Music & Memory: Meeting with Balkans & Misirli Ahmet Rhythm house 10th Years Concert!

  • World renowned musicians from different corners of the world will be performing at the MKM Attila İlhan Hall to make the 30th March Thursday evening a spectacular and unforgettable night.
    The Balkans have been the meeting point between Asia, the Near East and the West and the region has integrated this exchange in an extraordinary and unique cultural heritage. To keep this tradition away from the danger of extinction the "Music & Memory" project aims to enhance and stimulate this musical richness, as well as to create a bridge between the musicians of the Balkan states, Turkey and other European countries. During the recent two years of this Project, musicians from Turkey and Balkan countries have been researching and sharing the musical culture which was gradually developed during the long reign of the Ottoman Empire.
    The music artistic director of the project is Misirli Ahmet who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of first in the world darbuka rhythm school the “Mısırlı Ahmet Rhythm House”; a unique place where people learn his darbuka techniques and the beautiful compositions written for darbuka and percussion.
    World Famous Musicians will be together on the same stage!
    The concert will consists of two parts with a short intermission. In first part the darbuka/doholla master Misirli Ahmet will be performing with the other talented musicians from Turkey, namely the guitar player Onur Aymergen, bağlama player Muhlis Berberoğlu, violin player Serkan Gugul, joined with the greatest virtuoso player on accordion Petar Ralchev (Bulgaria), the master of kaval Nedyalko Nedyalkov (Bulgaria) with a special guest from Belgium, drummer Stephane Galland who is known for his creativity and his mastery of very complex rhythms. In the second part Misirli Ahmet will perform with his Rhythm House's 60 students. It will be the night of driving rhythms, fiery melodies and exciting solos!
    The concert will take place in partnership with the ASBL Diogene, Mitra 2000, Çözüm, Istanbul Rhythm Association & Misirli Ahmet Culture Art & Trade Tourism Company.

    Hello, Master Masirli, ahmat ... how and what kind of words can introduce a professional look to me..I was a guest in Turkey last year this month and in March .. I started you. Honestly, since I saw and heard this art of yours, I was more and more eager to do it ... Thank you for being a master ..
