Calories in/calories out is bunk. Lost 90 pounds increasing my calories. It was all inflammation and which foods I was putting in. And don’t go by a list of “anti inflammatory foods.” Fish, blueberries, and leafy greens are some of my worse inflammatory foods for me. People need to do an elimination diet to pinpoint their inflammation triggers.this is why people struggle to lose weight. They listen to the calories in/calories out and exercise tips and never make progress. I’d say most people watching these videos would probably benefit from removing all grains and processed sugars. And also look into chemical sensitivities in plants such as lectins, oxalates, etc. Took me a year to figure out my diet.

@@ProfShibe no, it does not. I tried several diets with a few different caloric intakes. Some people said “maybe your body is in starvation mode, and you need it increase your calories a bit. So I would play around with it and adjust. Nope. Did not lose the weight.
Then I did the carnivore diet where I ate six full ribeyes a day, which was at least triple the calories of the highest caloric intake I tried the other way. Other times it was 4 pounds of bacon. I did the math on the calories. I did not change lifestyle in any other way- didn’t change exercise or anything. I work from home and most of my time is spent on the couch/desk. No supplements, medications. Same house and living environment. No major changes in stress. You can only deny what you see first hand for so long.

4 Pounds of Bacon in one day ?
Then 6 full ribeye steaks ?

@@jnstonbely5215 not both together. I did only pork or only beef. But yes, that much. Keep in mind I was breastfeeding and healing. So over time that dwindled down as I corrected my deficiencies. Went down eventually to eating two meals a day (no snacking)- usually 1 pound of ground beef for first meal and a ribeye for second meal.
No, no heart attack. My labwork for my cholesterol improved eating that way from before starting. It was out of range. Then after a full year of strict carnivore of only beef, salt, and water my cholesterol was in range along with my other labs that were out of range. Grew hair in. Health greatly improved.

Thanks, I am having lymphedema issues since dec. the morning I woke and found it I called my surgeon she said I was clear for to many years (8) to have that, went to er they thought there was a fracture in my elbow told me to see a dr to have my arm set in a cast. The first one I said saw nothing it was lymphedema, got 2nd opinion he said the same as did my pcp. Went to my surgeon she knew right away they were correct, sent me to therapy which was a joke, she never mentioned a diet, no real exercise, I told her what I did and she said good. She seemed to passive about it. My arm got worse that is when I went on here and found you. Your doing videos have helped me figure out how to do things I already knew but was never told and afraid to try. I know you are merely giving us your thoughts but you have done more for me than anyone has. I will see the therapist and figure out when I should get a sleeve and if need a pump at some point. One thing I learned was a small trampoline 15 minutes twice a day helps. I know we shouldn’t rely on RUclips but I am finding so much more help. Thanks Terri Dallas tx

No we should look to u tube there's some very very helpful things on u tube. Iv learned a lot about all sorts of things. Cars , my hair extensions, how to use a sewing machine. Lots lots more but healthy stuff is spot on. I have a bulging disc in my spin and waiting on a xray for arthritis in my hips ? Anyway it runs in my family. I have been fasts just water. I'm not a real big eater anyway. But I put on 2 stone during lockdown. From 8 or less stone to just over 10 stone. It's making my back worse and no it is. I went though a near death thing in 2019. It changed me as a person. Then just as I thought I was getting myself together bam March 2020 lockdown. This set me back and I have been lacking myself away and eatting crap I kid u not. So this isn't me. I'm not this person. 10 stone may be nothing to some but I was only ever that sort of weight when I had my kids. This isn't me at all. So I'm on a Misson to lose this couple of stone.if I can get down to 9 then I can easy lose have stone from there. Iv dine it before. I'm so glad I woke up to myself. God its so easy to pile on the pounds . It's not so easy getting it of. Iv been at it 3 weeks now and I'm just under 10 stone. I was 10 stone 5 pounds. So 6 pounds. There's no excuse there's so many easy day movements fro. U tube u can even do sitting on a chair . I Don't need to but its a start for anyone. Any weight lose is better then none. Drink a large glass if water b 4 your meal cut out sugar and fat and have smaller potions. Good luck. 👍

I am currently undergoing treatment for lymphedema and lipedema (sorry for the spelling) and have started an anti-inflammatory diet. I didn’t know what it felt like to not be inflamed however the noticeable difference in just a few weeks is huge. Anti-inflammatory diet is here to stay. I feel more engerized helping me be able to work out more, I eat less, I’m losing weight, and I can think so much more clearly as well as the lymphedema and lipodema reducing which is always a good thing.

Can you please share your diet or can i contact you in other platforms if u don't feel comfortable sharing? because i really don't want to go through surgery this summer, and i'm a lil confused since some say that keto is the way to go, but it contains red meat and dairy and they are a no no when u have lipedema, so keto never worked for me.

@@gem7708 I rarely eat red meat and keep to chicken and turkey. I don’t eat dairy anymore and have found many vegan dairy substitutions for every dairy product making it very easy. I’ve started buying a lot of specialty items from thrive market, it’s cheaper and have many more options. You can also shop by diet that way too. I have been using Pinterest mostly for recipes. If you want, I can email you some resources my nutritionist sent me which I have been using for assistance with the keto diet. Just leave me your email and I will send it over. I also recently picked up americas test kitchen keto cookbook for more ideas. My legs have shrunk many inches since starting this diet and adding in exercise where I can, including walking on my lunch break in the back parking lot at work. My rule of thumb is what I am eating can’t have more than 5-6g of carbs, if it says keto or keto friendly then it’s fine, and it’s not dairy then I’m fine. It’s a hard diet to stick with but consistency is the key. I hope this helps.

I really like all of them and especially like certain exercises you do in each. I have a bad knee and its hard to do some of the bending exercises and squatting exercises but I don't want to stop. Also, as far as diet, why is caffeine inflammatory? I did not know that. I have cut out milk and now use only almond milk and have cut my carbs and sugars down about 90% because I drink my coffee still sweetened. I have tried monk fruit and other sweetness and they taste weird. I know I should probably get rid of all the caffeine and it would help knowing why its bad so I can process it.

But I would like to note that I was never over 140lbs. I quit smoking, watched what I ate and got plenty of exercise. It changed my hormones and triggered my lipedema. I have also heard that using BMI to determine health is antiquated and no longer considered valid.

Yes, I will plan to go more in-depth on the differences in another video to help explain, but generally Lipedema is an overgrowth of fat storage which can resemble fluid retention. Lymphedema is an accumulation of fluid (lymph fluid) in an area of the body because of a dysfunction or damage of the lymphatic system

Hi, I appreciate these videos, I have been struggling with my weight loss for years which is quite frustrating considering I also have a BS in Nutrition. Daily jogging in college, and mountain biking, P90x, I swear I have tried everything. The last 4 years I have been pretty consistently doing CrossFit class 5 times a week, aside from shoulder surgery. My question, I was so frustrated due to my extreme diligence with nutrition and exercise I consulted a plastic surgeon in the hopes he would confirm my suspicions of lipedema, which he did. Can I continue with Crossfit? Will the volume, intensity and hypertrophy contribute to my legs swelling. I also supplement with creatine, I'm wondering if this isn't such a good idea because it can make you retrain water. Thank you.

To mention intermittent fasting and completely ignore keto and carnivore...???. I personally was really skinny with lymphedema in my legs many years ago.. now I've got lipidemia in my arms and my legs.. I don't still carry much weight at all.. almost all of my weight is from the lipidima and lymphedema..all I know is the keto diet, when I can stay on it, almost completely controls my symptoms of swelling but there's a base level of lipidema it will not touch

I believe it. I’m just in the beginning stages by I’m seeing success with managing my lymphedema now that I’ve switched to the carnivore diet and intermittent fasting.

So Lipedema is a lymphatic issue?

  • @williamhenry3337

"Dr Google " shows that lymphedema is 3 times more likely to occur it women. A female health Podcaster said she never wears a bra (especially an underwater bra) because it can impact lymphedema. Is this why women have 3x the rate?

I'm 1 week into a restriction diet to cure my lymphatic autoimmune issues. My legs fill with fluid after standing for a while. Gets very bad at the end of the day. Legs very heavy with pitting edema. Been this way for 10 years after coming off another restriction diet too suddenly.
My current diet is organic vegan paleo... no processed foods, no grains, no gluten, no legumes, no corn, no peanuts, no meat, no eggs, no dairy (I'm vegan anyway), no added sugars. All whole foods, plant based, but without the grains and peanuts.
What I eat... sweet potato, most veggies, most fruits, most nuts, tofu, tempeh, kimchi, kefir, kombucha, water. All organic too.
Fixing whatever I did 10 years ago that messed up my gut microbiome, with natural foods and fermented foods.
In 1 week I'm starting to think I'm cured, but don't want to jinx it so early.
I had every test done, lymph tests and scans, heart tests, vein tests and scans, seen doctors, nature paths and allergy specialists with no answers. I tried going gluten free a few times, but it never helped. I'm thinking maybe it was/is peanuts??

If the bread and the pasta on the very end of the triangle means that you can eat as much of the two of those as you want then there's something very wrong with that pyramid 😞
