this guy is outstanding snowboarder, he can ride steep stuff, but what's the point in what he's doing at 1:21? basically vertical wall, you can't ride it with style, you barely can jump from edge to edge. looks clumsy and awkward. did he underestimate the steepness or what?
I guess the point would be just to say that he rode that crazy 68 degree line. It's pretty common to approach those steep lines with that amount of caution. He's going down slow so he can manage all the risks involved with riding something that steep, with a lot of exposure, and a lot of slough. Its not always about style as much as getting down in one piece since they were in the middle of nowhere, fully exposed, and without easy medical evac. Watch his films on Netflix and you'll see him rip lines that are safer and then go slower in sections that are too dangerous to just go full speed.

He's put so many years into his craft that he's said he would rather focus all his energy into performing a few difficult descents rather than a ton of regular descents. It's purely where he's at in his "career", he's just always looking for the next big thing. Also, it's not just steepness. He's riding at a very high altitude, so even after weeks of acclimating to that altitude, it had a LARGE effect on performance. Additionally, that's not even the main line. That was just the test line he did where he fell. The main one took him 45 min to descend.
From what I’ve heard him say elsewhere about this descent, the snowpack changed and became unexpectedly hardened, making it the hardest run of his life.
This guy is a huge inspiration. I'm a skier not a snowboarder and I could watch this guy for hours. Respect to Jeremy jones
