its cool i guess, but it seems like it would be more useful later in the game where people actually have surplus, but at that point either A you need it fast and you will lose precious factories, or b you wont need any of it anyway. most nations arent going to be selling many guns early in the game since theyll be building up, and later in the game unless youre really screwed you wont need to buy anything often
I think a lot of the minor AI nations will have a lot of equipment put up for sale, when you cap them they always have a few thousand added to your stockpile
This is going be perfect for a country like Hungary, as if they Allie themselves towards the axis or allies they could just buy superior guns and tanks from them if the don’t the industrial capacity
it should be supply and demand based otherwise it seems gamey and I can see something like this being implemented without any pop ups at all. Trade law of the seller country would impact the price for the buyer and all buys and sells would be done automatically? Trade menu overhaul! Might be intense on CPU
I think it would be way too complex of a thing to have on its own if it was supply and demand based, this is nice and simple and modders can take it to the next level of people want!
@@hammotimee what's complex? The game would take your deficit of infantry equipment and automatically trade with nations that have a surplus. This can be configurable in the trading tab to prioritize nations and stuff.
The more stockpiles across countries the lower the eachange rate for IC, the more shortage across countries the higher. When you have a stockpile of equipment then you'll be receiving IC from nations with shortages.
@@MrBlamed it’s been a while since I have played millennium but the TNO one has a custom interface which looks nicer. but I can’t speak to which one is better gameplay wise. What TNO does is it has your GDP decide how many production units you have, and those are split between civilian, military, and consumer factories(consumer factories can only be changed by some totalitarian nations).
Finally! Neutral country gameplay! Who doesn't want to be an international arms merchant living in the scandanavian mountains? I do often find myself wishing resources, trading and such had more importance in-game (for exmaple africa is only important if you are italy or france). I've never been a fan of adding economics to HOI4 but alot of interesting interactions happened around the WW2 period due to countries needing resources or lending eachother aid. Moreover, having countries be less capable of utter autarky and self reliance makes for better gameplay in my opinion (at the very least by increasing the importance of minor nations, colonies and interacting with other countries in non-hostile ways). One of my most fun HOI4 experiences was playing as a completely theft based army and taking my equipment capture ratio as far as I could. Creating the most makeshift and janky military known to man, whilst still trying to be viable, is a fun challenge! I suppose limiting resource managment is understandable as being constantly crippled by one thing or another isn't everyones cup of tea. Either way I, personally, support the sandboxification of HOI4 and this seems like a great update I can't wait for!
Idk if Ethiopia just became easier or harder, i mean you ain’t building much with their early industry and if it’s easier to buy them then begging for lend lease’s from Tannu Tiva and Mongolia
@@hammotimee I’m not sure but I don’t like to have to limit my trade to save iron when I have heaps of chromium for example. Also no one seems to buy my exports. I’m sure the devs can figure something better out.

If marketplace is going to be like in Millennium Dawn that could be huge for smaller nation players
Ngl think the one in TNO is better
I'm still yet to play that mod haha

When I read the thumbnail I thought hoi4 was going to add something like the csgo marketplace where you can buy or sell hoi4 skins
