Yup Exo's Alien concept with super powers it all started with the TREE OF LIFE explained in their MAMA mv story intro narration.
Fun fact: The majority of the choreography for "Monster" has to do with the EXO members using their powers, if you really pay attention to the choreography, you might be able to find the parts where they use their powers. The X they make to represent EXO is only the beginning of the story in their choreography.
In "Monster" every move of the choreography has been designed to be an extension of their story and it uses elements of their dance to represent several of the members using their powers. For example, D.O. has the power of earth (dirt) which gives him super strength, so during his part in the song and choreography you will see that he waves his hands and the other members are pushed away from him or pulled toward him. When you see Suho in the middle of the group and they have a hold of his arms, he rotates his body around like swirling water because Suho has the power to control water. Xiumin has the power to control snow/ice/frost, so during one part of the choreography you will see that each of the members pause as if frozen as he moves in front of them. Sehun has the power to control wind, so during his parts, you will see the other members shuffle around him as if they are creating a windstorm. And the part where they are sitting on the ground is supposed to represent a sundial -- EXO gets their power from the eclipse and their powers are affected by planetary and solar phenomenon, so the sundial is meant to represent the passing of time and their connection to the sun.
The fans weren't really "singing along." What you heard is called fan chants, these are orchestrated things that fans say during specific moments in live performances. Sometimes fan chants are designed by fandoms and they are distributed through the network of fandoms so that everyone learns them and knows what to do, and other times they are designed by the Kpop group's company and given to the fandoms to distribute and make sure everyone knows the chant. Almost every song that is a maintrack song that the group promotes with will have a specific fan chant that goes with it. So not only will the audience be reciting specific lyrics at key movements during the performance, but sometimes during the dance break the fans will shout each of the members names, etc. Even the moments when the fans scream or cheer are often done at specific times and for and exact length of time as part of the fan chant. So what you heard the audience doing during "Monster" was reciting the fan chant for that song, which is the same thing fans will recite every time this song is performed.
The concert version of "Wolf" is the remix version, so only the beginning and end of this performance is what you see in the MV -- the middle part, where it slows down, is new, but the hype part at the beginning and end is exactly how the original song sounds. Often, the performance and choreography for their songs in concert is different than the original because they put a different twist on it every time they perform it.
The moving siluet you saw them create in their "Wolf" performance is supposed to represent the Tree of Life. Which is a visual connection between the story in "Mama" and the story in "Wolf". In the MV for "Wolf" you saw they created two separate trees (or one tree that is split in two) because the MV is when they still have 12 members. EXO-K was one half of the tree and EXO-M was the other half. However, as you saw in the concert performance, they don't split up into the two separate trees any more because now there are only 9 members. After the 3 Chinese members left, they now do everything together, so there is only one tree. This concert was in 2016 and Kris, Luhan and Tao left in 2014/2015.
How I interpret the part where Kai Xs out the tree, is that EXO are searching for the Tree of Life and Kai has eliminated that tree from their search. It's not the tree they want, so they get rid of it. In the intro to "Mama" they talk about how the Tree of Life has been split in two and each half has been hidden away. It's EXO's job to find the two halves of the Tree of Life and reunite them to restore peace in the world. So in their live performance, that is what they are doing. They are searching for the real Tree of Life.
Just imagine, that was only one set from a 3 to 4 hour concert where they performed 20 to 30 songs. So, if you think that performance was amazing, keep in mind, after this they only took about a 5 minute break to get ready for the next set of songs and change outfits, etc.

@@joydelamata430 Right, fire I think is shown when Chanyeol jumps over Lay and Xiumin to show him either jumping over flams or using his fire phoenix wings. However, I haven't identified a specific instance for Chen's lightning or Lay's healing, although I am sure they are there as well. But my goal wasn't to give them, everything, It was just to point out what to look for so they could start to see things for themselves. If YOU want to give examples of the other powers, go for it.

You have to see the live performance that proves whether a group has talent or not. EXO never admit to synchronization. They are confident in their talent. I have said it before and I will repeat that. EXO is different when performing live. They are really talented.

The members of EXO have the most beautiful, perfect and attractive faces.
When Kai dances, I forget that he is a normal person. He is a dancing machine and is extremely talented. When Chen starts to sing, it is as if he is not a normal person and is supernatural. How come he has such an expressive and beautiful voice. Can it be found in a human being?! When Baekhyun sings, his voice is like a drug and his voice drives me crazy.
