At first talaga di ko alam kung paano mailalapat yung maharani song sa singkil and tinikling knowing na may beat din na sinusunod yung kalansing ng kawayan pero grabe sobrang galing talagang pinag-aralan at pinaghandaan so excited na for the music video
I don't agree with those who say folk dances are easy. The steps are probably easy to learn but the execution of those steps are never easy if you want to really perform them well. I'm glad they tapped someone who knows the dance well. So excited for this MV to come out.
this is very true. i just want to share an experience from three years ago. during buwan ng wika celebrations, folk dance competitions would usually be present. there were two groups who performed sayaw sa bangko and cariñosa respectively. technicalities-wise, sayaw sa bangko was more difficult. unfortunately, the dancers fell while executing the performance. in the end, the group who danced cariñosa won because although it was simpler, it was also that performance that was executed well.
I'm a member of the dance troupe back in college. Hindi madali ang folk at ethnic. Iba ang discipline. Rigid, hindi pwede mag-adlib at improvise di tulad ng hiphop na pwedeng maging creative. But it's worth it.
I think madali lang sa mga nagsasabi kapag walang grace..kasi ang beauty talaga ng folk dances e yung grace at elegance ng execution kahit side steps or forward backward or wagayway ng kamay

Im not a fan of Alamat but I appreciate yong symbolisms and/or malaking incorporation ng iba't ibang Philippine Tribes sa songs, MVs and outfits. Ito ang mga klase ng MV na hinihintay ko na makita sa Ppop. Yong mashowcase ang culture at traditional outfits ng ibat ibang tribu. The MV visual alone will tell you its tatak Pinoy. Tatak Ppop. Hope this could be a game changer and other Ppop groups will do the same sa other MVs nila. Hindi lang focus sa MV na insipired sa Kpop. Nawawala ang identity ng Ppop if palagi na lang Kpop-inspired ang MVs, outfits etc.

In KPop you get dance practice videos that are finished performances. This is so much better, where the idols actually learn the routine, the movements. I think a version of this should be standardized as content. It is satisfying and enriching.

I have always been hooked to Alamat since I heard and watched Kasmala (kasi it speaks of what happened to our Igorot ancestors in 1904) and Sandigan (bec. we love Anime syempre) and they have been making music infused with Filipino Culture, Music and the Arts na sobrang nakakaproud. It ain't mainstream but man, you just have to really listen and watch and be informed of what's within the music. Im not a fan of Alamat but I appreciate yong symbolisms and/or malaking incorporation ng iba't ibang Philippine Tribes sa songs, MVs and outfits. Ito ang mga klase ng MV na hinihintay ko na makita sa Ppop. Yong mashowcase ang culture at traditional outfits ng ibat ibang tribu. The MV visual alone will tell you its tatak Pinoy. Tatak Ppop.
Hope this could be a game changer and other Ppop groups will do the same sa other MVs nila. Hindi lang focus sa MV na insipired sa Kpop. Nawawala ang identity ng Ppop if palagi na lang Kpop-inspired ang MVs, outfits etc.

In KPop you get dance practice videos that are finished performances. This is so much better, where the idols actually learn the routine, the movements. I think a version of this should be standardized as content. It is satisfying and enriching.

Ang masasabi ko talaga, hinding hindi mo pagsisihan na maging magiliw ka, like mygosh! I started watching their old videos nong naga start pa sila para mas makilala ko sila lalo, and I'm soooo overwhelmed with their passion, dedication, and genuineness!! They're so talented, iyong boses at dancing skills nakuuuu overall talaga!! Ang gaganda pa ng mga personality!! Nakaka proud silang panoorin, wala silang katulad! I'm so exciteddd for this. Kudos Alamat (And Jhoanna) for taking your time in studying the dance... grabeng effort.
I have always been hooked to Alamat since I heard and watched Kasmala (kasi it speaks of what happened to our Igorot ancestors in 1904) and Sandigan (bec. we love Anime syempre) and they have been making music infused with Filipino Culture, Music and the Arts na sobrang nakakaproud.
It ain't mainstream but man, you just have to really listen and watch and be informed of what's within the music.
Am so hoping after this MV the Ginoos of Alamat will gain more recognition and sana may solo concert na soon. 🤗
