🥴There's a compliment in there, somewhere, so thanks? 😁 (Actually, when I've had trouble sleeping I'd put on some silent cartoons and I'd be out in no time. What can I say? They relax me!)
Drawing-wise, you can still see the Aesop's Fables" influence in this cartoon, but you can also see how Disney was moving away from it. Terry's characters had a stiff angular feel to them, and his backgrounds are perfunctory; Disney's are rounded and supple, and his backgrounds have an appealing cartoony look. Style-wise, these mid-20s Alices' fall between the primative looking "Fables" and the very design-y Felix's. There's no comparison, though, with the Fleischer "Out Of The Inkwells"- They were the most sophisticated looking cartoons of their era.
Virginia Davis was one of the Alices. She died in 2009. There's a Wikipedia page on her. Over the course of the series, four actresses played Alice: Virginia Davis (15), Margie Gay (31), Dawn O'Day (1) and Lois Hardwick (10). en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_Comedies
A lost art , and all hand drawn my preference . The silent era really talks to you in a way , love this .
The best way to watch any silent film is in a theater with an audience. They really "pop!"
These Alice Comedies are a great substitute for sleep medicine! Thank you Craig!

@@soaniway9396 Well, these are the most boring of the silent cartoon series of the 20s (in my honest opinion). They naturally put me to sleep!
