Katherine, this is Jennye whose sale you were at. Thank you so much for your positive comments and your fun attitude as you were walking around. I'm very pleased by how well the sale went and especially the donation to my church, which was greater than I could ever imagine. People were wonderful. I've enjoyed watching your channel, keep up the great ideas!
OMG!!! I am so happy you came to check out the video! People have REALLY loved it! My mom was texting me while she watched and telling me how excited she was for everything. You really inspired lots of people! I am so glad the donations to your church exceeded your expectations! I wish you all the best and thank you for all the work you did!
Jennye, your crafted items overwhelmed me! Such care, time, and talent put into them. Your amazing generosity to sell them at no profit to you is astounding as well! 💙
I call this kind of crafting remothering, which is a phrase that I stole from my friend Kris. When you see something and it just needs a little love and attention instead of being tossed into a landfill. This video gave me a ton of ideas. Thanx for sharing!
Hi! This is Jennye’s pastor! Thanks so much for shouting out her amazing work, and for your support of our church! I loved watching your video and hearing your reactions 😍
Oh Katherine, how lucky you were to be able to go to this Ladies Sale. I was so tickled to watch your reaction to so many of the items that were there. So many of these things were things that I grew up seeing everyday in my kitchen cabinets... or out in the Pantry Cupboards out in my Laundry Room. And that are still there. I am living in the house that I grew up in. Heck, I'm 58 yrs old and I know that there are things out back that are older than I am. A few years ago, before I found this fantastic Vintage Community, I had planned on just going thru and clearing out so much of what I thought was crap. Now I know that all of these things that I have just taken for granted all of these years are now actually worth something. It's so funny, whenever I am in the kitchen cooking and I pull out a bowl that I haven't used in a very long time, and quite honestly was just going to get rid of, well, now I flip over everything looking for a makers mark. Now my parents/family never had a whole lot. They were probably what would have been considered Lower Middle Class. But we never really wanted for a whole lot of things, and we always had what we needed. I'm not sure if it's because my parents were children during WW2 and were just born and raised to be alot more frugal and thrifty than we were, but that's just how it was .Most of my friends were the same way. My neighborhood has always been a very stable neighborhood to live it, so most of the friends that I grew up with in Kindergarten (There were 2 in my area... or you just didn't go) and Elementary School were kids that I graduated High School with. We all grew up together. Things are much different these days, but back when my parents were looking to buy this house that they bought for $8600 in 1951 was out in the boondocks and they had dirt roads and they were asked why on earth would they move way out there. Where they had a Dairy Farm around the corner (Which is now an apartment Complex since the early 70's). We are now very centrally located and pretty much everything we could ever need is in a 25 mile radius, which is still waaayyy within the city limits (and then some) and of course within the same county. There are still 'Boondocks' in the Jacksonville, Florida area/county, but that takes 45 minutes or more to get to, LOL, I only go on special occasions. I'm so glad that you were REALLY enjoying that Blast from the Past Sale. I think that I would have enjoyed it myself, and I probably would have pushed you a bit to buy some of the bits and bobs that you were regretting that you didn't pick up. Or, I might have just bought them myself. Oooohhhh.... so sorry, that was bad.......
I think of so much of those items as ‘ephemeral’ because they just didn’t make it until now because people threw them out… old tins and all were basically just disposable. I am glad you kept so many items. My grandmother’s house was a home of curiosities and that is how I want my home to be. I just don’t have room for more art supplies! Ugh… I was once told collecting art supplies and making art is actually two different hobbies… and now I am mindful to try to only buy supplies for the projects at hand as much as possible.
How wonderful, to share this person's work with the world!! I will be re-watching this just to build upon my ideas with her inspirations. I loved hearing your excitement at all of the wonderful pieces you were finding! I loved everything!! The fact too that you are building upon your collection with the pieces that she saved, is priceless!
I'm impressed that you were able to restrain yourself. There were some amazing finds there. As soon as I saw the green display stands, they look like jadeite and I freaking love jadeite. Your reaction to the plastic wood 😂😂😂 I actually have a lot of it, modern, because I love buying vintage furniture that most people would just toss, so I get it free or cheap, and fix it up. For me it's a great way to decorate my home. I completely relate to the insane amount of stuff because I make and create so much stuff. One of these days I am going to take it to the flea market and sell it but not until after things calm down and everyone is healthy. The dog!!! I'm in love because I'm a crazy dog lady. I have two yorkies and I have a stroller for them because they go everywhere with me. So that dog is adorable and I think it's a similar color and look to the one I bought at your live planter sale. Which brings me to my next point. Watching this has really inspired me and given ideas on what to do with some of my planters. I'm trying to find a spot in my home for a little dog area because I have my vintage planters with dogs and the poodle stuff heading my way. I can't wait to get it together 😊
Oh Katherine! How fortunate you were to find a sale like that! The items you found were astonishing. I wanted to transport myself through the screen to be there with you! Thank you for sharing!
The bigger assemblages are so amazing but you really can’t store them without taking up the equivalent of the space used for an entire rubber made. I ended up finding the bigger ones impractical to grab more than just one solely for storage consideration.
I’m so glad you got the kewpies in the cup. I always pick up broken figurines that people are ready to throw away for assemblages, I have quite the collection.
Everything is so amazing! The woman that created these is so talented with a wonderful eye for wit and whimsy. Would love to know when you will have some of these items for sale.
Feel free to enquirer about any item I picked up at the sale. There are a few I won’t let go of including the candles and a couple of tins. You can message me via my website contact form (link is in the video description.)
Wow, what a wonderful story. A once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m glad you got to experience it. Thanks for sharing it with us. Kewpies in a cup, that Was one of my favorites.
WOW !!! Every item is just gorgeous!!! This lady has such an amazing creative eye. I love every piece. I reached for the "cup of Kewpies" and the round tin form with the orange sticker and a few other pieces. So surprised and happy to see later in the video that you purchased them. Love all the unique tins!! I want them ALL!! Thank-you for sharing Katherine. :)
@@KatherineYoung It looked very overwhelming,, and everything was wonderful! I’m sooo jealous😩 Saw so much things I wanted and the things you got was absolutely stunning and beautiful!😊🤗
Oh my goodness. I’m not sure if I would have lost my mind before I ran out of money. Too bad, those lovely treasures should sell at a craft fair or online. I loved everything.
I loved everything too! But I get it, selling is a whole other animal. I have so much art no one has ever purchased that I actually make less art because of how much I already have. If you don’t have the ability to sell as you make… it can be a real problem and I can totally relate to the struggle. Just running this channel I can’t get to my poshmark or my eBay to get them back up and hopefully will find another virtual assistant to help me. I feel creators aren’t innately sellers often but in a capitalistic society we are kinda expected to be.
Your 2 new green display stands could be Uranium glass. Shine a black light on them to see if they glow! This was a once in a lifetime sale! Wish I could have gone!
Extreme 😲 WOW!! Truly irresistible items!! Such talent, patience, creativity and generosity by the maker! New subscriber, found you from Misty's pop-up shop video 😄
I am so impressed with this woman’s talent and creativity! I am collecting items for assemblage but have “artistic freeze”. I am scared to ruin, make mistakes I am collecting for making Putz houses too
I like making nondestructive assemblages. I understand the feeling of ruining something. Hot glue that can be removed, tying things, and using broken items are my go to for vintage assemblages.
I know she tried selling at shows. Selling is a TON of work. I need to find another virtual assistant if I ever want my online shops up and running again while still creating videos and working full time. I worked in marketing and communications doing graphic design at Walt Disney World.

I mean she is the mother of all vintage crafters for sure! I am still in shock and it was awhile ago. ❤️
I was talking to you during the video footage. “Get the owls…what are you doin…get the owls!” YOU DID! So many great assemblages!
“I can’t take them all.” I just kept repeating that to myself. Loved the owls!
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy all the vintage eye candy! 😍😍😍
TFS...what a wonderful video of cool things.
Thanks for checking it out! I just want everyone to see her work!

Oh yay thank you for checking out the video! Seeing her work was such an amazing experience and I am so glad I can share it with others.
That’s so sweet of you to donate the profits to her church. Your enthusiasm is contagious 💕❤️
I think it is only fair… I won’t be letting go of that many though!

Yay! That is exactly what I was hoping for by sharing it with everyone.
What a talented woman, and such a great opportunity to pick up a ton of great finds! I loved everything you chose.
Seriously… what do you even choose!?!? For every piece I took I left five more… it was nuts.
The little kangaroo measure tape is a Kinder Egg toy from the 80s. We have one. Good find!
Oh fun! Thanks for the info. I keep telling myself I don’t collect this and that and now I am borderline collecting kangaroos… 😂🤦🏻♀️

Amazing work, very kind of her to basicly donate all of it. I wonder if she ever tried selling on Etsy.
What Disney production were you in? Tfs
