UK family structure is a doom. There is nothing tò learn from them. What you have are women with kids from different fathers. The more kids you have the more benefits you get. Some counties are having financial difficulty to sustain their costs. At the age of 17 children have their free choice of life. Mostly they are not interested in education. Having costly tattoos is a trend. Others choose same sex marriages...means no children. Think... in 50 to 100 years time who are going to run the country and the economy.

You can remake or reset yourself in Malaysia and live comfortably in your own skin. It's easy, especially, for a Muslim to feel at home here. But even for others, as long as you don't preach that you are better ( unlikely anyway) and can accept the status quo together with the apparent hypocritical contadictions in the country, you should be fine. Our standards are high, but our costs are low. We are good but far from perfect.

I’m a Malaysian. Think there isn’t an idealistic country any where in the world. In every race n religion, there are good, honest and sincere people as well as bad, dishonest and hypocritical people. If we want to look out for the good people in our lives, we can find one in any country. Anyway, I agree to her general comparisons made between here and the UK.

Malaysia has peace and harmony because Malaysia is not a secular country.
It is a predominantly muslim country where Islam is the official religion of the country which is clearly cast in stone in the Malaysian Constitution.

    Dear Saira,
    Assalamualaikum
You are incredibly honest and you speak from your heart at the same time your have such wide experience.
For all practical reason, you can't please everyone and any where on earth there is no place like heaven. Only in the afterworld there will be a perfect place which all your senses are satisfied.
Malaysia is as good as you can get.
I must say Islamic values practiced in Malaysia has moulded us into what we are. The humbleness, the friendliness, the spirit of sharing and many other qualities of muslims can be felt in the Malaysian atmosphere.
Sister Saira you should immerse more with local Islamic practice for example, going to islamic lectures, quran reading groups, doing charitable works and many similar activities.
I pray that you shall be closer to Islamic values and surround yourself with more muslims who are dedicated to Islam.
    Wassalam

    Me Croatian
Except UK we lived in Azerbaijan,Qatar,UAE and Barbados
    Now on Jersey UK island
And yes you need to really live somewhere to understand about culture, people etc
Eastern ppl are not always aware about many things ( Health & Safety, Employment law, Discrimination etc) but they definitely have better values in their lives: Family, Elderly, Woman, Children, Food, Hospitality etc)
British are cold and not much emotion there.
My husband is Brit but he lived in many countries before we met and will live instantly in Croatia where I’m from then in UK
Ps: left Dubai because couldn’t watch local people treating less fortunate so so bad ( Including some rich Brits as well )

People see you differently no matter where you reside the minute you have everything. It happens even in Malaysia, where people judge you based on your social status and how much you earn, and it is not only in the UK. But when it comes to people treating people in a sense that 'I belanja makan,'' that may not be happening in the UK. However, there will always be pros and cons everywhere in the world. It is how you feel from within, whether or not people value you or not. Opportunity is the main thing; if you don't have the opportunity from where you were born, you move to another country to substantiate living. Unless you have enough money to sustain your life with.
