I install hundreds of these a year. A factory reset should ideally be done with the first disk unwired from the router so it doesn't go beyond a ready to configure state. Then also reset the satellite disks. Just install from scratch. Most home users I meet aren't bothered about configuring access rights and ip addresses so it's much simpler just to let them fire up under their own steam with the 1st disk re-attached to the router. If you just leave it like that, there isn't an adjusted password to forget. IF you're using more than the 3 disks that come in the same box you simply re-attach those when the network is up and running (If you're network cabling to those) if not, you'll need to follow the app instructions and add further disks through that.

You might need to remove and readd them using the app?

@@freename deleted them off the system and factory reset them them but they just reboot in solid purple......... cheers for getting back 👍

Can I ask why you reset the master disc? I have a 4 disc setup and two of them are plugged into Ethernet - these work fine. I then have two satellites and they frequently turn red and stop working. I’ve reset the satellites multiple times and done every update possible, I find BT Helpdesk pretty useless. Also interested about the 40hz thing you spoke about…

I reset the master as the idea is to do that if you've forgotten a password or IP address you set. If you know the details then factory resetting is pretty superfluous. Are the wireless connected dishes any more reliable if you move them a bit closer to either of the wired dishes?

Any solution to factory reset that makes the disc not connect to BT whole home network but to arcadyan ?

That sounds very much like it may have gone terminally wrong :( Likely the firmware has become corrupted. BT support _might_ have some ideas; I suspect it will be something like a firmware recovery procedure.

Hello, is it important for the mesh disc to be plugged into an ethernet cable in order for the reset to work? thanks

If your disc came as part of a multi pack where they all have the same details by default then I'm not sure. If it is an additional disc or all of your discs are from different packs, you will need to plug it in to re-adopt it in the app.

Thanks so much for your response! For context, I'm trying to sell some discs that belonged to my parents. I just want to make sure that when I sell them, there's no risk of their data being stolen or accessed. I just have the discs, they're not part of my home wi-fi set up, so just wondering if I can just hit the reset button the back without Ethernet etc. Hope that makes sense, clearly I'm a complete novice!

@@HannahForde Just smash the reset button until the lights do whatever they do. No need to plug them into a network. Even if you didn't reset them the most someone might be able to get from them could be old device names which were on the network.. like "Bobs iPad" or "Photosmart8620" etc.. The discs won't store the websites which were visited, the content of those sites or any other documents or data from their computers.
