks for watching!😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I was able to make a great little mini-tassel for a wood carving of a graduate for my graduating senior. It was more difficult to work with a much-smaller version than yours (harder to hold and I had guess at the measurements), but my third try produced just what I wanted. Your instructions were CRITICAL to producing a nice, clean tassel! Thank you again, I’m super grateful for you sharing your expertise!
I was about to order some tassels. So, I decided to look for a crochet tassel and came across your video, I use to cross stitch and I have a case full of floss. I just made my first tassel and I'm pleased with how it turned out, not as perfect as yours but I will practice until mines looks as nice and neat as yours, Thank you for this very quick and easy video. ❤
thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Glad you like it. It will only take a couple of tries to perfect it! Getting the top part nice and tight is key. Have fun!
If that is not the coolest, cleverest, easiest way to make tassels on the planet! I can’t wait to use this exact method for a home project, but for now, I must modify the process a bit because I need to make tiny tassels for a dollhouse pillow. and therefore don’t need a whole skein for each one. Even with the mods, this will surely be a far better method than what I was going to do to wing it. Thank you so very much for this super tutorial!
I Really like the method you came up with for the thread that goes around the tassel, that collects the strands together. Genius! I was making a tassel with crochet thread 10, so I didn't have the sleeves. I was still able to use your method pretty well without them. Although, trimming up the ends is where I ran into a small issue, so I just tied a piece of scrap thread just above where I wanted it to end, this way I still had a straight cut line. I tied the scrap thread tight enough to keep it all together but loose enough to easily be able to untie it if I had to, I just slipped it off once I was done cutting. Thank you for sharing your ingenious method with us ❤
Thankyou very much for sharing it and teaching it very beautifully.. the top knot and the closure of the last knot is what I wanted to learn. Thanks for showing it so nicely… Looking forward for more such great videos. Have a wonderful day❤️
I did it. 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾 I used twine thread but I removed the label from my embroidery thread and followed your method. Tassles came out perfect. This is the easiest tutorial I have found. Thank you soo much
