I've owned and still own different model argo's. I prefer my 32hp 8 wheel tracked Argo that seats 2 adults and 3 kids (aged 8, 9, & 10) comfortably. Even on water. I use a trolling motor (80 lbs thrust) and can travel 6/7mph comfortably. On land loaded we can go 32mph. Tracks eliminate the problems of getting high centered, the difficulty of coming out of water and on to steep or soft terrain (with tires it just basically bounces left and right but won't grab enough to climb out without winching). As for suspension the newest models (and most expensive starting at $26,000) have both suspension and hydraulic driven drivetrain which does away with chain maintenance and gives a smoother turn. But for any of the other Normal models dial the air down in the tires (especially if you have oversized tires) from 20psi to 5... Though you lose a little clearance it'll grab better in mud, it go faster under its own propolsion in water and it really helps smooth the ride out. Especially on the smaller max IV utvs and other similar designed utvs which you sit directly over the front wheels. It really helps starting and stopping when you think you might do a wheelie or nose dive into a flip. I ride and own plenty of atv's and utv's. For hard-core offroading nothing beats these amphibious vehicles...
I just bought a frontier 8x8 and I have been looking at tracks. GENIUS! I have never thought of just putting tracks on the rear 2 wheels. Does this actually work well??
Those are cool but I had a buddy I used to hunt with that had one and I was mostly a passenger running through fields and woods and I just remember a damn near bone jarring ride. I'd be so clenched up when we got there it was like I had done sit ups. I guess it depends on terrain.
I somehow deleted my response but the cliff notes were: parks might designate the trails .. But oceans and fisheries monitor and govern the water and they have no sense of ha ha whatsoever. I know Of 3 guys that received fines from 2k to 10k. Yes that's 10k as in ten thousand dollars. Without recalling all of what I posted then accidentally deleted., oceans and fisheries are the ones that will end up losing their shit. Not the parks board
And if the trails show any sign that silty water from a stagnant puddle has ended up in a waterway that contains fish . They will fine you and if it happens enough times thev will shut the trail down. It's happened - I've seen it happen and that's why it pisses me off to see it. Especially with as much money I have wrapped up in toys and not trying to sound like im bragging but when I have over 120k in offroad toys . I, my family and my friends . Want to be able to use these designated areas once in a while. The rest of the time is spent in muskeg and actual uninhabitable sloughs
they are very reasonably priced if you research a little bit. Just look on ebay, craigslist etc for : amphibious ATV, 6wheeler, Max, Argo, Attex etc. Mostly, if you dont mind turning a wrench here and there, you could find one for under $3000, some even find them as low as $300. Good luck!
As stated . If you look around you can find good deals on used ones (new up here in Canada will set you back about 30k) With that said . Do not buy a 300.00 unit as your going to find out right chicken Louis why it was 300 bucks Find someone that has/ had one to discuss or try out or call your closest dealer and find out when they have a demo day to see if you really like them Don't buy to old and have someone that has exp with them go with you to check out a used one. Realistically, you can figure on dropping 3k to 5k and upwards of 10k ( a third of the cost of new for a "quality"unit In my opinion is a good deal) on a decent condition, running and more importantly reliable unit because there is nothing worse than going into the bush 10 miles and break down due to a 20.00 part ( if there is such a thing as a 20.00 part from Argo lol) Hell, rent one for a weekend before you buy one. We've all had those " oooh I just HAVE to own one " moments and some of those moments are still in the barn lol Educate yourself as much as you can , and then if you want one - find a great one -enjoy the hell out of it .. Welcome to the now smaller world of owning the ultimate ATV
I've had 4. My most expensive which I currently have was $4500. Has a 27hp motor, 8 wheel with tracks, winch, trolling motor, open/closed cab (hard and soft top pieces), led's, seating for 4, radio, dual bilge system, with 400 hours in great shape. The cheapest Ive bought was a max IV (which usually is a cheap model) for $1500. Had 6 new rawhide tires, 16hp, and led headlights, winch, and single bilge pump.. The most important things to look at (don't by Un tested off of ebay or you'll regret it) would be the axle seals (or you'll leak badly), chains (6-9 usually and sized #40-#60), sprockets, and most importantly in my opinion are the tensioner sprockets and slides they're set in to provide tension. Make sure the slides or channels (whichever you prefer to call them) are not rusted and separating. If so it's junk. Basically maintenance is a little more difficult than a Gocart. Keep your oil changed, keep coolant changed and clean (& blow out radiator if liquid cooled which most are NOT). Make sure there's adequate transmission fluid in the transmission. Steep inclines and declines will cause it to leak out of the breather hole on the top rear (I think) so check it regularly. Keep chains lubricated with water repelling lubricant. Make sure all the other grease fittings on axles and such are greased occasionally with marine grade grease. And lastly make sure chains are tightened periodically. Worst things; You're buddies sxs's and atv's will be faster always No suspension Chain maintenance can be hell if not properly done on a regular basis Goods; You'll Never get stuck again. NEVER. Especially with tracks You'll be that guy who can pull anyone out Does your buddies 4wheeler float? Towing capacity Easy to get parts. Not many moving parts. Hardest thing to find is transmissions, and most are t-20 2 speed auto with reverse. You can buy a trailer that floats lol Take your time and find the right one. If you live in a dry area with little to no mud or water this is not a good purchase. I'd say look at the Joyner utv line up. I prefer my Joyner Sand Viper 1100 on dunes, dessert, and long dirt trails..
Sorry I meant max II though I've owned the IV also. The 2's are cheap and come with 6 wheels, enough room for a full grown person and a kid, and have 11-18hp motors.
Kendall Phillips yet for less $$ you can purchase a very capable 4wd atv. No, an atv won't float, but in the time it takes an argo to ford a pond, the atv could go around the pond. Then move on to ride quality...
Here is a link to them The escargo tracks were the answer for tracks when they first came out but if you have used them you'll know their issues. You have to add a backing plate the nut end so they don't pull through. They also bend and come loose quite easy The other alternative is ADAIR tracks which you assemble yourself but once assembled they are great I've had rubber tracks , the crap plastic ones , and have the escargo tracks now but am going to purchase a set of the Beavedam tracks and have a design for some I designed and if they are in fact the " better mousetrap " I'll post the results Here is beaverdam ATV link www.beaverdamargo.com

@Justin B Cole >>> Do you happen to live near Busco Beach?
Really cool.. looks like a lot of fun
Es mach richtig Spaß und Freude euch zu zusehen 😂❤
Just love watching yall. Thanks for sharing the video. God bless🚜🚜
It almost seems like tires do better than tracks in the mud. Looks like a blast.
Can't get over dude with the bicycle helmet... That dude has got to be a virgin...
I don agree with the insult but you should probably be wearing a my helmet if anything

Great vid guys! I gotta get back on the site n see wats going on, haven't been on in awhile.
LUV MY MAX!!!!!!
9:50 what is the model? Who knows?
The 6x6 with the 3/4 tracks, Do they tend do better than the full length tracks?
It's mainly for going over trees and rocks so it's harder to damage the tracks. it's a little less strain on the drive train (chains) also
Looks like muddy marvellous fun. Where in the world can i go to drive one of them?
Um anywhere
Like a atv lot of people have them
Супер! Отличные мини вездеходы!
Nice rides!
Cool machines 👍
Those tires on the blue Max IV were nice. What are they and do they come with a new max.
They are aqua torque tires by Interco. They do not come on new Max ATVs that I know of.
They said they have a new 26x16. Thanks.
Q Fab
That is most likely the Vendetta tire by Muddox.
2:50 dude swipes that chick lol

Tires were probably over full. But regardless it's definitely not a Cadillac
The Banana Splits had these.
Very cool , need too buy one of these,
What is the best way to re paint the plastic on one?
try paint.
what are those really nasty looking tires on that one rig...

Great footage of the Argos in action but the music doesn't fit. I mean are off roading or hitting a night club
Where is this ATV park ?
+Tami Schifflin Busco Beach NC
Y'all are awesome I love ya'll
what is the top speed 6x6
Roughly 20-35mph land, 1-4mph self propelled on water, and 7 is about the max you can do and still remain stable on water with a trolling motor.
nice video. wish I could afford one of those things

Make that pond a river and see how you get on with your atv. Horses for courses as they say...
The Real Escargot Tracks can be bought in Canada! They don't have slack but perform optimum!!!
You can buy a better track from beaver dam argo in the USA
