    From the few videos of Mr. Noack's videos In RUclips, I have never been less than 100% satisfied with his playing. And his transcriptions are astonishing.

    This pianist's full set of Lyapunov Etudes has been released. One senses he has building up to this moment for a long time. It deserves to be career-defining. The disc was awarded Diapason d'Or, and rightly so.
    Never thought would say this; but - Florian Noack, for the first time, makes these incredible, majestic, Himalayan pieces sound - easy.
    Which is so far from the truth, as anyone who picks up the score knows. He has clearly lived with them a long, long time. These are not 'learnt for the occasion'. They feel as if they are a part of his personality - which, considering the time required to surmount their difficulties, they do become.
    Noack's balanced and mature performances render the music precisely and accurately (including its harmonic development and structure). But now, the overall emphasis is on the kaleidoscopic beauty of Lyapunov's sound-palette. He does not deliberately or unintentionally draw attention to the (extreme) technical difficulties; these have been mastered; they are no longer the focus of attention, or a distraction.
    Instead what emerges is unadulterated poetry, singing lines, detail where detail is required only, natural phrasing and coherence; overall, brilliantly and clearly realised. Inner lines are brought out, but the overall flow of each piece is the main driver.
    A masterpiece of pianism, and musicianship. The pieces have not just been played (seat of the pants etc), but tamed, and now malleable.

      Am just an amateur pianist but I love these Etudes, having known them for 20 years or so.... they are like Stravinsky's Petrouchka or Gaspard on the difficulty level... but your recording is simply outstanding. And it feels as if you have known them a long time too.
      Thanks for bringing a spotlight to the lesser-known masterpieces of the repertoire. Hope your move to new record label brings you the increased success you very clearly deserve. Can't wait to hear what you record next!

    How very nice to see Lyapunov's well deserved, yet perplexingly neglected master pieces curated and published in its utmost form. I can almost feel thankful to the youtube alg for having me introduced them to me many years ago. Now with a recording like this may other people have an equally graceful chance to get something "new".

    Great stuff, already listened to the whole CD beforehand. Haven't really heard or explored much of Lyapunov before but his music reminds me of Balakirev with some spices of Rachmaninoff and Scriabin.

      @@thepianocornertpc I agree completely. There was no condescension intended, whatsoever. However, I think he would agree that time and experience will further enhance his prodigious talent. As Noack said in an interview, "Mais il y a encore beaucoup d'autres aspects en musique, et j'ai encore beaucoup à apprendre."

      @@leestamm3187 S'il l'a dit lui-même, il n'est pas nécessaire de réitérer. Il a été formé par certains des plus grands pianistes/pédagogues du moment. Votre commentaire serait plus approprié envers par exemple Yuja Wang qui n'a pas du tout grandi en tant que musicien. Avec elle c'est toujours la même expérience : au début on est sidéré mais sur le chemin du retour on a déjà oublié.

    Как всегда, исполнение на высоте! Превосходно! Благодаря Вам я полюбила Ляпунова и стала его играть. Раньше я думала, что только у Рахманинова так всеобъемлюще может звучать рояль. Однако Ляпунов в Вашем исполнении переубедил меня. Его фактура сложна, но она особенная, ощущения сложно передать. Спасибо!

    Obviously a solid, competent pianist 😁 and I think it's wonderful that Lyapunov is getting a wider audience 😁(from a visual point of view - please tell me what you think? - I find his habit of looking-about-the place rather distracting. To me, it's almost as if "if you're not going to pay attention to your playing then why should we?" - or am I too sensitive? 😁 Having said that, I am about to buy one of his CDs... 😁)

    • @floriannoack
      @floriannoack  Год назад +1

      If I may answer, it generally isn't "looking about the place". As a musician, we have a bit to juggle between being actor and spectator, between performing and listening. I notice that, sometimes, not actively looking, or taking distance from the action of playing helps focusing on how it actually sounds. But it's not looking around (I am actually not looking at anything at all in those moments).
