Oh my god his enthusiasm is incredible.
That's what I thought too.
his incredible is sussy
You get an upvote for sheer pythonesque stage presence.
Very nice, simple and inspired
nobody listen to the clavichord till I blow this whistle.
Your audio recording and mixing work hasn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated. Thai video sounds so good I want to hold it tight and never let go
Now I wanna get a clavichord
me too!
Do not get a Neupert one lol.
@@melzlink4100 Why?
@@louiscouperin3731 They are terrible lol.
@@melzlink4100 What about their harpsichords and fortepianos? (I'm asking because I'm looking into getting a historical keyboard instrument and can't find any info on Google lol)
Dude low key creeps me out 😂
What! You can put vibrato on the notes? You can pitch bend? This is awesome!
You can pitch bend on piano too. It's just more subtle, and doesn't necessarily have a good tone.
Yep - from the most primitive keyboard instrument of all...
@Dogman Like I said it's more subtle. Definitely not the same as a clavichord. If you hit the key hard enough the hammer hit's the string hard enough to move or stretch the strings which changes the pitch temporarily. The strings vibrato on the higher keys can be manipulated a little bit too. The tone will be bad though. So "In a way" yes you can. Is it same as clavichord? "No"
@@MegaMech bullshit. Don't play clever, if you don't have an idea. - subtle but no good tone? (Opposition) - Pitch bend on a piano? - (just stupid)
Maybe you are talking about synthesizer-keyboards or e-pianos... those don't have strings...
No. I am talking about a 9 foot grand piano. Strings are not static! Have you seen how quickly an acoustic guitar goes out of tune? A freshly tuned piano starts losing its tuning about an hour to a week later. It's a very small difference, but a good ear can hear it. Now how does this relate? Strings, no matter the stringed instrument, can stretch. If you hit the key really hard on an older piano you can literally hear the string stretching and going out of tune (Or due to bad tuning pegs). So "pitch bending" can happen on a piano from:#1 The string stretching from being hit too hard by the hammer, which temporarily makes the note change slightly and come back.#2 The hammer slamming into the string so hard that the string produces a metallic ping sound which results in bad tone or a "bent pitch".Both of these are ways to change how the string vibrates, or how the vibrato of the note sounds. It can create slightly different tone colour. So as I have already admitted, it is not pitch bending in the traditional sense. If you pulled out a tuner, and hit the note really hard you'll notice the strings go a few cents sharp. Pianists have to be careful not to play forte too loudly, or else the tone sounds bad, like overblowing a saxophone or trumpet. In practice, this piano pitch warping would be an unwanted sound.
What I like about this particular instrument is that it does not have baroque tuning. What a relief.
From passion displayed for the instrument and its music, and the abundant and adroit use of humor, to the production quality of this HD video, you earn five stars from me. Thank you.
Those eyes.
This clavichord has a very unique tone, which I like more than the tone of most other clavichords. Most clavichords have a very dull hammered dulcimer or lute like tone, some even sound like an old upright piano, but this one almost sounds like a harpsichord.
The thing is, this clavichord is very bad. Is a XX century "revival" clavichord. A clavichord is not suposed to ve a harpsichord lol.
@@melzlink4100 It doesn't even sound like a harpsichord! The tone is tinny, there is no resonance, and the bass strings sound comically like a guitar. Furthermore, the treble strings show now brightness.
I love this guy. Everything he says sounds positively lascivious.
And the ten dollar word of the day award goes to....................Daniel Billingsley!!!!
Mr. Kattah! I love your channel. Your personality and enthusiasm are delightful.
Parabéns pelo projeto. Uma pena poucas pessoas poderem saber disso.
+raonimmartins Muito obrigado!!
0:03 The face of someone dead inside.
Sounds good for a revival instrument
Beautiful! I will start listening and watching from the beginning!
You have such wonderful enthusiasm
This guy is awesome
Beautifully played! And one can argue endlessly about authenticity, but I love the sound of the instrument. It's expressive, musical and above all not boring (unlike many clavichords)
These are great videos Sir... keep up the awesome work.
why it sounds more clearly than the modern piano to me?
Because it's so quiet. The piano is a lot more resonant.
Clavichord has higher harmonics, gives it that bright sound
Because pianoforte can hide your mistakes, it is not a instrument made for poliphonycal music. So baroque music and renaissance sounds horrible. Clavichord, harpsichord, and fortepiano are much more clear.
What an excellent presentation - nicely done!
A very charming and nicely played introduction to the clavichord.
cheers from cold Vienna, Scott
Love these videos!
Puxa, que bacana! Parabéns pela qualidade do vídeo e pela criatividade. Genial.
Luis Otavio Barreto Muito obrigado Luis!!!
Amazing videos,
Keep up the great work!
You are sofa king adorable. And your playing is nice too. :)
Marisa Kattah Obrigado!!! Lindo não?? =)
meus parabéns! Muito bom. Ótima dicção no inglês também!
+Leopoldo Netto Obrigado meu caro! =)
I'm so glad they eventually switched around the key colors to black accidentals!
I'm not! I unfortunately learned on a French-pattern harpsichord, so the 'reversed' keyboard is the norm. Still takes me a couple of seconds to reset my mind to the usual. Only the French and Germans used white sharps - all the other schools used white naturals / black sharps.
Super !!Parabéns!!
Ahh, you are hilarious good sir. And this is a great video, thanks!
+Jeremy Kittel Thank you Jeremy! =) Best wishes from Vienna!
Thank you so much for posting this - so much I hadn't realised about the clavichord! (that it has dynamics, note bends (!!! - I'd love to try some blue notes on it :) plus of course the way you video'd that takes us inside the instrument!) And of course, like a real musician, you end with actual pieces! So many videos about music are just dry boring talk by dry boring people... And the little sketch in the end brings the age to life. Wonderful - Well Done!
Especial esse video em!!!!
Nem conhecia esse instrumento!
+Abrao Rodas Muito obrigado! Seja bem-vindo! =)
Parabéns pelo projeto! Incrível!
Arthur Carmonário Obrigado caro Arthur!!! =D
Thanks so much for sgaring this wonderful presentation!
Technical comment: I appreciate that the instrument is very quiet, but for a better audio presentation, the sound of the instrument should be raised relative the the sound of the voice. As it is, it is very difficult to hear both without "gain riding" and adjusting the volume as a listener.
Thank you!
love it bravo
legal muito fera
Thank you
Great!
Omg, you are so cute! And an excellent keyboardist!
A lot of Mozart paintings are very different. What did Mozart actually look like?
John Kiunke Great question John! Stay tuned on the next episodes! =D
this sounds so good
It was actually composed by his Older sister
Maria Anna
Nannerl Mozart
Ummmmm…actually

Unoriginal bottom-of-the-barrel joke.
it is perfect to play Funky Music adding Pick Ups under the strings and processing the sound with a Wah Wah effect pedal...
Wasn’t that instrument also known as the “virginal?” You’re quite the character by the way, you’ve earned yourself a new subscriber.
At 1:15 is it an actual excerpt you're playing? It sounds lovely!
Ótimo! ^^
love the music. modern composers have trouble finding two notes in the same key.
I luv your channel
I love your mother but I don’t crow about it like you do
Allan Rosendo Excelente pergunta Allan!
An excellent clavichord. Who made it?
Such a cute guy😂😂
Geehrter Mozart,
Você conheceu Beethoven? Se sim, impressionou-se com a habilidade dele?
Danke schön!
Mateus Nascimento Obrigado pela pergunto Mateus! Fique atento aos próximos capítulos! Bitte bitte!
Tambem.
I want these clavichords * - *
Francy Wagner Muito obrigado Francy!!! Mozart adorou sua pergunta! =D
But can it djent ??
PIXLHeart let’s hope not
This is cool, where do i get one?
Why are the notes shown 2 scale steps higher than normal on the page? Was this a common thing to do back then?
John Kiunke Hi John! Yes! Mozart wrote many of his piano pieces in Soprano C clef for the right hand! This was quite normal! Interesting isn't it?
OMG, sounds like a acoustic guitar
Beautiful! Who is the clavichord builder and what is it modeled after?
Excelente proyecto Vinicius, saludos desde Guatemala. Aquí va mi pregunta: ¿Mozart tuvo alguna mascota?
Abner Anton Gracias Abner!!! Saludos!
Was war Mozarts erste Komposition?
Que foda, cara! Isso é no Brasil?
No? 💀
thansk
Porque as teclas são nas cores invertidas?
6:13 why not try a graphic face animation from one of the mozart paintings
What is colour in portuguese in the music denomition?
Thanks if you answer, Vinicius Kattah.
His pronunciation of the Greek word written on the screen was very incorrect
I was so ready to disagree with you, because so few people on RUclips (especially speakers of modern Greek) are familiar with reconstructed Ancient Greek pronunciation. But then he said the word and my eyebrows climbed so high they put a crack in the ceiling. 😬
A non-native person speaking in English mispronounces words in Greek. Color me surprised.
Although the principles are correct, this modern day tolerance instrument will not give the kind of sound that was present at the time.
Can you play Mozart sonata like k333 by this clavichord?
Seems there are not enough of keys there
How can Mozart compose his works by this kind of instrument?
Net vergessen Zweibelrostbraten. :)
and how should you know how to read it?????
how can you play dynamics in clavichord I don't get it..oooo
Hi I was curious if there's anyway to get my hands on a copy of the sheet music for all the tunes, Thank you!
Mein Herzlichen Danke !!!
(Is my German correct ? I am brasileira, my mother language is portuguese.
Its pretty good. Totally correct would be: „Meinen herzlichen Dank!“
De região você é ?
who made the clavichord?
Você é brasileiro? Onde conseguiu seu clavicórdio?
Dude, don’t be a robot. Try to be more natural...
I think he's trying too hard to focus on enunciation because of how many languages he speaks. His english is good but you can hear his effort to pronounce words correctly outside of his mother tongue. Awesome playing though.
Why was the clavichord not the very most used instrument in early times? A cembalo didn't have the dynamics as a clavichord it seems...?
Traumgeblubber it is very quiet to be heard. White the clavichord is almost muted by any other instrument, the haprsichord is loud enough even to lead an orchestra.

Thank you very much, that was very informative. :D
This clavichord almost sounds like a harpsichord.
What kind of piano is that?
Is there a standard clavichord key width? I played a harpsichord and found it much narrower than a piano. If I purchased one, I would like the keys to be as similar to a piano as possible.
Have you thought of using a Midi piano and finding a daw to emulate the sound?
What is the instrument used here? I know it's a clavichord, but which design, builder etc?
Klavicuard
Your german sounds so southern, I thought you weren't a german speaker. LOL
I like mennuet in g major
