  • The Self-Solving Rubik's Cube was on display at 2019 Maker Faire Bay Area. Carefully mix up the cube and then just set it down on the table. After sitting stationary for just a moment, the cube begins to rotate faces by itself until the puzzle has been solved.
This video is look inside the cube, as its creator, Takashi Kaburagi, disassembles his creation in order to swap out the battery.

Oh my, they went all algorithms with it. I would have definitely cheated by recording then playing the scramble moves backwards. Looks awesome.

and you would never be able to come back from a restart :)

It must have absolute encoders so, if it resets, it can at least know whether it is scrambled. In that case I could solve it by hand once. This means you are right, I would never be able to come back from a reset. :-)

The best part is fitting the entire thing inside the existing envelope without doing anything that betrays the fact it's an algorithmic self-solving cube until it actually does it.

    The inside is fascinating
It looks like a rubik’s brand except for the core

Would be pretty cool if you just hold the center and use your Jedi powers to solve it without moving your fingers

Well done Mr. Takashi Kaburagi, but you could have used a magnetic cube or something better at corner cutting to be more smoother.

I can see this being turned into the “World’s most frustrating rubik cube” where if you solve it, it unsolves itself into a new scrambe every single time, same if you put it in common patterns like checkerboard.
I will pay someone to make this for me! I want one!!!

So what was the algorithm. I think that it is actually remembering the actions and after being on the plain surface ( sensed by sensor) it just redoing them. Eg : two upward rotations so it will do two upward prime rotations.

He did this because he had to swap the battery. Nice chance getting a peek.

I am just thinking how i can made it and here the solution just reverse the direction of the direction its rotated but problem is howww??
