I know this is an old video, but to me it feels like my hands are slightly too small. I can't wrap my thumb all the way around and still hit notes accurately, as when I try to mute i end up pushing down with my thumb and it allows for sound to come through out of the low E string, and if I don't push I can't get to the A string. Also (unrelated to that issue) I can't seem to mute all the strings but A consistently as my high E string gets unmuted, and when I try to mute it again I end up pressing harder and its enough for my D string to start making sound. Might need some help here.

I just cant mute and press a note at the same time so I use the finger you use to play to just mute all the strings and my middle finger plays everything... Thanks for the videos

Thank you! This way is so much better especially if you are no in a band. But please use an audio compressor next time. Your guitar is way too loud and your voice way too low.
He does a little bit of strumming however he mostly picks the notes. Listen closely to the recording. I'm not saying you can't play it this way. I'm just saying that he mainly picks the notes with very little strumming. Perhaps he does it live but in the recording that's the way he plays it

Nice job. It sounds like such a simple riff, but there is master-level string muting involved if you wanna play it correctly.

How he is playing the whole song is completely of but his technique is perfect it's 7 on a and then 7,9 on g and he's playing it higher on the low e
