I love the idea of these expensive awnings but I mainly see them on RUclips used in relatively hot parts of the world like Africa and Australia where they are mainly used for shade. I think I would worry about using one in some of the camping “conditions” we get here in the UK, in particular high winds with gusts going in random directions like you get in Scotland and Ireland for example. I currently use a system of canvas tarps with poles which is a bit of a ball-ache to set up and take down but the cost of repairing damage is just eyelet replacement etc and the odd pole. I think I would worry that once bent, these expensive awnings would be very difficult to repair. Hope this worry is misplaced on your case! Lovely looking awning you have there anyway.

Yes I completely understand your worry, I too built a canvas awning on the trailer I use on the channel, indeed that has broken due to wind and was easy and cheap to repair - the problem, as you rightfully touched on is set up times, I'm currently planning a few things that need me to be a little more speedy...

Nice bit of kit, can you deploy it if it’s windy? Look forward to the colour scheme of the Land Rover! Stay safe atb 👍🦊

yeah buddy, up to 40kph above 40 you can either tie it down or even quicker at 20 seconds - fold it away

That’s a neat looking awning. Should be sheltered in the damp days and still knock a meal up 👍

I can see why you purchased that awning even though it's expensive. Here in the US we have a lot of places that don't see all the rain you all get but it's still just as useful for shelter and shade from the sun. The way it deploys is just genius. Nice to see you are attacking the rust problems. Great video.👍🏻

New landy coming on well. Love the awning, does this one have the drop down legs for extra support during bad weather. Will take note of make of this one as will be putting one on mine next year. Pays to get good quality one as richard from bug out vehicles, had to replace his Chinese buget one after only a few years use. You get what you pay for.

It will do up to 40kph winds free standing, you can then sinch it down with cord provided, you only really need the legs on when mount8ng the sides, though I have a set already - just in case..

Puitting a tubular rhino roof rack on my truck next year. Might be in touch as you said 270 awning not desingned to gon on them. Might need advice how to attach awning to roof rack. As you hsve got over problem. Nice to see you putting new doors on. I brought a cheap hicap 3 years ago have been doing a ground up restoration. Not cheap doing up old landys but in the end you get a vehicle custom built to your needs.
