Loved watching this while doing evening chores 💜 also agree that Mistborn hits differently than stormlight. When I reread it after stormlight it hit different and was a bit more enjoyable which surprised me
I think I finally found a booktuber in you that has the same taste as me in books. I am really excited now to read the books on your best books list that I haven’t had on my tbr before. 😁
Tress was my first Sanderson book. I adored it and lent it to a friend who lent it to his friend. I have a feeling I will just need to get a new copy to read to pieces. ❤
Yes, Oathbringer is also my favourite Stormlight book. I thought I was the only one. Everyone else I’ve seen talk about the series loveeee book 2 so much more
Yaayyyy Untethered Sky! I also WOULD LOVE to see more in that world. It made me really excited for future Fonda Lee works, for sure. Ok I really need to check out Guns of the Dawn finally
Dark age was phenomenal! The whole series is the best reading experience of my life, and I’m old enough to be your mom 🤦🏼♀️ The light bringer blew my mind….
I'm so glad that RUclips recommend this video to me, immediate subscribe! Emily Wilde, Children of Time, The Emporer's Soul and Tress of the Emerald Sea were also some of my favorite reads of 2023 ♡
Omg, I'm so excited to see Guns of the Dawn on someone's favorites! It was one of mine, too, and I rarely like military fantasy. It's so so underhyped!
The Sword of Kaigen left me BROKEN. It was my favorite book I read last year!! I also enjoyed Untethered Sky✨ Tchaikovsky was new to me last year and I definitely want to read more by him.
hiii! i'm new to your channel and loveeeeee your book opinions, could you possibly do a all time favorite books (esp fantasy) i just trust your opinion LOL
You are the only reviewer that has actually convinced me to buy and read the Children of Time. It sounds like it’s something I’d like and have not read a lot of Science Fiction
ahhh I am so glad this video was recommended to me because every book you talked about here is either something I had already read/or something that is on my tbr. I am also trying to read more brandon sanderson this year and seeing your top 10 I just know I will only find my new favourite books, nothing less haha
I started 2023 with Gideon the Ninth and that was the first series in ages that I couldn't shut up about! I agree that the writing style is very much not for everyone, but it is very much for me haha. I also read Iron Gold this year and the first 2/3 (and REALLY the first 1/3) were such a slog for me as well, but the way the last 1/3 brought everything together also brought up my feelings/ratings significantly. It was so artfully done and while the first part of the book almost had me asking why I had previously enjoyed the series, the last 1/3 was a strong reminder! I feel like this list is also a good reminder to get to Sword of Kaigen before my KU trial expires 😅
I’ve been off Booktube for a bit and am just now seeing your new bookshelf setup! It looks so good!! ❤ hoping I’ll be uploading again in the next couple days. 😩
Clicked on this video because I saw Gideon the ninth in the thumbnail 😊😊 it seems we have similar book tastes so I’m very excited to start reading Brandon Sanderson and sword of Kaigen !!
Glad my feed shared your video with me, very similar tastes. Children of Time sounds creepy but interesting with the spiders lol. Loved Emily Wilde and read the arc for the sequel and it was just as good. I still need to read Red Rising. The only Sanderson I have read is Tress but plan to read more this year. I can’t wait to read Sword of Kaigen, high expectations. I haven’t even heard of Guns of the Dawn but sounds very interesting.
Children of Time was one of my favorites and I got the next two books for Christmas. I really enjoyed the year of Sanderson as well. It's hard to believe I just have Sunlit Man and then I'm caught up. Enjoy catching up on the Stormlight Archive! It was the same for me that Mistborn Era 1 just hit me better. I found that Stormlight did become more impactful for me as I continued. Harrow the Ninth is on my list. I need to get to Guns of the Dawn already lol
i know, it feels so surreal to have almost read everything in the cosmere 😂 it's been a goal for the longest time. and YESSS mistborn era 1 rocks GUNS 👏 OF 👏 THE 👏DAWN
Ahh so happy to have found you, it's a pleasure to listen to you 😃And since you have some of my favorite books on your list like Gideon, Children of Time, etc.. I will also check out the other ones you have here 💖 ahh so exciting ✨
Ok, evolved spiders in space? Heck no!😂 I love how you compared Bambleby to Howel, I think that was very accurate, although I didn’t think of it at the time for some reason. I also had a very Sanderson heavy year, but for me Stormlight wins out over Mistborn. I haven’t read The Sword of Kaigen or even heard of Guns of the Dawn, but they both sound like books I want to look into now.
i know a few people who are terrified of spiders but still enjoyed the book, so you never know, you might like it too! hehe and yay i'm happy you see the comparisons too!
I had a similar reaction to Sword of Kaigen. Despite having a couple minor flaws, those only brought it from a 6/5 to a 5/5. Probably the best book I've ever read. Don't think I've ever had that level of emotion from a standalone book.
So happy I stumbled upon this channel! Instant subscribe ❤ though I’m happy to hear the cringey bastardized Japanese ends early on in the Sword of Kaigen, I actually DNF’d it because that part was just soooo awkward lol
HAHAHA yeah it was so cringy. i can't promise that it doesn't show up at all in the second half but by then i was either used to it or didn't bother me as much
If you love Red Rising, please please consider reading the Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio. AN AMAZING series that I am sure will hit your top ten list in 2024!! Great list btw! I am so excited to read Sword of Kaigen!!
I feel so alone with not liking Sword of Kaigen. 😅 The writing style bothered me so much I started to nitpick everything, and I really didn't like the second half of the story when the only redeeming part disappeared. Also, after Elle's Cosmere tier ranking video, it's so good to hear Oathbringer is your favorite!
Hi Christea, I blame myself for watching your channel. I shouldn't have! While you were talking about Sword of Kaigen I went and purchased it. All because of your recommendation! And I added Guns of the Drawn to my wishlist to buy it later! The way you recommended these books I really wished to read them ASAP. And none of other Booktubers managed to do that. What is your secret? Honesty? You honestly loved these books? 😃
As you know, I'm a HUGE fan of Brandon Sanderson, and I agree...I love Mistborn Era One better than the Stormlight Archive (which I have read twice in one year, all four books and two novellas). Also I read Guns of the Dawn because fo the hype that you gave it. I gave it FIVE stars and it was one of my favourite books of 2023. Thank you. I've read the two books in the Children of Time series. The first book, to me was okay, but the second book turned me off from the series. Sorry, I DNFd the series. There are other books that he's written...that have caught my eye, so I will be picking them up...as the year goes on. I also loved the Emperor's Soul. Oh, so good. Also, The Sword of Kaigen. I read it years ago...and I still think about it. I need to pick up Untethered Sky by Fonda Lee. She's such a talented writer. Maybe this year. I still haven't progressed past Red Rising. Ugh. And I've read that book twice. I was going to buddy read it with Jade, but then that fell through...and just never pushed forward. We shall see. I'm glad that you've enjoyed it this far (Dark Age). Tress of the Emerald Sea was the first book I read in 2023...and loved it, too. We don't always love the books for the same reasons, but our tastes seem to coincide for the most part...though I'm still hoping that you will read Antimatter Blues with me, some day. JK
oh noooo. yeah i haven't heard the best thing about the rest of the children of time series, but i'm still willing to give it a shot. UNLIKE ANTIMATTER BLUES HAHAHA honestly graff i don't think the red rising saga will be for you 🤣
Loved watching this while doing evening chores 💜 also agree that Mistborn hits differently than stormlight. When I reread it after stormlight it hit different and was a bit more enjoyable which surprised me
aww thanks angela 🥰 there is just something so special about mistborn
I think I finally found a booktuber in you that has the same taste as me in books. I am really excited now to read the books on your best books list that I haven’t had on my tbr before. 😁
awww i'm so glad to hear that!!!
Tress was my first Sanderson book. I adored it and lent it to a friend who lent it to his friend. I have a feeling I will just need to get a new copy to read to pieces. ❤
that copy of tress belongs to the world now 🙏
@@christeascozycorner if a random copy ever passes you by in the wild, it's probably mine. She's the people's Tress now
I NEED to read Sword of Kaigen and Guns of the Dawn! I love a stand-alone and these two are highly praised. Great list!
AAAAA PLEASE DO AND LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OF THEM
Yes, Oathbringer is also my favourite Stormlight book. I thought I was the only one. Everyone else I’ve seen talk about the series loveeee book 2 so much more
right! i was expecting to not like oathbringer as much because i heard it's a lot of people's least favorite, so this was really surprising!
Yay untethered sky!! I need to read some Tchaikovsky in 2024. I’ve got fomo
yessss let the fomo sink in 😈
Yaayyyy Untethered Sky! I also WOULD LOVE to see more in that world. It made me really excited for future Fonda Lee works, for sure.
Ok I really need to check out Guns of the Dawn finally
if you dnf guns of the dawn i will be sad but i will understand 😂😂
Dark age was phenomenal! The whole series is the best reading experience of my life, and I’m old enough to be your mom 🤦🏼♀️ The light bringer blew my mind….
that makes me super excited for light bringer!!!
I’m so glad you loved children of time! I loved that one too. Sounds like I need to check out guns of the dawn!! Subtle romance plots - SO GOOD ❤
YES YOU GOTTAAAAAA
I'm so glad that RUclips recommend this video to me, immediate subscribe! Emily Wilde, Children of Time, The Emporer's Soul and Tress of the Emerald Sea were also some of my favorite reads of 2023 ♡
GREAT TASTE 🤝🤝
Sword of Kaigan is on my 2024 TBR and I can't wait!
Omg, I'm so excited to see Guns of the Dawn on someone's favorites! It was one of mine, too, and I rarely like military fantasy. It's so so underhyped!
YESSSSSS MORE GUNS OF THE DAWN LOVE 💗💗💗

welcome and thank you!!! 🥰 and yesss that's definitely a video i want to do sometime. now i just need to sit down and really think about it haha
You are the only reviewer that has actually convinced me to buy and read the Children of Time. It sounds like it’s something I’d like and have not read a lot of Science Fiction
OOOH I HOPE YOU ENJOY IT. i feel the pressure now though HAHA
ahhh I am so glad this video was recommended to me because every book you talked about here is either something I had already read/or something that is on my tbr. Hey Christea, I just bought Guns of dawn because of you!!!

THE WRITING IN GIDEON IS CHEF'S KISS BRILLIANT
red rising is one of those series for me where the lows are low, but the HIGHS ARE FREAKING HIGH
I’ve been off Booktube for a bit and am just now seeing your new bookshelf setup! It looks so good!! ❤ hoping I’ll be uploading again in the next couple days. 😩
thank you victoria!!! and ughh i knoww, it's so hard to stay consistent with uploads haha. looking forward to more of your videos!!!
Clicked on this video because I saw Gideon the ninth in the thumbnail 😊😊 it seems we have similar book tastes so I’m very excited to start reading Brandon Sanderson and sword of Kaigen !!
YEEEEEE GIDEON
stormlight and sword of kaigen are very different from locked tomb though!
Glad my feed shared your video with me, very similar tastes. Children of Time sounds creepy but interesting with the spiders lol. If you want to get into sci fi more I definitely recommend Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir. It’s fantastic!!
i have read project hail mary before! it wasn't for me unfortunately 🥲
Reading Oathbringer now!
