@@C.Dynamo A display assembly costs less than $25 shipped. But the home button color is unchanged if you want to keep TouchID -- only the original button supports TouchID. Also, aftermarket displays don't support TrueTone unless you also have access to the original display AND own a reprogrammer (but 1. any half decent shop should be able to lend you a programmer, or do it for you, and 2. truetone is useless imo)
If a iphone is dropped and it’s screen doesn’t break a ribbon cable might become dislodged. I have slight brightness on the screen but no picture. I haven’t tried opening it yet but I think that it might have a loose connection. It still makes sounds when connected to the charger. If dropped a couple of feet to the floor.
Thank you. I was able to use this to replace my daughters screen. I did have one problem though. The metal bracket that screws down over the battery, screen and home button connectors was somehow causing the screen to become unresponsive. My guess is it was jarring the connectors under it when screwed down. After trying a couple times to reseat the connectors with no luck I just removed that bracket and reseated the connectors. Then I sealed the phone back up and it works perfectly.
Your home button will not work. It's paired to your phone and no other phone. So even with an original screen you will need to transfer the home button
Not the end of the world. Your phone is not water resistant and this will not bring that back 100%. It does help hold the screen down, but if most of the adhesive is still stuck on the phone, replacing this isn't required, just recommended. If you're a business replacing a customers screen, then you need to do this.
I assume that as with other models below this one, so series 7 and below, the home button no longer works properly and you need to enable the on-screen sensor, right?
Thank you for the easy and clear video. Took me good 1 hour to replace the screen. Too bad Apple makes it inpossible to replace parts without losing the iPhone options like in this case True Tone.
@Spawsy_ so long as you keep original home button, yes it will. You cannot use touch id with another home button, it has the be the original (linked to logic board)

Btw thanks so much for the clear information !
Does it show the not genuine screen under the settings?
Nope. This is before they implemented that
I can confirm, there is no "non-genuine" message. But you will lose true tone.
I did miss the purpose of that Kapton tape. Can anyone explain, please? thanks
Help prevent grounding which causes touch issues.
@@RealWorldReview Thanks. Does it have some sort of most common size? My local parts shop offer tapes in sizes ranging from 3mm wide to 50mm wide. Iwould prefer most useful size so I can use it on as many ocasions as possible :)
Doesn't really matter because the roll will last you forever lol 7mm should be good though for the 1 repair
I replaced the screen and the LCD comes on. Just doesn't respond to touch.. :( any tips?
is everything on the phone going to be still there it’s a dumb question but i’m curious
yes unless you damaged your storage somehow
Yes, except for true tone, unless you program the screen.
Can the iphone 8 speaker phone be used for se 2 ?
If you mean the earpiece, then yes. My earpiece needed replacing and the seller said it's compatible with the 8 and SE 2020
Hi, the screen works perfectly! However, the front camera doesn’t work. I find this very weird because the light sensor and speaker is working. Please help.
Make sure the cable is seated properly, otherwise you may have torn the cable
What is the kapton for?
To prevent touch issues with aftermarket displays
Do you need to glue new screen?
Why didn’t they use the 8 screen in the SE 3 in the first place?
They do lol they just took out some metal and the 3D Touch pad
@@RealWorldReviewIf I buy an iphone 8 icloud ( locked ) to take its screen to use it for my iphone se 2022, will it perfectly work ? Compatible?
@@yassineamezough yes, but the back plates are a little different and would need to be swapped.
for the heat would a hairdryer work for the heat
Maybe because he isn't really needed
Why the tape at 3:37?
To prevent grounding and touch issues on aftermarket screens
Is necessary icopy to do this replament?
Not needed. You will not lose any functionality or get any warnings.
Can I switch the screen for an iPhone 6s? I saw they are almost the same size
