    Notable NFL WR Contracts during the 2024 NFL Offseason:
    - Justin Jefferson: 4-YR, $140 MM
    - Amon-Ra St. Brown: 4-YR, $120 MM
    - A.J. Brown: 3-YR, $96 MM
    - Jaylen Waddle: 3-YR: $84.75 MM
    - DeVonta Smith: 3-YR, $75 MM
    - Nico Collins: 3-YR, $72.75 MM
    - Michael Pittman: 3-YR, $70 MM
    - Mike Evans: 2-YR, $41 MM
    DJ Moore extension projection: 3-year, $92.9 million. With Moore’s remaining contract of 2 years and $32.1 million, that would morph into a 5-year, $125.0 Million contract extension which would be a great deal for Ryan Poles and the Chicago Bears.

    Jeremy Fowler (ESPN) On Caleb Williams & Bears:
    “The Bears are working overtime to get him used to taking the ball under center, shotgun, play-action, all the nuances of their NFL-style offense, which he didn't always use at USC. I'm told he's really taken to that. He's using his arm strength to try to see what he can get away with at OTAs, resulting in the occasional inaccurate pass to interception. That's okay, trying to work out the kinks until September.”

    First off, you never sign a player to an extension after a career year. You have to realize his numbers are likely to regress when they’re so many weapons on this team this year. So if you’re going to do an extension, you do it after this following season when is numbers aren’t nearly as high. And that’s, almost guaranteed to happen when you’re distributing the ball to Keenan Allen and Romo Dune as well.

    Extend DJ at the end of the year if they plan on getting another high dollar edge before the season starts. If they don’t plan on spending more then I can see them extending him now to save some money in the future but I don’t see it being a priority until the next offseason.

    • @mclew1234

      As DJ doesn't have any guaranteed money left on this current deal, now is a great chance to put a very tasty deal in front of him where he gets generation wealth guaranteed & we have him for the rest of his prime on a very reasonable price tag & then if Odzune becomes the 1, he can get paid when the DJ contract ends. And with the cap constantly going up at 29 he is going to want Top 10 cap hit numbers

      @@clubmogambo3214 You don’t extend a guy when he had record year! You wait until the end of this season, because he’ll have to fight for every yard due to the talent around him. I don’t think he’ll be as effective this year as he was in ‘23. (That’s when you pounce)

  • @Slamuel20
    @Slamuel20 3 месяца назад +5

    I don’t see why they couldn’t extend DJ right NOW for a 2 year, 50 mil all guaranteed kind of structure, similar to Mike Evans deal. It would save in the long run if you have to negotiate that 2 years from now. We’d have him through his age 30/31 season if that’s the case. DJ is a hell of a receiver, just don’t want him to turn into an Allen Robinson situation where he just regresses and fades away

      @SamLachtara - The Bears do not benefit from offering an extension to D.J. Moore now when they have to see if they want to extend Keenan Allen.
      There is two years left on D.J.'s deal at a reasonable value of $16 million per season and no dead cap.
      The only way it makes sense is if the Bears increase his salary for the next two seasons, pay a sizable amount up front in a signing bonus and have the additional two seasons in 2026 and 2027 be at less than his market value with 2024 and 2025 being fully guaranteed.
      For example, make it a 4 year - $84 million deal. $21 million a season. D.J. gets $5 million more in 2024 and 2025 with that money fully guaranteed and a sizable amount paid to him now as a signing bonus.

    • @Slamuel20
      @Slamuel20 3 месяца назад +2

      @@thechannel2398 simply put, DJ is younger and not prone to injuries. You’re not likely to get a full season out of an aging Keenan Allen. Keenan Allen re-signing would command more $ than a DJ extension would. They absolutely do benefit from a DJ extension now rather than his price tag going up a year from now

      Theres no guarantee with the draft picks. I would rather trade a pick for an established player as long as the salary cap is manageable.

      Not sure what you mean by this. Did we not draft D Wright, torque Stevenson, Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Brisker, Kyler Gordon, Jaylen Johnson? I mean isn’t that building through the draft? What he meant by his statement was that they are in win now and could trade some future picks to get the additional piece they need to put them over the top

      The guy obviously don't know Jack Shit about football. Dumb, dumb statement. Maybe he just woke up from a 4 year nap.@@LuckyChuckie_FF

      @@LuckyChuckie_FF if you are talking to me, ues we did draft all those guys. But we also drafted Fields, Velus Jones, Daz Newsome, Larry Borom, and zack Thomas. There are great picks and bad picks. It is ok to trade picks for proven set and go players.

      @@selbyhoney1451 those idiots you just mentioned were drafted by Pace not Poles. You're still concerned with the past instead of looking to the future. Poles is doing a great job. Leave hom to do his work.
