The fact of the Sino Japanese war from 1931 to 1945: many people believe that at that time China had only the Communist Party and the Kuomintang, so there were only two colors of China on the map. But the fact is that China was very chaotic at that time. There are many large-scale internal wars. After about a decade of super chaotic civil war, most troops, all heavy weapons, bullets and artillery shells were used to fight the civil war. For example, during the Chinese civil war in 1931, the Kuomintang deployed onemillion troops to destroy the Chinese Communist Party. At this time, it is difficult to resist a well prepared Japan.

It is not Really, The Chinese Signed an Unease Treaty Forming the United Chinese Front (Which was Temporary and not Even a Political Power), Well They show here The True Warlord Era Over the Sino Japanese War is Not that Complicated and Chaotic, One things is set on their mind, Take down The Japanese.

@@AaronIsCool450 You know too little. The United Front was established in 1937 (only the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, China's Mongolia and Tibet, and some warlords did not participate). In 1931, Japan invaded China for the first time (occupied Northeast China). At that time, China was already very chaotic. There are more than ten major warlords, including the Kuomintang, the Communist Party, Sichuan, Mongolia, Tibet, Fujian and Hubei. They all control tens of millions of people and hundreds of thousands of square kilometers of land. They vied with each other for territory and population. Therefore, the Chinese people do not care about Japan's invasion of Northeast China. The second Japanese invasion of China was in 1937. At that time, China was going through a civil war between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, which had lasted for ten years. Both sides were exhausted. A large number of outstanding troops and generals disappeared in the civil war, a large number of people died, and the weapons and ammunition of both sides were exhausted. At this time, Japan invaded China, and China could not resist. Therefore, Japan easily occupied the Hebei Henan plain and won the Shanghai battle. Therefore, when we look at the Sino Japanese War, we should not think that China's combat capability is very weak, because before the Sino Japanese War, China had experienced about 22 years of internal war from 1915 to 1937。

Very detailed and informative video. However, there are still some mistakes.
    1. There are two major Muslim rebellions in 1850-70s instead of one. One is Panthay Rebellion in Yunnan, and the other is Dungan Revolt in Shaanxi and Gansu in 1862-1877. The map showed the rebellion in Shaanxi, but didn't use the right name.
    2. The location of Kouang-Tchéou-Wan was on the east side of the Leizhou Peninsula, which is today's Zhanjiang City. The location on the map is too east.
    3. There were many changes of province borders after the founding of PRC, including Jiangsu & Anhui border, Anhui & Jiangxi border, Guangdong & Guangxi border, etc., which is not showed on the map. In 1969-1979, the eastern border of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was also different from the current one.
    4. Sino-Indian War of 1962. After 1947, India claimed the sovereinity of Aksai Chin, which is beyond the Macartney-Macdonald Line of India-China border. In this war, China got back the control of Aksai Chin, as well as the Arunachal Pradesh, but gave up Arunachal in the coming winter.

Broad approximation - there were hundreds if not thousands of pockets of KMT remnants. The anti-banditry campaigns of the 1950's were motivated in part by the fact many KMT holdouts had retreated into the mountains and recruited bands of mountain outlaws to fight alongside them. Most significantly, a force of 20,000 under Li Mi advanced back into Yunnan from Burma in 1951, albeit briefly.

Some division of provinces is wrong. Gansu has some of its boundaries just next to Mongolia. And Henan and Jiangsu are now not “neighbors ” next to each other . And there are a few mistakes in the division of Shaanxi and Guangdong Province.
Well, though the video has some mistakes, it’s still a good job.

    • @YanxiZheng
      @YanxiZheng 18 дней назад

Some very detailed mistakes in nowadays provinces:
1.Gansu-Mongolia border (Mazongshan,Gansu have a border around 70kms and ever a bordercheck port with Mongolia )
      2.Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei border,the enclave of Hebei Garent shown(北三县/大三香)
3.Shaanxi's north border with Inner Mongolia.(In fact the border in the video is the location of the Great Wall, but the real border is over that during hundreds years ago) 4.Hebei-Henan border(the west part in the video still keep the shape during the Qing Dynasty)
      5.Anhui-Jiangsu border(Counties exchange at 1955)
6.Anhui-Hubei border(Yingshan County belongs to Hubei now)
7.Anhui-Jiangxi border(Wuyuan County is in Jiangxi since 1949)
8.Guangdong-Guangxi border(Huaiji County was given to Guangdong when Guangxi had coastline)
      9.Hebei-Shandong border
      10.Shandong-Henan border(the Dongming County)
      11.Hubei-Chongqing-Shaanxi border
      12.Qinghai-Gansu Northwest border(changed in 2001)
Chinese provincial change is very severe during the 20ce. Actually lots of these boundaries was correct decades ago but not now, maybe the author forgot to edit or they were ignored.

There's the second opium war, the Russian invasions in the North and Russian backed independence movements in the Northwest, and fighting against the French in Vietnam. Also, if Joseon is labeled as a protectorate of Qing, why isn't Vietnam also labeled as such? I've also never seen people consider Lanfang as an extension of Qing. Qing's control over Taiwan also was far from complete. It would take the Japanese well into the 1930s to fully control the entire island.

Joseon and Vietnam are very different when it comes to Qing's rule. The Qing started a war against Joseon in 1637,occupied its capital and captured almost all its royal members(including the heir to the throne), forcing the king of Joseon to kowtow to the Qing emperor to surrender, who accepted all the conditions imposed by Qing dynasty, including paying substantial tribute such as rice, paper, silver etc to Qing every year, obey Qing's millitary commands, send the heir to the capital of Qing as a hostage before returning to inherit the throne, stop any diplomatic relations with Ming etc. These conditions means that Qing had some kind of actual control(though not much) over the Joseon dynasty. However, the only millitary action against Vietnam in the 18th century failed at last. So Qing never had any actual control over Vietnam. The vassel relations between Qing and Vietnam is only nominal and symbolic. That's why you can see European maps in the 18th and 19th centuries show Joseon as part of Qing empire but Vietnam as an independent country. In fact, sometimes even maps made by Qing itself showed Joseon as part of its own, but never showed Vietnam.

@@octopus_72 It’s not Weird. You see it’s exactly 6 years away from the Austro-Prussian War. Which changed the course of German History. The War would Made Austria Weaker but Prussia Stronger to the point of them being able to defeat The 2nd French Empire in the Franco-Prussian War (1870-1871), which created the German Empire. Therefore 1860 is an Appropriate Date. What you said about 1815. I took it into consideration and the would make the video too much Longer. And also from 1815 to The Year of the Schleswig Wars (Prussia, Austrian Empire vs Denmark). They were Peaceful and has not done any major wars up until that point. Therefore proving my Point 1860 is a Major Start Day.

@@ClassicalMusicMan lol, for us Chinese, German history video should start from the Holy Roman Empire in 1522. Because the birth of the German nation was based on language, Martin Luther translated the Bible in that year, the concept of the Deutschland nation state came into being.
