We are planning to hike Glyder Fach and we are just beginners . What's the difficulty level? Do's and don'ts. I would be glad if you can help me with the route.
Gaurav singh In good weather it’s an easy to moderate hike. There are some rocky sections at the top that can be difficult in wet slippery conditions, and it’s very easy to navigate in good visibility. The rocky nature of this mountain makes low visibility navigation quite difficult though, as the rocks make visible paths non existent on sections. The route I took here was from the Ogwen Valley parking, up to Llyn Bochlywd (The lake that looks like Australia) then up the valley between Tryfan and Glyder Fach. From the stone wall at the top (where I had coffee in this video) you can either go right via Bristly Ridge or for an easier hike go straight on and then turn right later for an easier climb to Glyder Fach summit.
Just wanna say you are the best walking channel on YT. No 'hey guys!', no soundcloud crappy lo fi beats, no cheesy transitions. Your videos encapsulate what getting out into the wild is all about; peace. Please make more videos in Snowdonia! Personal request for Moel Siabod from Capel Curig.
kknd_cf This is such a great comment, I appreciate it a lot, thanks. I started making videos this way as it’s the type of video that I myself want to watch. The brief to myself was pretty simple, try to capture the experience, not make it about me, not even just about the route, but about the experience. The sights of course but also the sounds, or lack of. The birds, or lack of. The roaring wind, the squelching ground, the misty views and everything in between. It’s a fun challenge, and the slow paced style is different to what most people would say a RUclips video should be like, so they’ve not done too well just yet, but I like making and watching them back so it’s all good. Even better when I get he occasional good feedback. It’s definitely on “the list” 😃, probably within the next 5, but at the rate I make them that could be a good few months away unfortunately. Thanks again, appreciate you taking the time to comment. Chris
