WOW! Great video. I have to do this job on my versa, I was scared to death, now I feel much better. I had to replace the steering wheel, so I know everything from there. The clock spring I got on eBay looks a little different so I hope there won’t be any problems.

@@mquz8909 my clock spring was also an eBay purchase. I think I only paid like $10ish dollars for it.

It seems to be a common problem with Nissan.

Hey Chris, I also have a 2008 Versa and have been told I need the clock spring replaced. I feel like I can do this I’m just terrified of the air bag going off lol - is this a legitimate concern?

@@JurassicMatt be sure to disconnect the battery before you do anything else and you’ll be fine.

That seemed like a difficult fix. Well, I'm glad it works! Will it pass inspection?

I couldn't even get the airbag module out and somehow in the process seem to have messed something up behind it cause now my hazards randomly come on. I hate cars.
Edit: Well I ended up being able to do it, there's a 3rd spring clip on the bottom that was a major PITA to get to but once I got the airbag module out it wasn't too difficult.

was there any need to like “keep things lined up” or putting the clock spring in the same direction as the old one was taken out? also were you able to clear out all the lights that turned on after this install?
i did one for a yaris and i guess my clock spring was out of sync and the car would turn off when i turned, it was awful 🥲

@@ritchiemeza yes you need to keep things lined up. My lights did not turn off but everything did work. I think it’s a combination of cheap parts and the age of the car.

Hey where did you source the part from? Did you find a good deal? Trying to find one for my 2008 Quest that will ship to Canada which darn near impossible because who actually owns a Quest in 2024 🤷‍♀️. Apparently they use the same part as yours 25567-ET025.

eBay motors. That’s typically where I get my parts.
