New Forest Explorers Guide - Badger cubs surprise in a sett previously thought not to be occupied

It's always a treat to see badger cubs, especially where they're not expected.
In 2022, three cubs were raised in this small, 5-tunnel entrance sett; whilst in 2023, all three of that year's cubs were predated by a large boar badger.
This year, the sett has appeared to be unoccupied - there's been no fresh spoil heaps, no bedding left on the surface; and no fresh latrines in their usual place.
Furthermore, the main tunnel entrance partially collapsed last autumn, probably as a result of torrential rain; an adjacent tree has been felled; and somebody blocked one of the remaining entrances with a huge stone.
Never-the-less, I placed a camera overlooking the sett and surprise, surprise, there are at least two adults present and four cubs.
Badgers are certainly resilient creatures.
