Hey Mogz, despite already being gc and doing all these things habitually, your quality always keeps me watching every upload. Definitely love what you are doing for this community.
glad that you think so bro. I kinda struggled making this video trying to decide which tips to include... which were most important. So I am quite keen to hear what actual GCs think about them. Wonder if I missed any super crucial ones... lemi know
@@Mogzrl the only thing that im not agreeing about is when you said dont use your flips infront open net you can use it but not instantly other than that everything is pretty good
@@Mogzrl I thought it was solid, I would say though that a huge part of the offensive game, is just trying to navigate around your opponents. Getting the ball past the opponent is half the game to be able to have a shot on net, so mixing up your shots is pretty key (That or just spamming gold shots till they make a mistake and overcommit lol).
@@mike-024 hey brotha thanks for the notes and yes i agree that mixing up your shots is a huge part of offense, and actually i was considering adding a section for "use a variety of mechanics".. but i thought it was a bit too kinda obvious/common sense advice... so I decided to skip that. There's one other mechanic i wanted to include.. that i might do in a future vid.. and that is the "pancake to gold shot" Its one of the things i see GCs doing most often... pancaking on the ball, then leaning back and gold shotting. In lots of situations.. 5050s, ground plays, and aerial plays... but ye, decided not to include it in this vid.
i struggle with shooting when the ball is rolling up the enemy goal and i usually miss those shots, this video actually helped me improve the shot and i learned a few more tricks in game
That practice technique is brilliant! Thanks for that one. Side Note: My biggest pet peeve in this game has to be getting a teammate (casual mode) that just sits inside the net “to play defense” and leaves me to go 1v2 to get all the goals! 🤦♂️
@@DarceyRecords meanwhile them traumatized from all the overcommitters passing the ball to two enemies who get a clean shot at your goal. Hey ya Mogz, I am D1 and have realized pretty much all that you recommend here on my own, but one still commit many of these errors anyways. Over commiting and saving boost and jump are the most valuable IMO.
This is the best tips I've seen and best channel for helpful tips overall, this video covered most of the problems i face in champ and making it difficult to get to gc This definitely helped a lot thanks mogz!

I'm jumping into RL Sideswipe a little late (just two days ago) but I'm loving it. It's so thrilling to play, but so frustrating to be so out of control all over the place. I checked out Rocket League videos and came across your channel. I love how you explain everything to make it sound easy. I hope to improve both in the Sideswipe and the regular RL. Thank for the tips and training!
Great tips and I have a rule I like to follow which is to always be behind the ball no matter what so if you’re taking a shot make sure you have a clear pathway back into the game and not floating midair next to the opponents goal

Pretty hilarious the leafy thing, haha ! That's entirely true. Love the rules* thing ; still working on my obedience, haha ! As you were telling, "i flip the ball and hope for the best", too often. Great video !
im in plat and a thing i sometimes like to do is I dribble the ball on the ground from my side to half field or whenever the opponent attacks and purple from the ground to get the ball over the opponent and open net ( I wanna flex soo, I can stall into purple, double stall, double tap, ceiling pinch, gold shot, purple shot, horse flick, and ground purple)
Wouldn't a more accurate title be "Duels Platinum Player tells you how to play like a Grand Champ!". Since you said comments like this make your day, there you go. I always enjoy the videos, good content. Cheers.
Lmao. I just started getting really decent at stall chains and I discovered pancake finishes from trying to get the reset right at their goal and is the funniest way to deflect saved shots right back into unsafe territory. 😂😅
Hey man, thank you for the tips. I have always been that feather and that's why I always lost in duels is because I always am the feather, but now I am no longer silver and on the map that I know well and love S.C field. Thank you for the tips, it got me into gold and is helping a lot. Edit: As a bronze I always played casual duels and that skill playing casual duels got me to silver me peak used to be silver 4 but now I am gold 2 making it to gold 3. Once again thank you Mogz for the tips if I didnt have these tips I wouldn't have beat a diamond in a casual match. I also watch a plat streamer who 1v1s people in chat and he 1v1d me when I was silver, I'm going to go 1v1 him when he streams again and hopefully beat him.
Hey morgz your videos are very helpful for me and when I saw your first video I immediately subscribed your make awesome and helpful content keep up the good work
Hey could you tell me a good source for gc gameplay that you were talking about in the beginning? And why do you have your goal on the left? Just preference?
I just got champ 1 (1 day before season end yay) and you are a big reason I did. You helped me work better with my teammates and my shooting skills are all taught by you. Thank you. I also suck at open nets :D
thanks mate, found some awesome tips. Any suggestions when the oponent just hangs out in the goal post and barely plays but when you shoot they can easily defend and take the goal in one shot...
my main advice on this would be - don't shoot. Air dribble the ball at them, whilst staying behind the ball.. then pancake & 50 them in front of their goal. Just make sure you don't flip on the 50. Just pancake and try to push the ball past them. Use purple or gold shot if u need to shoot. Can mix that up by hitting the ball high over their head (instead of 50ing them) etc... to keep them guessing. I'll probs do a video on 'solo plays' soon, which will focus on this situation.
i loved the tips about flipping. especially not always using a front flip but using gold or purple or manual flips. ty for the help, I hope I improve out of bronze soon 😂 (THERE ARE SOO MANY SMURFS OR INE JUST GENUINLY THE WORST PLAYER IN THIS GAME)
Another way to score an open net when its just shy of the goal is to get under it, jump, half roll and belly shot the ball. Especially if the ball has a bit of momentum. Puts you in a great spot to recover as you hit the ground again right away, and also just looks stylish as fuck.
