For me, this is actually a pretty good video, the problems are that he's too tense and he should slow down, he's kind slouching and his preparations are kinda off
Too tense? Slow down? I'm sorry, did you expect a dance recital? Last I checked, learning the poomsae is to learn form, to strengthen your movements in real combat, not to show off to your cringey ass peers. No reason for him to change anything. The kicks are perfect the way they are, idiotically high kicks only work to score points in a competition, realistically you should only have to throw kicks at waist height. So he's doing fine.
@@evelyn-lr5kp Those "extra movements" you're talking about are on purpose. They are to accentuate form. Same reason you kick "from the hip" and you don't just fling your legs about. Those movements are there to incorporate body weight into his attacks. If you think his moves are too "extra", clearly YOU'RE doing something wrong.
@@eighteightthreeeighttwoeig825 this is all my opinion, but there are some parts where he turns his heel, and other parts when he bends his supporting leg while kicking, not to mention other movements such as lifting his toes while moving. I’ve been to multiple competitions so this is all my opinion on his form. Agree to disagree.
@@evelyn-lr5kp Turning your heel is also part of the form... not sure how else to explain to you what good form is. "Bending your knee while kicking" and "lifting your toes while moving" are negligible factors that have little to no effect on the overall performance and power of the kick. Anyways, like I told the OP, if you want to use Taekwondo as a means to receive attention from your friends and not in the intended combat context, then go ahead and treat it like a ballet recital. Besides, competitions are a disgrace to the sport, no one knows how to strike. They all, like you probably, lack speed, torque, and grace. Not to mention lacking knowledge of basic combat strategy. Competitions have no real say in deciding the skill of a taekwondo practitioner. If you want to put your skill to the test, use Taekwondo in a street fight. As someone who's practiced for 14 years, and HAVE used it in a street fights and not in controlled environments such as competitions, I'm pretty sure I have more say in the matter than you.
This is a great video to show mistakes, if i had a taekwondo club i would really recommend showing this to my students to identify issues you should not do as there are several mistakes.
Maybe your languange is to harsh but i agree honestly, because the twieo chagi at the end of pal jang is like dubaldangsong Every apchagi that he does is to fast like he is doing kyorugi The knife high block at taeguk yook jang is not presented slowly And much more

Dang, I take back everything I've ever said about the taeguk forms (ITF Tang Soo Do guy here)...apart from the walking stance (which apologies, but I still don't really like), all of these are very dynamic, and the way they're done is just so much more fluid and natural than the ones from the ITF Tae Kwon Do style (with the bounce in between every step). I can also see a lot of stuff that I also find in the forms we do in Tang Soo Do, which is really cool. []
I only have the 1st Dan, but I can still do all Poomsaen from 1-11 completely elaborately. I say: the beginning was good. But then it got a little worse. The kicks did not have a clearly identifiable focus and were therefore too fast and imprecise. If it had been an exam, it would just have been passed.
He is still learning and even his forms is messed up he needs to do it slowly but right now I am on red belt and I am super close getting to black belt maybe another year
Movements are seriously too tense and can’t understand why body/middle blocks are practically blocking at face/shoulder height; fist should be level with your shoulder

You have to relax more, and when you bow you should keep your hands as far as they go and not in your hips
