Thanks a lot mate ! By using the same keyboards as Tony did :) Though I also have a good experience of sounds design, and considering Tony mostly used presets and didn't created a lot of his own patch, it's not that hard, just a matter of Time and motivation
@@MathGsr well that his enlightening. Thank you. But it looks like you use Midi Controllers and synths. I’m new to the Midi world… are they controlling rack type synths? I am the youngest of 4 kids and when my friends were listening to the Jackson 5 I was listening to Genesis, Yes, ELP…. I’ve loved Genesis all my life. I’ve played keys as a hobby most of it. I’m 55 and now have more time and money to get what I need to play the music I’ve loved for so long. You are my goal from a music perspective! Very inspiring!!! Please don’t stop producing your videos! You will help make my musical dream come true! Thank you!!!
@@jeffspadaro5773 wow that's the kind of comment which litteraly made my day. Thank you so much. You are right, this is old videos, and I was using midi controller (if you watch last videos now I have the original 1973 Tony Banks keyboard rig). These controllers are not linked to a rack synth, but to a VST (Virtual instrument). And as I said I'm using Tony's original keyboard from this era but in vst controlled by midi keyboard. Otherwise, in these videos, the keyboard rig is the same as Tony in 1987, excepted that it's full midi. I dont think I'll stop doing these videos, I did the full invisible touch tour, now i'm on the early era, and later i'm planning to do the mama tour, the way we walk and calling all stations so there is a lot coming :)
@@MathGsr very good to hear more videos are coming! The only ARP ProSoloist VST I could find was for PC. I just bought a MAC because I thought that was the best for MIDI. Do you have a VST you can recommend? I bought the Arturia V Collection…. 28 vintage keyboards so I was hoping to find sounds there that are pretty close to what Tony Banks used… sorry for all the messages… I just love this stuff and enjoy talking about it and playing as much as possible. Especially when I find someone with similar (or possibly more) passion for it.
@@jeffspadaro5773 don't worry it's a Real pleasure for me to talk with you! I always love talking in the comment section, it's Always very interesting and full of passion :D I also have the arturia collection, this is what I used in these videos for Dx7, prophet, Synclavier and Emu2+ sound. I highly recommand Keyscape, best CP70 Sound and great Hohner Pianet, accoustic piano etc sounds. Otherwise there is the RMI EP from Tony which is pretty fine, CollaB3 is a good free Hammond B3 Vst (arturia B3 is the best imo). But arturia Collection is by far the best for Tony's legendary sounds. If you like the 90's Genesis, Korg Wavestation Vst is Amazing since there is every Tony sounds as preset from WE can't dance and calling all stations. If you have Facebook or something you Can write me, I Can give you plenty of tricks to have right sounds on prophet and Synclavier 😉
A 70s song with The sound of the 80s...i would really like to hear some newer songs with The sounds of the keyboards of the 70s...only for fun... Like... Domino or home by The sea with hammonds, mellotron, aro, all that stuff
This is a very interesting comment. As you said Tony always played songs with his current setup. If you listen to some 80's supper's ready, you Can ear the whole song played on a Cp70, a prophet, a quadra...(which is strange but i love it) I ever did what you said for the fun ! I didnt recorded it but if you want tell me which song you want to ear played on 70's keyboard and i Can record for you and send by email
You're best yet. Memorable moment from concert.
Thank you for playing music from my favourite band!
Thank you for watching and listening it :)
You've got that tune down pat,. Well done.
Wow!
Very nice!!! Thank for the bonus
You must be the first one to notice it :D
Thanks
You’re incredible. Your sounds are so exact to what Tony used. How do you replicate his sounds so perfectly?

Honestly, Tony’s best choir sound since the mellotron. What did he use on this tour for it?
Totally agree ! The one from 1980-1982 sounds so strange.
It's from the Emu2+ combined with the Dx7 and played on the Dx7
Specifically a preset called "Hinson Choir" from the OMI library. Best choir patch I've ever heard.

Exactly what I've always wondered! I once started recording a cover of Domino with mellotron and stuff but never finished it!
Nice bro. Which VST you use to play the choirs?
Thanks dude ;)
It was a preset from the Emulator I think
