Yes, honestly, It's all about tongue shape when jumping octaves and hitting different notes in general. So If you want to jump an octave higher, you use fast air, tight corners, Higher tongue (Practice saying "e"), and a nice circle aputure. If its low, do the opposite. Slurring on the trombone is physically impossible unless its a natural slur so we use something called "Legato tongue" which is light tongue when going through notes seem like its slurred.

grow into it, in order to attack those notes properly you NEEEED to have energy leading up to it. hope this helps!!
