- The Lemon Twigs' Brian and Michael D'Addario grew up in a musical household while also acting in movies and on Broadway. Now, their theatrical, '60s-inspired pop is getting noticed by everyone from QuestLove to Elton John. The teenage brothers spoke with "CBS This Morning: Saturday" co-host Anthony Mason about how they started their band, and perform "These Words" from their album, "Do Hollywood."
The Lemon 🍋 Twigs are really great! 👍 They keep getting better all the time!
Although they incorporate historical sounds, they do something new with pushing the half note to the max. Finally, courage in music!. They cut right through the bullshit and enter our heads with something so awesomely refreshing!
Greta Van Fleet is sweating profusely
their kexp performance is worth a watch
Thank you parents! You did a great job to the world! Love you guys
the 17yr old will bring this band to stardom.
theyre gonna be huge i knew it from the first little show i saw them play at. outdid every band there
i saw them with sunflower bean and they did not out do them. lemon twigs are obviously super talented but i felt like it was a weird performance like spinal tap or something. the over the top spinning of the drum stick and stuff. it just looked cheesy to me.
Joe H i first saw sunflower bean open for no joy and Diiv and they stole the show there. and i love No Joy. the most entertaining band live is charly bliss imo...
i actually left before Diiv. i dont like them...i went for No Joy. i nvr heard of sunflower bean. i saw no joy twice and it is a wall of sound between songs. they are constantly playing with pedals and tuning guitars.
Joe H listening right to Yak. sounds cool..i must admit that i am drawn to female vox first but this sounds really cool. thx.
i go to close to 20 shows a year. the best bands i saw last year were Wolf Alice, Bully, Tacocat, Charly Biss, Potty Mouth, Tancred, Wavves and Best Coast to name a few.
music's not a competition. that's just the capitalism talking.
Saw them live last month. The drummer (who also plays guitar and sings in the set) brought such bright energy with his leg splits haha. Also the chemistry between the brothers is evident. Wish them big success!
I literally loved all my dads records from the 60s and 70s but I never made a band out of those influences like these guys. They were and always have been so talented
That bassplayer is steady as a rock.
She's just chilling
😍
Reminds me somewhat of the great band "Jellyfish." If they keep on this path, their music will be amazing.
hippydippy huge jellyfish fan here, love the comparison! Rjmj and the Twigs should collab!
@@2008ilovemusic Yesss! Also Big Star and Badfinger.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 superb document of the most gifted Power Pop & Beyond band on the planet, F-A-C-T! Saw the brothers three weeks ago on my hometown Madrid City Spain to a unanimous acclaim, june 2024...They don't include "This Words" in the Madrid setlist and i found the pluscuamperfect solution in the amazing rendition at CBS studios, "Do Hollywood" days...❤
We got a reborn Keith Moon back there. Joanne by Mike Nesmith brought me here and I’m digging these guys so far. Real musicians who join the likes of Greta Van Fleet in the next generation of rockers.
that little performance of I wanna hold your hand is so sweet ♥
I'm 55 yrs old and these kids are blowing my mind!
They took the best of what music had to offer and made their own sound
Yes....hope for the future
do hollywood is such a great album. i have to thank dianne coffee for putting them on my radar....
Foxygen really spawned both those two. All 3 are great tho and a cool genre of indie the 60s indie
Jellyfish comes to mind and I mean that as compliment.
The Bassist is so odd. i love her
Michael has raw magnetism. It's quite rare and uncanny. Good to finally see something like this.
Omg they're really getting noticed 😊
They're brilliant.
Best wishes from England... love your British sound x
Impressed with these two brothers. Look forward to much more from them.
Wow love this music !
CUTE!!! Saw them at the Echo. Really good show!
This band is tight af. True performers
The Lemon Twigs are a fantastic group waiting for their first hit song to happen.
We're just getting to know about these amazingly talented dudes in the uk care of BBC 6 Radio. What a find 👍
They're getting a lot of praise on 6, and for good reason :)
Love these guys!
you think the drummer was influenced by keith moon?
1,000 %
Wow this is really an extraordinairy performance.
i wish i grew up like this ;-;
Great Band!
by far the best album i have heard all year
I first saw them on one of these morning shows and it was really one of my favorite musical experiences of my life
"It started with the Beatles and the Beach Boys".
I am so damn good. The first time I ever heard them was a few days ago when they dropped "Corner of my Eye" and I immediately fell in love and told my partner "listen to this, they're a mix of the Beatles and the Beach Boys".
Then I got upset when this narrator first said their influences were a mix of British invasion, I was like "you forgot the Beach Boys!" But then we have their dad himself saying it all started there :)
theyre so good
They are great!!! Alot of talent going on there!!!
Brian is my favorite😂😘
magnificent
This drumming tho
You can really see the guy did his homework! Making Moon, Keltner, Helm, Watts, Starr, etc, all proud.
CBS gets it wrong..60's inspired? British invasion ok to a degree..but their actual music is more 70's sounding, Todd Rundgren, Big Star, Glam..
Dude so unique
That Rickenbacker looks huge. Hell yeah
Brian reminds me of Keith Moon so much on drums, never thought we would ever see an artist like him ever again
It is Michael
Amazing. Amazing.
This is the show where I first saw them.
Just seen them on the Conan O'Brien show .....They have a Built To Spill vibe.....
Andrew Cabaj ..Idk that's who popped in my head when I heard this....
Do you mean Spilt Milk?..
I was always wondering what Lionel Messi did before he joined Barcelona...
That drop back into the hook blows me right the fuck up. Rock and roll.
Fantastic
They needed to turn up mikes mic 😂
toms are back!
reading coments from 7 years ago... all became real.
WOWZER
Does this mean that my Casiotone 6000 is now worth something?
Yeah we got tee shirts lol
Are they still a band?
Holstein tee rocks.
Talento innegable 👌✨
What is the song at the intro??
Just a RUclipsr Hi + Lo
RYAN C
Cant find the song. Who is the artist?
Just a RUclipsr It’s not on RUclips but it’s the Lemon Twigs
Hi + lo on go to school
They are great. Fantastic musicianship, great performances, records, etc. They aren’t particularly good singers yet, but it doesn’t bother me at all. I love their music and whole thing, so it totally makes up for their vocals. I’m sure they’ll improve as singers as they get older anyway.
I love their thin, raw singing. They are fearless.
Pop?
Yep this is real pop music
Who is Questlove?
Andrew Bevan the roots ring a bell
Andrew Bevan Questlove you're not in the house
Oh so they are industry plants. Got it
No
Another eye and pyramid....
They just need to move on from the children’s music played here. Some bands peak too soon.
i really am trying like they seem so cool but i really don't dig their music
